  1. Totally worth it. IMHO.. Has all the early S30Z features (not the 2400 OHC cover) but a late build for those details. Hence very rare to see them in that colour! Build tag says 1/71 which would be very last of what North American's would refer to as "series 1" even though that term doesn't really make sense in the context of S30Z's.
  2. Did you get done again Peter?

  4. 2 mins in spot the 240z
  5. Article on that Ferrari. https://www.9news.com.au/motoring/2018/06/21/16/36/ferrari-250-gto-1962-sothebys-auction
  6. For comparison I think this is a 74 model in Japan. http://buyee.jp/item/yahoo/auction/g275455294 Asking around $50k. Different markets, but your car has more appeal to me and no import costs!
  7. Great car, wonder if it sold last time? I saved these photos. https://goo.gl/photos/KByRfi3z6Brmgs1d8
  8. Not sure about Windoze these days, but on Mac using Preview it's very easy, just use the export feature. This image went from a 4.5mb png file down to a 300kb jpg.
  9. Sadly, yeah and that's typical of TV shows.
  10. You couldn't do it, until about 20 mins ago. I don't think moderators have any size limitations on their images. But yes for an end user perspective it will help to reduce image sizes. I am hoping the imagemagik software mentioned above improves compression and allows for better optimisation of images on the server.
  11. RH mirrors for cheap! https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/60222-datsun-240z-right-hand-mirror/
  12. So I've set it to 500kb for regular members and 1000kb for donating members. I noticed that my image was over 2mb and that would be no good for mobile users etc.. So I compressed it (was .png) but now .jpg and it went from 2mb down to 400kb with a little compression and I can't see any obvious quality difference. So it's worth compressing if you can just a bit. Don't want bogged down heavy profile pages. Cheers,
  13. I just enabled cover photos for everyone, so you should now be able to add 1. Other updates. 1. Gave Peter some more abilities... use them wisely lol.. 2. Highlighted replies from forum admin's / moderator's. Nice usability touch. 3. Looks like missing avatars for members might be due to use of .png files for avatars. Will check to see if that's supported in new version.. 4. Realised that http://php.net/manual/en/book.imagick.php is not installed on server. May further improve image handling if installed...
  14. Time to find GRS30 000019 perhaps?
  15. Hi Dave, Can you see the options to the right hand side? A drop down menu? I haven't set any restrictions yet (although I think my image was huge and probably should have been trimmed down and optimized - so not sure if it makes me profile page load slowly)? You can reposition the image etc.. to suit. Cheers, Gavin.
  16. Congratulations. Boy or girl this time mate?
  17. I will keep an eye out for a suitable car.
  18. Yep, I'd believe it. Good work always costs good money. The Fuji Auto Cobra wheels on the car are super rare, I haven't seen another set anywhere! I have been trying to decide how best to restore them. I kind of wanted to black them out, since I like the contrast of black wheels on a white car. Then I thought about having the center section in a gunmetal grey with the polished outer lip. However now I'm thinking gold center's with polished lip on a white car and white letter tyres would be a great combo. This might be a little too flamboyant.. Or perhaps a little more subtle like this.
  19. Sorry to hear that, I'm guessing it's not salvageable? 2+2s have certainly become harder to find (in decent restorable shape).
  20. Yeah added photos above, might save them for future reference!
  21. Hope it wasn't an S30Z?
  22. Nos left frame rail. https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/caboolture/auto-body-parts/nos-datsun-240z-s30-lh-frt-rail-section/1187448630
  23. Thanks Alan, I think that summary is a good overview of how I feel about the topic as I know you do too and hence why you bang on about the Rally Car identities. I also couldn't help but think of Big Sam and it's previous life as a "thinner" (PZR style body) and it's rebirth as another car later down the track etc.. This gave me a good chuckle. Having seen this multiple times on various forums and places like BAT. This is what I thought of in particular when I saw the auction that started this discussion. As mentioned I've seen the sale of Spirit R plates for an FD3S being offered in a similar vein, although it would be very hard to fake such a car (I'm sure many try) given the chassis no. is checkable against a Mazda database. Along with all the unique parts for that model, but I've seen a rather craft individual here in Australia attempt to rebirth an AU market FD (which all had sunroof's like the UK spec cars) as a Spirit R and no late model FDs had sunroof's... Go figure. Like I mentioned above, a true enthusiast will usually be able to spot the fakes (given enough time to examine the details) but the less educated individual may find themselves with something that isn't as it was described.
  24. Perfect, that will make it immutable.
