  1. Looks lovely, apart from the mirrors on it. Not my tea of cup. Make him an offer? Also doesn't look like they are 240z carbs, looks like different British Style SU's or perhaps the dashpot dip sticks have been changed.
  2. I'm still lost, that username also looks like the guy who I bought my 240z off years back. But I'm not certain.
  3. A dodgy looking valve cover (DIY jobby). http://page4.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/d144299429
  4. http://page5.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/e138925194 Another 1 has popped up.
  5. To the original question I've been meaning to update this buyers guide for ages and yesterday I added some reference photos, but I plan to change it's structure quite a bit and improve it further. However it may give you some indication as to the differences. http://datsun-240z-blog.viczcar.com/nissan-datsun-s30-buyers-guide.html
  6. As always great work mate, love the Fairlady mesh grille, this is going to turn out great I'm sure. Are you still going to have the turbo L-series or is just a valve cover now? Did you buy new bolts or have the old ones zinc plated etc.?
  7. The general pattern of the market is that there will be very few cars on the market at a given point in time. Often for months on end, then there will be a period of multiple good prospects on the market within a 6 month period and then nothing again. Many of the cars that come up for sale are cars that were bought and sold a few years ago and people move on. I suspect many cars though are in private hands with people planning to keep their cars. Given how few good ones are left, it seems the cars that show up most often are the projects in need of rust or damage repair. Everyone wants to put an RB in 1 these days, but I would urge anyone thinking of doing it to first drive a well sorted L-series powered Z first. They are a lot of fun, even at 150-200 HP.
  8. I must admit when this 1 came onto the market I was tempted to make an offer, although it would have been totally impractical of me to buy it. Just love Silver / Red combo and it was very original. I'm sometimes glad when these things get snapped up as I can stop thinking about ways to purchase it and to be honest I don't need another 240z, just would like 1. Good to know it went to a good home.
  9. Try it again might have been temporary issue.
  10. If anyone wants the clear ones . http://page18.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/w87885742
  11. Check these out. http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/electrical-s30/25274-oem-fog-lamp.html http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/interior-s30/4522-fog-lamp-switch.html
  12. I would get it out of there, pack it up ship it to Peter Mac to work some magic on it. Of course he is probably very busy but you've seen what he can do with an L-series. In my opinion go with someone who others on here have had a great experience with. Nobody has complained about the work Peter does to date. It's top class. Might cost a tiny bit more than you anticipated but do it once do it properly and you'll save money in the long run IMHO. There are other options also closer to QLD.
  13. Awesome, they always look funny stripped down to that level. Can't wait to see how it turns out for you. Getting suspension together can be frustrating, especially the rear control arms etc..
  14. I saw a thread on classiczcar.com re: factory fog lights. Very rare. I'll see if I can dig it up.
  15. I was going to buy it, stick an RB26 in it and put flares on it with massive wheels.
  16. I was actually expecting worse, but it's about what I'd expect for that year Datsun and to be honest it looks very original. I'm surprised the centre console is not broken and it actually has the unique / early fender mirrors which is quite the bonus along with the early D hubcaps! Also note how the steering wheel doesn't have the cut outs in the spokes, but is 1 solid piece? This would be a good car to restore to factory spec. Any indication what the asking price is?
  17. How do you do the lettering like that?
  18. So do we get to see photos of said car? Or do we have to make do with the current comments to determine how bad it is?
  19. How sad, it was actually a pretty good car when I last saw it.
  20. Yeah it's that area anyway. I think the reason I remember it, is that number plate always stuck in my mind as a strange custom plate. I must be a freak for keeping track of Z's, I feel like I've seen many cars be bought and sold over the years. What are your plans for it?
  21. I can't believe I remember it, it was parked in South Yarra area, I remember because I used to Deliver Pizza's in the area in my white 260z 2+2 as a student. It wasn't the best way to make money and the 260z was eventually written off when someone pulled out of a side street in front of me in a WRX. It was in 1 of these streets. http://goo.gl/maps/2UoeP http://goo.gl/maps/rlxeX http://goo.gl/maps/2rOgq and the Pizza shop was here lol. http://goo.gl/maps/ENU44
  22. A Datsun without rust is like an alcoholic without a pub.
  23. I feel like I've seen it before in South Yarra many years ago. A dark blue 2+2 is it? Really testing my memory now.
  24. I have to admit Iron Man 3 was pretty average, I only really liked Ben Kingsley role in it. I only watched it because I was on a long flight back to Sydney and thought it might be ok. The first Iron man was good, the second was still ok, but the 3rd, well... it's getting a bit tired.
  25. Thanks for sharing, shame you only just started to say hello now though . Looking forward to seeing what you do with it. Looks like an honest example.
