oldmates260z Posted May 6, 2008 Posted May 6, 2008 Side on it looks like the original 240Z, very nice. I have one thanks! Where did these photos come from? Are the just a "artistic impression"? Quote
Toecutter Posted May 6, 2008 Author Posted May 6, 2008 Yer found them o n Classic Z. MrCamo (user) posted them. From memeory the thread advised some guy in Sweden did them as and it is not a concept car. I reckon it should be though! Sulio Quote
620Z Posted May 6, 2008 Posted May 6, 2008 I reckon it looks great. Where do I get those rear lights? Quote
benny Posted May 7, 2008 Posted May 7, 2008 hey guys wasnt a huge fan of the taillights so changed it a bit for 240 style and added hatch vents Ben Quote
pauly_adams Posted May 8, 2008 Posted May 8, 2008 lets just say i nearly had a accident when i seen this. if it was ever produced i would buy one. cheers pauly Quote
George Posted May 8, 2008 Posted May 8, 2008 very nice. looks pretty tough imo. i'd love that front end. thanks for posting. Quote
620Z Posted May 8, 2008 Posted May 8, 2008 I think it looks even better because it's guards, Front and Rear appear to be pumped out. If not for that I would say it would be an even more acheivable project. I would love to see someone re produce that front end. I reckon you would sell a packet of them if you went into production. Sits nice and low as well. Quote
RBZ 260 Posted May 9, 2008 Posted May 9, 2008 i think who ever did that drawing is bloody good. but i did notice few things were borrowed from the miura concept car expecialy the rear light. Quote
Toecutter Posted May 9, 2008 Author Posted May 9, 2008 Yer the Miura concept car was my first thought when I saw that rear end but the guy certainly has got taste as that thing is also beutiful, both the "new" and old one of my favourate shaped cars. Sulio Quote
George Posted May 9, 2008 Posted May 9, 2008 made a bit of a montage of this. size is set to suit my desktop but it'll do alright for most widescreens. Quote
620Z Posted May 11, 2008 Posted May 11, 2008 Yeah if I hadn't done all that work on my car (front & rear) and seen this first I reckon I would have tried to emulate it on my car. Too late now. Quote
modular9 Posted May 14, 2008 Posted May 14, 2008 and apparently here is what it most likely will look like http://jalopnik.com/390264/2010-nissan-370z Note the 260z 2+2 rear quarter windows FTW ! Oh and it is hotter than 19 yards of chicken giblets with onions on the side. Quote
stevo_gj Posted May 16, 2008 Posted May 16, 2008 want. If that car was ever produced I would buy immediately! As a project that wouldn't be impossible to reproduce, but very costly If I had 50K lying around... Quote
Toecutter Posted May 16, 2008 Author Posted May 16, 2008 a You Tube vid with more angles of that concept car! http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=oRMq0xeOiRI Sulio Quote
mikedoeslife Posted May 17, 2008 Posted May 17, 2008 I'm not a fan, but the tail light modification that dzeyene made is a huge improvement to the rear. Quote
benny Posted May 17, 2008 Posted May 17, 2008 thanks man ... it just looked to lambo for a dasun/nissan imo the dual lenses give it the extra classic look.. Ben Quote
mikedoeslife Posted May 17, 2008 Posted May 17, 2008 http://www.themotorreport.com.au/4721/if-nissan-took-a-leaf-out-of-fords-book/ Hah! Quote
Toecutter Posted May 18, 2008 Author Posted May 18, 2008 Hah indeed! Hey they've linked the artical to this thread, must have got the pics from this thread also. If only some of the people in Nissan took some notice. You know it's a bit ironic that you often hear the Japanese were/are well known for taking a good product and mass producing it to a pretty good standard and price. So the old 240z taking design cues from some Euro cars cracked the US market and blitzed it in the day. So now we move forward to the Japanese cars of today and we have companies like Lexus making cars that look like Mercs and are probably on parr with them in Quality and yet (unlike say the Americans cashing on the Mustang and Germans, BMW on the Mini) they don't go back and make some easy money by going down the retro look with one of their best selling Japanese sports cars of all time, the 240z! Go figure hey. We've gone down the path of how all this retro stuff can be seen as lack of imagination regarding evolving the look of the car but who cars I really like the look of this thing, look at the 911 they tried to kill that off but it did'nt happen because of all those devoted to the car in that form.
