Hi Guys thought i'd post up and see what colour(s)  that everyone's Z's are.

Or what colour(s) they are going to get.

Curious to see just how many different colours are out there on Z's in Australia.

Feel free to post pics if you have.  ;D

Cheers Tai

Im going Matador Red

Wow that looks almost like a candy red. Is that a lexus colour or custom? Do you know if thats a multi layer metallic/pearl/candy or just a 'off the gun' topcoat colour.

My Z is currently Ferrari red, but it was originally silver and I'm thinking of going back to Silver probably not the original shade found on Z's but something a bit brighter. Like this lovely looking Porsche hot rod.

With a bright red interior like this Porsche.

I'm going factory 918 orange

I was considering this, but at the moment I'm leaning towards something a bit lighter/brighter, like ford electric orange (ie XR5). Although I don't want it to look like a taxi (which are orange up here)...

My 2+2 is some sort of candy red...

I know the feeling

I still have one guard on my car which is pearl black which Peter Mc saw up close when he came over to my place, even after all this time the paint on it is mirror flat and looks stunning in the sun and often I think about going down that track again.

I like Matador because the way it throws off light will look spectacular on the curves of a Zed body.

I agree I reckon that Matador red will look awesome and one of a kind. But the black will give it that aggressive look. I've never owned a car before that seems to look good in every colour like the Z.

Tungsten. Sort of a metalic silver/grey.

I like the Porsche rat rod colour Gav mentioned. It's like an old DC3 aluminum beer can.

The silver that Ben chose for his project car is pretty neat.

I also think satin black or matt black is under rated. It's simplicity and minimalist appearance is appealing.

I'm currently thinking of changing some panels (inspection hatches, bonnet, rear hatch, bumpers, front lip) to satin black and leaving the rest in tungsten.

Just had to add a comment here for those thinking of painting their cars Red or White.

I did a few restorations when I had my shop and was always asked what the best red and white colors were as far as depth and color clarity and the answer is

Red = Porsche's Guards red.

White = Mercedes Arctic Weiss

Guards red is the redest red you can get and has great color depth, when used as a base color rubbed back and cleared over you wont find a better red period.

Arctic Weiss is a blue based white, many white colors verge on a yellow tint, this color uses blue in it and is as the name suggests Arctic ice in appearance, when you put the color chip next to lets say Fords snow white, the Ford color looks dirty and yellow.

Cheers

Yep, another orginal 112 lime yellow.

I have always liked the factory colours.

I think that's what the original colour of my car was from what I found when I stripped the interior.  It's now Ford Toxic Green.  I hated the colour when I first bought the car but it grew on me so I stuck with it  :)
