  1. Hey mate, I started to have a play with mine and got a few of them working. So I decided to keep going, however I went to JayCar to find the replacement capacitors and resistors for the later 260z clocks, but haven't had a go at repairing it yet. If that fails I'll send you mine for the old man to fix.
  2. 2+2 rear 1/4 emblems and moulded in rear hatch? I like how it's set in a specific era still, hasn't been updated stylistically. It's cool.

It seems relatively honest, but I'd go see it in person first before bidding.
  5. Hey Guys, Ran a minor update last night, looks like there was a javascript error causing grief afterwards which I didn't notice until this AM. I've since flushed the cache and it appears to be working fine. The update was a minor security patch with some other bug fixes, usually not an issue. However if you had trouble replying on threads etc.. that was my fault. If you're still having issues please try clearing cached files in your browser etc..then try again. If you can reply to this topic I assume things are working again.

  7. Welcome, well that's a nice score (260z 2 seater for $1k), its looks relatively original also. Rear hatch rust looks quite severe, perhaps that was most exposed to the elements? Looking forward to seeing the journey of this car.
  8. Subscribing for future updates!
  9. Clean 2+2 https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/gilmore/cars-vans-utes/datsun-260z/1196510652 Asking $27k
  10. Not sure that's how the man flu works.
  11. What I don't get about the Jimny and is mentioned in the article above is that the Japanese market cars have 600cc engines! It's slow enough for with a 1.3L motor. I know as a K-car they have to fit certain dimensions and engine size for that class. But I can't imagine my Jimny being any slower than it already is. I drove an automatic version once and it was terrible. I was looking at the Fujitsubo website and hoping they did a high flow cat for the FD3S but could only find catback systems. Looking at their legalis R system it appears to be split in 2 all the way back from the collectors on the headers and never merged into 1 unit. Given that they claim to look at "performance" first I found this kind of weird, my own experience with a split system was that switching it over to a merged style collector improved things all around in the rpm range. Hence I'm not sure if there is any performance benefit to running 2 pipes all the way to the exit? It seems to me you'd have twice the weight (with 2 pipes) and half the performance?
  12. I could potentially be interested in. 1. Windscreen A-pillars. 2. Rear valance section upper half (what's left of it). 3. Area around fuel filler. 4. Firewall sections I'll be down in Melbourne in a few weeks..
  13. Cool and they even do exhaust systems for the Suzuki Jimny, winning!
  14. @Léon is in Warragul area. Not exactly Moorabbin.
  15. Following..
  16. Damn bargain! I'd grab these too haha.
  17. haha, wait until I re-plate the fasteners and hardware, I'll get back my vapour blasted timing cover and install new coolant parts like thermostat housing etc..might change out the freeze plugs for fun. I'll end up spending more money on dressing it up than the block cost me. Let's just hope it runs ok, will have to test it out soon.
  18. Painted the L24 block today and placed the red wrinkle valve cover on it just to get an idea of how it would look. I need to send the fasteners and other hardware off for yellow cad plating to be done. The paint match is pretty good I think, perhaps a little bit darker than the original, but the original may have faded lighter over the years.
  19. Not quite to my style, but cool.
  20. Will try to remember to do this later, feel free to PM me if I appear to have forgotten.
  21. He's on the wrong side.
  22. Do you know if it was originally 905 red?
  23. This needs to become a meme.
  24. Hard to know for sure, my guess is the firewall was transplanted. Lots of poor weld work. It was previously a rally car. I'm guessing it could be an amalgamation of cars. Funny to see the number live on however. At first we got excited to find a low vin # car. But as we can see so few early cars are original / complete now. I'm always hopeful more are to be unearthed. I've heard a rumour around #6 being an ex Arnold Glass dealership car that was crashed then stored away in a shed. But it's still hearsay until we see photos or evidence. I like to think it's true.
  25. I am not sure, it could have come like that. My 72 240z (Build date Dec 71) had a unique gearbox mount and was delivered with a 71A box, but had a later 72+ style console. I've seen option boxes also with the flange attachment (but of the 71B style). So it may be a transitional item for a short period of time, like my 72 gearbox mount. I have a 71A driveshaft in the garage if you want photos for comparison or measurements?
