Is the parts car roof fairly good? I'd be hoping to swap the whole thing in, pillars and all. Rather that than dissecting both roofs and assembling a new one out of bits and pieces. :o

Yea the whole roof is good but was worried about the integral strength of the shell if I do that

Best brace the shell well - triangulate - before going any further, you wouldn't want any deformation affecting the window and door opening dimensions or you may have no end of trouble come assembly time.

That’s the next job, I’ve got 12m of 25mm rhs ready. Probably should have done it before removing the rear quarter but got carried away

Damb braising grrrrrrrr it’s a bastard to unpick and have to remove all traces or the panel won’t weld back on properly. There is lots of it.

What do you think of that POR15 rust treatment paint? Might be good to use on large areas of surface rust. Apparently it's really effective, people painting whole chassis in it, etc.
I'm making progress on my 2+2, doing the spare wheel well at the moment but it's just so bloody hot in Melbourne I'm waiting til later in the day to work.

Will you be able to source a new wheel well? If so where from?

Resurrected classics do a new wheel well panel , but I couldn’t tell you if the 2 seater well is the same as the 2+2…

Ah thanks., Good  Mine was repairable. I'm certain the 2+2 wheel well is the same.

Wow, that looks a good thing.

It has its fair share of tin worm but only two bad patches everywhere else is minor

Anyone know what the two relays are for there under the drivers seat?
