Wonder what she'll fetch, wouldn't take too much to bring her back to 100% original that's for sure. Hope someone doesn't buy it to race it though as the description might suggest. . Quote
Huw Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 Gee that Shannons one is nice....hope it goes to someone with half a brain (who gets rid of the steering wheel (as long as they put another one on) and the chromed air box...). Quote

Oi, there's nothing wrong with having a chromed air box lol. It is a nice Z though, hopefully it finds a nice home. Quote

dalee Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 Why does it have indicators in the guards? I was thinking the same thing Ben, looks to be one of the very first s2 cars - fuse box over - centre console - speedo, etc are all from s2, unless there has been some transplanting of parts going on. As far as I know, indicators in the guards didn't come out until very late 73, so those are newer panels. Quote

Administrators gav240z Posted May 11, 2010 Author Administrators Posted May 11, 2010 Here is a nice looking white 240z. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/DATSUN-240Z-/250628614101 Great for restoration to original condition. Quote
Administrators gav240z Posted May 11, 2010 Author Administrators Posted May 11, 2010 Carsales this time. http://www.carsales.com.au/all-cars/private/details.aspx?R=8707255 Cheeky beggar using another photo of a 240z. 260z 2 seater http://www.carsales.com.au/all-cars/private/details.aspx?R=8668872 After owning and building this immaculate 260z 2-seater for the past 10years I have decided to put it up for sale as I just dont drive it. The car is completely rust free and the paintwork glows with a show room quality paint job in its origional blue. Engine is a L28 that has been stroked to 3.1L, been fully blue printed and dyno tuned, running fuel injection and outputing 165rwkw. The engine recieved the best parts money could buy and took me several years to complete and collect the parts for. The engine has done under a 1000km's since it was built. The Z is very streetable with tonns of torque running a 74 degree cam it can drive up hill in 5th gear at 40km/h and still accelerate! It runs a 6 throttle body fuel injection system, with wolf V4 engine management and a 3 coil direct crank ignition, so it has very useable power and starts first time. The interior is in beautiful very orgional condition as seen in pics. Along with the current setup listed below I will supply a second set of height adjustable suspension, even bigger 300mm rotors front and back with Z32 4-piston calipers. I was origionally going to track race this car hence the parts list below but decided I couldn't risk damaging it, thus it never saw th track. Here the list of parts: Engine (machining/bluprinting/balancing by crankshaft rebuilders) L28 - over bored, press fit plugs drilled replaced with screw in. etc... Stroker crankshft, resized, one piece nose, polished, weighted, etc... Conrods, weighted, shotpend, 9mm arp rod bolts, bushed little end, etc... Ceramic coated full floating pistons Tomie oil pump/ 2mm metal head gasket Billet steal fly wheel/ GTR clutch Ported head, match ported intake manifold, larger valves 74 deg cam, adj sproket etc 6 -efi throlttle body, bosch ms inject 3 coil direct crank ign custom fuel setup 280z gearbox Cusco 1 way diff/ custom axles poly bushings, whiteline swaybars 280mm brakes 4piston calipers WAY MORE but run out or characters... MR260 Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 That 240z on carsales sounds a bit dodgy and maybe a bit too cheap too. Why would ya have photos of another car and not the one your trying to sell? Quote
Administrators gav240z Posted May 12, 2010 Author Administrators Posted May 12, 2010 That 240z on carsales sounds a bit dodgy and maybe a bit too cheap too. Why would ya have photos of another car and not the one your trying to sell? 2 reasons. 1. The actual car you have is so bad you don't want to photograph it. or... 2. You don't know how / are too lazy to upload photo Quote
Administrators gav240z Posted May 12, 2010 Author Administrators Posted May 12, 2010 He also mentions it's 99% rust free. Only $4k almost sounds too good to be true. Quote
kobes Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 if i was in VIc, would almost buy it sight unseen! my guess would be i would turn up and it would be a 280z with no engine! Quote
