  1. It looks so purdy, sounds amazing.
  2. Someone sell me that Red Interior!
  3. Screw putting your money in property or gold. Rusty old Datsun's is where the ROI is at. http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/calamvale/cars-vans-utes/datsun-240k-c110/1027408163 20K for a 240K.
  4. I can hear the Tetris theme music in my head as he tries to fit it all in
  5. Love the stock suspension components. Nice work keep it up.
  6. I carried a S30 gearbox in the back of my 240z once, it wasn't tied down and when I accelerated it rolled back and almost punched out the rear window. So I would recommend restraining it in some manner.
  7. Going off memory here but the early L20A blocks had different con rod bolt set up, compared to later (later style is not interchangable I believe). I also think the later E88 found on L20a was designed to be more smog friendly and hence less performance oriented. Earlier L20A's used a different head casting ID, can't recall for sure but I think 05L was the designated cast ID.
  8. Yes it's a bit bonkers alright. We have already upped the budget a couple of times but just can't find the 'right' place even at $700 p/week. So I'm starting to think a little further out is probably the way to go.
  9. That's a good rule, I've told my g/f the same rule. I say it's best to move in first, once they know you're a good tenant then you can discuss further. At least we don't have a dog yet, so we aren't stuck from that perspective. I too would love to leave the rat race, but I'm stuck in Sydney for work. I do see myself moving to Country Victoria or even NSW at some point though to escape, first things first though.
  10. Thanks Peter, yes I did start looking at Tempe but not much further south / west than that. I'll take a look at those other suburbs also. I'm definitely open to suggestions and haven't set anything in stone in terms of where I'm willing to live. Although 1 of the reason I did want to live close to Pyrmont was the fact that I would like to cycle to work (if at all possible?) since I find it cheap (free), a good way to keeping fit and a stress free mode of transport.
  11. Yeah I've been looking there, thanks mate. Yes crazy indeed. I do recall Dublin being like this before it all came crashing down though... although I think rental demand will always be high in Australia especially inner suburbs.
  12. Hi Guys, So turns out finding the ideal rental property is not so easy.. I inspected a couple over the weekend which were ok but there is quite a bit of competition out there also! This would have been perfect. http://www.realestate.com.au/property-house-nsw-lilyfield-411283251 But no pets allowed, although on the plus side it had a yard and space to grow some vegetables etc.. Plus it was pretty close to work. Bathroom was pretty old (which was the only other con). The pet thing is important to my g/f because it was 1 of the reasons she wanted to move back to Australia, so she could finally have a dog. So here is a short list of some of the areas I'm looking in. 1. Leichthard / Balmain / Rozelle and close by. 2. Surry Hills / Paddington 3. Newtown / Alexandria / St Peters 4. Bondi / Coogee / Maroubra - but a little more expensive due to demand and harder to find a garage here. We are also considering the North Side Beaches 1. Manly is a bit far and pricey 2. Balgowlah / Mosman - still relatively convenient by Ferry I'm trying to stay close to CBD because both g/f and I work there and it might be a bit cheaper further out but the trade off is cost of transport to city daily and time of course. Finding the right place with a garage + garden in 1 of these areas is tough, so the other option is to save a little on rent get something without a garage space and rent a garage separate (although this is less ideal). I did find a place like this: http://www.realestate.com.au/property-house-nsw-mascot-411244139 Which I quite like the idea of (living in a warehouse) but the g/f was less keen on it . Anyway just thought I'd post up here and see if anyone is sharing a garage space or renting 1? Or knows of any such places in the above mentioned areas?
  13. What its worth will depends on photos and its condition I would say 12-15k based on your post but it could also be as low as 6-12k if it needs serious help. There is an early Silver 240z on Gumtree asking 10k at the minute but has serious rust. You can advertise here, car sales, Gumtree and eBay that would cover most eye balls on Internet in target market.
  14. Yes I have to get the s30 on CH plates and it certainly needs more work done on it. Would like to Remove Recaro seats and replace with something more period authentic.
  15. http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/secret-harbour/engine-engine-parts-transmission/2jz-2jzgte-engine-/1027119241 2JZ engine cheap, would be good in an S30Z. Perhaps better than an RB26?
  16. You guys are quick... damn..... http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/kardinya/cars-vans-utes/1970-datsun-240z-coupe/1026979813 Who painted it Stevie Wonder? That's a lot of rust to come through since it was last painted.
  17. If I had to take a serious guess I'd say it's part of the 280ZX optical distributor set up found on the turbo models.
  18. Yeah will definitely try and be there, should be in Melbourne for Christmas / Family etc..
  19. Hey Marc. It's been a while indeed. Sure thing mate, would love to see how your Z has come along.
  20. I didn't watch it last night, but it's the last movies I watched. 1. The Creature 1985 http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0088961/ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fBUnh-AOIYU Very much an 80s sci-fi and a total Alien rip-off, but for some reason I just love old sci-fi films. Even the most b-grade rubbish. I guess I'm fascinated by set design, and the limitations of special effects they could help to achieve. 2. After Earth Rubbish, I couldn't stand it. Will Smith's son was a moping useless git. Shame we don't have Netflix over here.
  21. Definitely looks like the ignition module I had on my wait for it... 'Mitsubishi' distributor. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php?topic=935.0 But it looks different, I have heard you can fit an ignitor module (another Bosch Module) to a Z distributor (seem to remember it was a Ford). Perhaps someone hooked that up as a modification when they couldn't find a ZX module? Do you have an electronic distributor?
  22. As far as I'm aware there are 0 432 Z's in Australia. I don't believe there are even any S20 powered cars running around here yet! If someone were truly interested in such a vehicle I would start my search on Yahoo! auctions but don't hold your breathe as finding a genuine car like this would really involve dealing with a reputable company in Japan to help you locate 1.
  23. Thanks Peter will do.
  24. Just an update day 3 in Sydney now. Still looking for somewhere to live, but have somewhere temporary for now. I do like the Ferry system to work. Currently in Rose Bay for now, but not sure where I'll end up yet.
  25. Adam I believe colour code goes on top of radiator support area. Slightly to the right hand side. However I would get a 2nd opinion.
