  1. It looks like a decent straight car from the photos, but photos hide a lot of problems too! I would either fly up and look at it, or ask someone here to take a look for you who knows the cars well. You might be able to get the owner to drop it at a workshop that can go over it for you and find any faults.
  2. HS30 00371 Somehow it ended up in Oregon. Ex South Australian car. https://goo.gl/photos/eCdietH5sG75AKiHA Currently with: https://www.facebook.com/brian.hatfield.50?hc_location=ufi
  3. It's not my cup of tea, but the guy who did it is pretty chuffed with it.
  4. Kia Part No.s 0K018-59760B and 0K018-58760B http://forums.hybridz.org/topic/83080-new-weatherstrip-alternative/?p=815374 Alternatively it seems that this also works well: Part number 1120A33 from McMaster-Carr http://forums.hybridz.org/topic/83080-new-weatherstrip-alternative/?p=845390 Rear hatch fitment. http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/34633-kia-sportage-weatherstip-rocks/?do=findComment&comment=315088
  5. Does anyone know if the Kia seals work on the rear hatch also? *Edit read here: http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/7768-msa-weatherstrips-firmtment-issue/ See also: http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/7768-msa-weatherstrips-firmtment-issue/?p=90486
  6. Yes, time to flex that pacific peso muscle lol...
  7. RHD Fairlady Z-L in the US. 1971 Datsun 240Z Authentic Nissan Fairlady Z JDM Right Hand Drive Supe - $38500 (Torrance) http://losangeles.craigslist.org/wst/cto/5827574965.html I'll be in LA around the 25-27th of October.
  8. http://page22.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/l365740048 Starting bid: 4,320,000 yen 1973 Fairlady 240Z-L specification, looks like GP Maroon. This car will be a HS30 prefix chassis car. Fog lamps look close to OEM, but given how rare they are I am not sure they are originals.
  9. The day of finding a 240z for under $10k are fast evaporating. Especially 1 that has had rust repairs already done. It doesn't look like there is much rust to be fixed left on that car.
  10. Yes please! Great car.
  11. Fairlady Z, no 260z's in Japan. That's why I said replica .
  12. 2 seater door trims (for 75 model?) http://page16.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/u118624827 Looks like it has the door lock position to suit early 260z 2 seater cars. However verify for yourself. Pretty rough also. I tried to acquire a NOS set recently but they sold for over $1,500 AUD.
  13. Nice 240ZG replica. http://page4.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/d206032803

  15. Wish I could make it, sadly in the US at this time. Always happens...
  16. Really happy for you George, and really happy to see you save #19. A car worth saving and now worth good money also. You may not have done it for ROI but that is just a bonus now. I love the way Safari Gold looks in the sunlight, it's almost yellow. Well done to Paul also, looking at the car now you wouldn't be able to tell it was even restored!
  17. Not much to update. Unfortunately our regular teacher is busy taking another class and we have another teacher who isn't an old school panel beater, more a new school panel beater who isn't able to guide us through some of the more advanced stuff. I am hoping next year we get our old teacher back, but the way tafe is being run I don't know what the future holds. Anyway using what I know so far I've shaped the edge of the bonnet skin replacement piece which has a tricky edge on it. I've also been working out smaller dings in the bonnet, which are hard to photograph. I'm basically just giving things a go without any direction here. So we will see how this turns out .
  18. Thanks, I guess my 72 240z won't qualify then as it's had 1 repaint in it's life.
  19. Looks like someone here was after 1? http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/14672-nissan-ld28-crankshaft-v07/?p=183950
  20. What qualifies as a survivor?
  21. Yes but I suspect it had it retrofitted later - perhaps from another S30Z or another early Nissan like the Super 6 that also had a 2.4ltr motor and that cover.
  22. To my knowledge there was only 1 HS30 manufactured in 1969 and my assumption is that it was HS30 0003. Therefore almost all HS30's sold in Australia were 1970 models. The very first cars had a Nissan 2400 OHC cover, which appears to be cut off around HS30 00090 range.. From what I've gathered. This coincides with a June/July build date - which is when it appears HLS30's stopped receiving the cover also. HS30 00150 appears to have been built in August/September and just missed out on the early style cover, along with HS30 00149 and HS30 00151 all 3 didn't have that style cover.
  23. There is 2 versions of the BIG Nissan cover. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/13512-nissan-big-valve-cover/
  24. Thanks, that confirms they were silver and not black! Agree, the car just looks that bit neater with it on. You can still find them around, but getting harder to locate. The ones I have will need some hammer time to straighten them out a bit. Geez, that Safari Gold with all the plated hardware looks great! I can't wait to be at that point in the build.
  25. They tend to sell around $400+ in Japan. There is a plastic cover also, which for some reason is expensive. I still don't know why because I think it's ugly myself. In South Africa they got the BIG NISSAN cover but it said NISSAN OHC on it. Not sure what it's worth because the fan boys haven't copped onto it yet. Personally my favorite is the Nissan 2400 OHC cover. .
