  1. Lately price differences haven't been that extreme. It seems more important re: overall condition of bodywork/interior and mechanical work such as modifications Triple carbs etc..
  2. 2 kids will do that.
  3. Provided the OP of this thread found 1 already, I may be interested. Can you send me a PM with price and location?
  4. 61 Kelvin Grove, Langwarrin, Vic 3910 https://www.realestate.com.au/sold/property-acreage+semi-rural-vic-langwarrin-137705390 I would have loved to buy this, but too much mortgage for me to deal with. I'd seen it featured here a few years ago.
  5. I'm impressed with the bonnet repair, because I know how hard it is to get that front droop fixed after they had a smack. I spent ages repairing the 1 off #150 and still wasn't 100% happy with it.
  6. Aborted 250 GTO project. If you'd like help with finishing the 250 GTO project, contact @C.A.R. https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/frankston/cars-vans-utes/datsun-240z-project-gto250/1285343498 Datsun 240Z Project GTO250 $25,000
  7. Yep I remember those times well... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pets.com
  8. Yes, I recall living in Europe after the GFC and reading about BitCoin early in 2010 and I was very intrigued by it. I had no idea how to start using it or buy into it but I was tempted to start using it then. 2015 I was going to buy some at $900 a coin (probably 2) but was talked out of it by my then manager at Google. Truth be told I probably would have cashed in during the 2017 price boom, but I still regret not buying back then! I also contemplated buying again at the start of Covid when the world's banks started their massive QE program, but I was nervous about allocation my money into it at the time because I was unemployed and had a child on the way and was starting to pay a mortgage and nobody was hiring (I left my job to move back to Melbourne at precisely the wrong time).. Anyway if I had of bought at those times I would have done well. But I'm quite conservative with risk taking and only gamble what I'm willing to lose. But my advice to young people is don't bother saving into a traditional savings account. Instead buy into a stock / index fund instead. And just HODL during the market dips / crashes.. I made the mistake of saving money via bank deposits for several years.
  9. I think it's also why they are desperste to reboot migration. Because migrants are willing to accept lower wages and worse working conditions (at an aggregate level), which gives business a cheap labor pool, that's why they keep saying inflation is transitory. Because without migration they would need to offer higher wages and better working conditions to attract local workers, which would have the effect of causing wage inflation.. And the problem is not migrants themselves, it's the workers collective bargaining power has been destroyed over 30 years. Many migrants come from counties with even worse working conditions and lower wages, hence will accept poor conditions here becuse from their frame of reference things are much better here. But I think rebooting migration won't work because there are supply side challenges causing inflation due to restrictions abroad for workers which is slowing supply chains, pushing the price of goods up. And that is harder to solve. As for rates going up, it appears they are doing everything in their power to keep them low, even in the face of crazy inflation in specific assets. And if there is a market crash of some sort (stocks / real estate / other assets) the solution from a central banker perspective is to just print more money and push rates back to 0%. I honestly don't see how they chart a path out of this mess. It seems raise rates market crashes. Keep rates low prices of assets continue to go nuts, but wages remain stagnant. So yeah buy a GTR, or something of value to many people. I've bought some BitCoin (small amount <$10k) as a hedge against this stupidity. Even if some think BTC$ is stupid. So far it's been far better than holding cash in the bank. This is of course not financial advice but I'm also doing things to lower my bills like installing solar panels to offset energy costs. And I managed to negotiate a 50% pay bump in my new job. (Not everyone is so lucky I know). Also want to expand the veggie patch in my yard.
  10. Inflations is a hidden form of taxation and IMHO is a form of theft. On earnings you've already paid tax on.
  11. Hi Hamood, Not sure on your location but I didn't go ahead with this due to the fact plenty of suppliers have this product and quality is high. If you're in Australia I can point you to a supplier.
  12. Well that's the whole point, inflation means rising prices. Some assets have risen more than others. But official inflation rates don't factor in assets like classic cars, cost of houses (only rent) and things like crypto or stocks. But try and they might to hide inflation, it's massive right now and for me that's why I'm long assets as short on cash.
  13. Which car are you talking about?
  14. Think it was in Toowoomba mid lockdowns last year. Asking around $2k. What's current owner wanting to get?
  15. Yes D caps are expensive. Yes they need restoration but this is only 2! Over $2,000 USD. https://www.ebay.com/itm/194425472625?hash=item2d44a94671%3Ag%3AIrcAAOSwvQJhYJyZ&vxp=mtr&nma=true&si=hpDM%2Bt%2Fv7hd1AweaLVXyh7HmpDw%3D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
  16. No, I'm not bidding... https://www.ebay.com/itm/384487202305
  17. Did anyone buy this or catch the VIN #?
  18. Have you been given an indication of price?
  19. https://www.carsguide.com.au/car-news/can-the-nissan-gt-r-toyota-supra-and-mazda-rx-7-reach-the-high-prices-of-the-holden 90s Japanese halo cars on the rise..
  20. Will be interesting to see if it runs any different afterwards.
  21. Photos are good, and no I don't have that car on the registry. Thanks! Added here:
  22. Not good ones. Bent lower valance/bumper etc.. indicators look 73. This car is a bit of a bitsa. Hodge podge of parts from different years.
  23. Yikes that rail profile looked way out. Nice work getting them in though! But on the plus side those photos really show how the 260z structure is more rigid than the earlier 240z floor pans and rails! Those extra folds and creases will increase rigidity quite a bit over a flat bit of floor like in the 240z.
  24. I've noticed this with quite a few classic cars lately. RBA is saying rates will to up etc.. maybe for a bit but they will come right back now at next crisis.
