  1. @Bozo, no need for that, I mean you hate it when other members behave like that, so why do it to others? >> zeeeya - welcome, a car that meets your criteria may show up, so keep checking in on the for sale section. However you want to also look at cars needing bodywork because there are not many rust free Zeds floating about.
  2. Hi Guys, Today was a great day and great turn out not just for Zeds but Datsun's in general. I met a couple of people and enjoyed looking at the various cars on display. I took some rather average photos (sorry not sure why the earlier ones are white washed - perhaps due to overcast weather?) but figure I'd share them with you guys anyway as the NSW section is rather bleak at the moment . If anyone has photos, please contribute. I got there a little later in the day and didn't get a chance to properly frame any cars and really get good photos. I missed a couple of zeds also.
  3. You big kid, it will look good sitting in the boot of the real thing!
  4. Welcome I'm in Sydney now also but my 240z is in Melbourne so same dilemma as you. I was just at Datsun Day today and there was only a couple of Zeds. Need to get more Sydney enthusiasts together. .
  5. Yeah what did the 432 go for?
  6. Also looked original and no sun roof to remove. I'd say an excellent base car to start with. But the 260z 2 seated for 20k is still a bargain if you consider the effort it will take to get the 10k car to that standard.
  7. And it's gone already...
  8. Check this out! LY Valve Cover. http://page9.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/k164838394
  9. Can't imagine this lasting long? http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/wattle-grove/cars-vans-utes/1974-datsun-260z-coupe/1030933796
  10. Just realised we've been here before. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,7070.msg66141.html#msg66141 http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php?topic=5488.0 Found this also: http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/wheels-tires-brakes-s30/18850-all-watanabes-mounted-new-pics-inside.html But they look a bit bigger at the rear. http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/wheels-tires-brakes-s30/18850-all-watanabes-mounted-new-pics-inside.html#post145476 Based on above links, I think this is the size I'd want.
  11. I'll say it again, they are under valued for what you get! Especially when you compare to the same era Aussie made cars. EH Charger, Falcon's, Monaro's, Torana's etc..
  12. Hi Guys, This S31 Z has the perfect looking combo of wheel set up under stock guards. Does anyone want to hazard a guess as to their size and offset etc..?
  13. Thanks Benny, after your reply I realised the rear of my car has like 7.5 " superlites. I just couldn't remember what size wheels a Z usually had.
  14. I would ask Ben @ Otomoto.
  15. Still interested in P90 will let you know tomorrow .
  16. I'm out of touch on rim sizes that fit a stock Z. Will the epic wats fit under standard guards, no flares?
  17. Classic Car prices are high for the most part, take a look at an XB Coupe and you'll see what I mean. Zeds are actually on the cheap end if you ask me. There are far more early rotor coupe's floating about and yet they are often priced much higher than an early Z. I guess as has been mentioned it's a smaller market and generally people looking for a Z have had 1 before or know what they are looking for.
  18. I think you're on to something Sydney house prices are going bananas and I'd say people are selling assets to fund a house purchase at the current interest rates. It does make me wonder when this infinite growth stops, what is going to happen?
  19. That's just showing off ^^ where can I get me some stickers like that? They look 'Totes Amazeballs'.
  20. 2K minimum. I paid $1200 for a set of second hand ones a few years ago. I rarely see 44s up for sale. What are the books you have mate? I'd be interested in buying them for my own sake. Are they still being sold on Amazon?
  21. With 280z hood vents in it? Oh dear.... where is that Michael Jackson Popcorn Image when you need it?
  22. Snobs ^^ LOL. I guess it's true a motor is all about the right combination of parts, I just think you can also build a smaller displacement L-series on a reasonable budget and be happy with the power output. Might be a silly question (as I don't have my carbs on hand to measure) but I assume Mikuni 44 carbs are named so because they are 44 mm right? So the 40's are therefore only 40 mm and to get 48mm you would need webers or some other brand like OER which come in those larger sizes? I think you can get 50mm Mikuni's but they are ultra rare.
  23. Thanks for sharing those photos, great to see them in racing livery. Sounds like the race car version was a very well sorted machine. You don't see many of the B210 coupe's on the road over here anymore. I remember seeing them quite frequently but not anymore.
  24. I understand this is totally subjective to the build and combination of parts being used, but bang for buck is it really worth buying an LD28 crank at $800-$1200 AU (which is the range I've seen them fetch) as opposed to investing that money in the cylinder head, port / polish / cam set up and sticking with a std L28 crank instead? I've personally been thinking of selling my LD28 crank, L14 rods and just focusing on building a good P90 head with L28 bottom end and sticking Triple Mikuni's on it, but then again I already have the LD28 so maybe I'll just use it? What is the cost of fitting up an RB30 crank to an L-series block vs using and sourcing and LD28 crank? I imagine RB30 cranks are pretty cheap these days?
  25. Nice work Peter and Les. Thanks for sharing.
