  1. The example above had the no. 66626. This is from my 71 HS30 01415. I couldn't make out the text before, but assume it was the same as the example above. 5080 or 5089 or even 50895 but the relays (non original added to the starter motor wiring) are covering the last digit.
  2. Found these on another very original 240z (73 model 901 silver with red interior). Compliance plate has the same no. on it. So this leads me to believe they must have been some kind of compliance process mark or sequence.
  3. Well that was fun and I've got the busted nuckles to prove it.
  4. It's quite possible that Len's car is long gone. Of the supposed 2,500 delivered here. I've only recorded 550 or so cars.
  5. HS30 101368 is listed for sale. http://www.affordableclassics.com.au/classic-cars-for-sale?product_id=108 https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/fyshwick/cars-vans-utes/1973-datsun-240z-manual/1249330092

I believe reproductions were made available not long ago. There is a thread here somewhere.

  9. I somewhat agree. I am expecting to be disappointed (again), but hoping this time they might have got it right.
  10. I'm dealing with a friends third Gen Prelude (89) which has some electrical gremlin preventing it from powering up it's ECU. Frustrated and it has a couple of superficial rust spots. Nothing like an S30z though!
  11. I hate new cars. But I also hate rusty old ones too.
  12. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1972-datsun-240z-124/ Nice 72 got a good price recently. $53,000 USD. So just about $80k AUD at today's rate.
  13. My 72 (#10552) has no compliance plate, not sure if it was ever fitted either? But my 70 (#150) / 71 (#1415) have it. Not sure about #51. I don't think it does.. would be good to know compliance date to give rough build date estimate.
  14. By the way if you get a chance I'd love to know the VIN no. 72s are actually quite thin on the ground.
  15. Nice, I'd call it a revival or reassembly. Since restoration usually means going back to original. Good luck, rust work is the hardest part of fixing these cars I find. So this should be relatively straight forward provided someone can guide you who is familiar with these cars.
  16. Thanks Peter.
  17. Hey Cuong, You never posted photos of this car and I don't have it on my records. Do you have any photos of it? Do you still have it?
  18. Thanks @peter t for your latest contribution!
  19. Set of Triple 44's for sale. $3,500 USD. https://www.classiczcars.com/classifieds/item/319-44-mikunis/
  20. Agree I put a modern gasket on my rocker cover of the white 240z and it still leaks!
  21. Yeah, different to what I thought you meant. Someone was saying the other day to use modern sealants instead of cork gaskets..
  22. Q. Why do you want a set? They are optional on early Z's. Seem to have come along with the 280zx?
  23. Thanks @boyblunda for the latest donation. Took me a couple of days to spot it, since it came in via Bank Deposit. not PayPal.
  24. Well after piecing together a gallery of HS30s for the past few weeks I'm already exhausted. And that's about 400 cars.. can't imagine how Katayama went removing badges from 4000 of them! Nissan must have been paying him well.
