reverendzed Posted December 31, 2010 Posted December 31, 2010 Hi guys, After speaking with a number of members of our AusZcar family we feel it would be a great idea to have a get together and BBQ and beer in memory of Kyle and look forward from this tragic event to the many great things that 2011 will bring to each one of us. The suggestions at this stage is Friday 7th january at Sulios factory for an evening BBQ or Saturday 8th at a location to be determined. please post your thoughts on best dates etc. This is a great opportunity to get together with mates and be reminded to 'look out for one another' in 2011. Cheers, Rev. EDIT by Sulio on 5th Jan, 10.13am, (update, we have decided to make it this Friday afternoon at 6pm onwards), Note the correct street address is Howleys Rd as ammended below: Address is: 5/54 Howleys Road,, Notting Hill. It's the factory at the far end of the driveway, yes tucked away but very secure and plenty of room for parking and chit chat. Quote
620Z Posted December 31, 2010 Posted December 31, 2010 The 7th on Friday night might be a more focal/intermit meeting. But I am easy either time. Maybe we should see if people can gather any photo's they have of their time with Kyle and print them out. Or DVD's of our trips away. Bring them along we can play or look at them and then maybe Lurch can pass them on to his father who might find some comfort in some happy memories or another side of Kyle he hadn't seen when out with the boys? 620Z Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 Hope we are all good for tonight. Should be fine and warm. Nice drinking/BBQ weather and for dribbling a bit of crap about how good our Zeds are. Ha Ha Quote
reverendzed Posted January 7, 2011 Author Posted January 7, 2011 Great stuff Craig, see you there! I'll have to dribble about Zeds of the past I'm afraid! Rev. Quote
Scoota G Posted January 8, 2011 Posted January 8, 2011 Well i would like to say it was a uneventful trip home for the Ballarat crew but i can't, coming up Pentland Hills a 4WD with horse float had caught on fire and halted traffic. By the time we got there it was all fully alight and no fire crews were in sight. I bolted up the road, got as close to it as i could and video'd the whole thing. You could feel the heat and small explosions from across the highway. Minutes later the first of three CFA appilances arrived and put out the fire in what seemed forever but only took a few minutes, well done you brave lads. The side of the Highway had also started to burn. Everyone managed to escape the burning vehicile with a hand full of horses also being rescued. Needless to say both horses and owners were quite distressed as it took half an hour for the first appliance to arrive and many motorists just drove past either unwilling or unable to render assistance. Stay tuned for utube video. Quote
Toecutter Posted January 8, 2011 Posted January 8, 2011 Scoota our roaming reporter, glad to hear everyone was ok. I had a good night, great weather. We pulled chairs out under the warm night sky after the BBQ and fired up the LCD to watch some old Auszcar videos. We did'nt leave until midnight chatting away with Craigoes. David's 240/M3 build was great to hear about but I'm sure he'll let us all in on it in time and can't wait to see some progress on that...oh and looking forward to Thredbo! Cheers, Sulio Quote
