benny Posted August 23, 2011 Author Posted August 23, 2011 Home and safe from the roadtrip. The zed performed reasonably through the whole trip, had 2 little issues. The first was it overheated and boiled over once, not sure what her problem was there, filled it up and drove another 600KM and it was fine?? The second was when we stopped on the top of Mt. Hotham, we were there for an hour or so then jumped back in, took ages to start and kept cutting out, at the moment im just putting it to the high altitude?? We also decided on a name for her, Betty!! Here are some photos from Mt. Hotham Quote
Jimbo Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 Hey Benny, Which way did you go? You should have yelled out & I would have come for a squirt with you. Your car looks great!!! I would say you are right about the altitude. Jim Quote

benny Posted September 19, 2011 Author Posted September 19, 2011 Thought i should post an update!! Decided last week i needed to lower it, the fronts turned out great but the rears are too low, i cut a whole coil rather then half a coil, anyway lesson learned. Ive also ordered a urethane kit from the US and will soon be ordering a few other suspension bits. The plan is to remove the whole rear suspension setup, get it blasted and powder coated and new bushes. And then do the same with the front. At the moment the car is super tail happy which is kind of cool but also lame if i want go anywhere quickly. On the cruise the other-day i was coming up to the corner and the car understeered so bad nearly put me into another car. After that decided to head home as it looked like it was going to start raining which would of made matters worse. Redoing the whole suspension and getting it setup correctly should relieve these problems. Will take some pictures tomorrow of the new stance. Quote
luvemfast Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 Maybe leave things as is if $$$'s are the issue. Rather than, well, your little mistake. I understand you're on a tight budget, but Betty is more of a concourse car than a boyracer. Quote
