WA240Z Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 Hi all, I have been looking at this great site for a while now and thought its about time I register and join in on some of the discusstion. I have owned my '73 240z for around 19 years now. It has follwed me around the country as I am orginally from Sydney, then QLD for a couple of years and now in Perth for the last 5 years. The car is pretty much standard as I purchased it, still has orginal L24, paint colour, interior etc. I only get to have decent drive in it about once a month. I am sure I spend 3 times as much time looking after it as I do driveing it, though it is a great car to drive, especially for weekends away in the country, where there are some decent driving roads to be found. Anyway, I have included a few pictures if anyone is interested. Quote

Moderators Zedman240® Posted October 5, 2009 Moderators Posted October 5, 2009 Another welcome! looks like the bonnet vent was installed into a non vented bonnet...no raised edge around the vent. Looks nice and clean! makes me want to have an interior again! hahaha Quote
zzzzed Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 nice mate I have one in mid restoration that is the same colour. Welcome th the club Quote
Administrators gav240z Posted October 5, 2009 Administrators Posted October 5, 2009 Nice, love the colour one of my favorite original colours. Good to see another long term Z owner on here. Quote
WA240Z Posted October 5, 2009 Author Posted October 5, 2009 Thanks to everyone for their welcomes and kind comments. Yes the bonnet vent is in a 240 bonnet. There are a few minor things that the original owner, I am the second, changed on the car. I would guess that this was put in at the same time as the front air dam was installed and the lower sills painted black. Quote
chris240 Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 veeeery nice... now that the minning rush is over you should move back to the eastern states Quote
zedevan Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 love the colour also - i painted my lower sills black to cover rust, hopefully thats not the same reason they did it but sounds like that happened ages ago now! Quote
RB26DETT Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 Welcome, at last another zed owner in little Perth! Your car looks very clean and tidy I have five 2 seaters at the moment ... Quote
WA240Z Posted October 7, 2009 Author Posted October 7, 2009 love the colour also - i painted my lower sills black to cover rust, hopefully thats not the same reason they did it but sounds like that happened ages ago now! Yeah, the sills would have been painted 20+ years ago. I have always been in two minds as to whether I like the black or not. I quess as I have had it for 19 years I mustn't mind it too much. As with any car of this age there is a few little blemishes that you can see in the paint work if you look close enough. Quote

Thanks, I would say that is just being greedy , but i'd have five as well if I could. One for weekends on the road , one for historic SC, one for marque sports, one for tarmac rallies, and I don't know one as a spare. Quote
Mr Camouflage Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 Welcome, at last another zed owner in little Perth! Your car looks very clean and tidy I have five 2 seaters at the moment ... How many of them drive? Quote
RB26DETT Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 they are all running cars but only one is kept registered Quote
Mr Camouflage Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 You're doing better than me then, ones in parts (still), the other is in one piece, but had a blown engine when I bought it. Quote
