  1. Star of Orion at 50K? http://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/Mitsubishi-Starion-1982/SSE-AD-148161/?Cr=1 A tad optimistic perhaps? I don't think Starion's are there yet!
  2. I seem to recall a discussions on this conversion. Is there a thread that details what's involved to make it work in an S30z?
  3. Australian delivered 240z's didn't have the turn signals in the guards. It was introduced with the 260z's.
  4. To the original poster (OP) - is this car still for sale? Please list more details and a price if possible. Having a thread sit here in limbo isn't fair to those looking for an S30z.
  5. Perhaps not so cheap anymore? http://bringatrailer.com/2015/09/12/46k-mile-survivor-1974-toyota-celica-st/ http://www.ebay.com/itm/1974-Toyota-Celica-ST-/331648695410 Winning bid:US $14,099.00 [ 61 bids ] which is ~$19K AUD at current exchange rate.
  6. Doesn't it just drive you nuts? It's a shame those things happened, but on a positive side I'm glad to see you let Nissan France borrow it for their display. They look good together and it's important these cars are displayed at such events. How does 1 break a drivers seat though? Must have been a heavy set individual? How did they explain the half broken key to you though? I'd love to have seen that.
  7. I would like to know, but I actually got another early 240z console from the US recently and it contains a bunch of fasteners which might be correct. Only problem though is I don't have a tap and die set with a way to measure the thread / pitch size etc..
  8. Looks like they have been stealing our supply of good S30z's for a while now . That's what we get for undervaluing them for so long I suppose...
  9. Plenty of photos of the block here: http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/11264-safari-brown-i-mean-gold-the-nsw-project/?p=138264 It's a bare block, no rods, cranks, pistons, timing cover, welsh plugs out, sump etc.. it's basically just the block. A piston got seized in the bore, so it will need a light overbore.
  10. That's what I would do also.
  11. Somewhat sad and happy, sad because I wanted it, happy because now I don't have to find the funds haha.
  12. Yes but reply on my thread here: http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/13202-f54-block-l28-for-sale/
  13. I agree original colour is same as engine block. This is how my 73 240z was.
  14. I've never seen chassis rails that straight and clear from damage. Usually they have been beaten half to death. Certainly looks solid.
  15. This is a big part of it, they want it to look like their sites are more active and have more active inventory than they actually do. The smart user though knows which sites are relevant, (in Australia only a couple are actually relevant, CarSales and Gumtree/eBay). The rest is well.... fluff...
  16. The good thing is that we have the chassis number of that Bolwell inspired Z. hs-03102623 Which I guess should be: HS30-102623.
  17. http://www.carstuffshow.com/podcasts/the-datsun-fairlady/ Now this isn't a video, it's a podcast and yes it contains a lot of repeated errors and too much emphasis on the US market and Mr K, they also mentioned "The War". But what they did mention is the Miss Fairlady - which I didn't know much about and then looked it up and found this post on JNC. http://japanesenostalgiccar.com/2012/08/10/the-origins-of-nissans-ginza-gallery-and-miss-fairlady/ Then I remembered the photo of HS30 00063 from back in the day. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/13773-early-girl-bingo-with-photos/ So I am guessing she was a "Miss Fairlady" who would have known quite a bit about the specifications of the S30z.
  18. Looks like it sold...Wonder what it's fate is...?
  19. If there was 1 word you could use to describe that thread it's Schadenfreude. It's a bit like car crash TV you can't not look.
  20. It is amazing what a set of wheels can do, personally I'd love to rock the original TOPY steelies with white wall tyre's or a set of blacked out 15" Watanabe's against 907 green = winning! http://bringatrailer.com/2007/12/07/period-styled-1971-datsun-240z-in-la/
  21. I have read this thread and decided not to return for seconds. As someone mentioned there is a lot of deck chair shuffling on what appears to be the titanic.
  22. Weird HS30 00150 has cad plated hinges, no paint. My 73 was also the same. However my 72 has them painted body colour (red which is not original) and my 260z 2+2 was the same as my 72 (but again not original colour). Just found a photo, looks like it has some safari gold overspray on it. However the center pieces (rods) look to be black and possibly hand painted? Which would be similar to the radiator support panel (brush painted by hand). I'm happy to be corrected on this, although I will admit to preferring the look of it plated as opposed to body colour.
  23. That back seat is the worst idea. You'd have to be 3ft tall.
  24. That 73 is listed as a 71 . We have discussed the Green 907 car pretty extensively previously. (HS30-00675) http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/1924-cars-for-sale-3rd-party-sites-ebay-carsales-etc/?p=164605 Seems like another "don't know their arse from elbow dealer".
  25. Fantastic and red interior too! You mention original paint, but the bonnet hinges appear to be painted and they were originally yellow chromate finish which indicates the engine bay area or bonnet was repainted at some point. Otherwise a very honest looking example and would be an absolute pleasure to restore a car like this.
