Administrators gav240z Posted November 30, 2017 Author Administrators Posted November 30, 2017 Anyone need any of these sections?
russandra Posted December 1, 2017 Posted December 1, 2017 No, but I need the radiator support section that is from that point forward, mine has way too much rust and it also has had a very dodgy repair on it in the past. gav240z 1
gilltech Posted December 1, 2017 Posted December 1, 2017 Mine's taken a thump and been knocked around too. But by the time one drills out all the spot welds (lots and lots), and all those of the replacement, to swap over, and plug welds everything up again, fixing what one has 'in situ' - including making up replacement sections - may well be a quicker and easier solution. I've seen several nose cuts over the years and that bottom rail has always been knocked around and rusty. But, then maybe Gav will come across a Zed graveyard in the dry states somewhere.....
Administrators gav240z Posted December 1, 2017 Author Administrators Posted December 1, 2017 Currently in negotiation regarding these bits.... The first roof has a bit of rust around leading edge (windscreen and not uncommon) but shouldn't be too hard to patch (much better than in the middle. I will probably keep the rear valance for my own restoration at this stage but looking to import the rest. I will do my best to keeping pricing of everything fair, but it's not going to be cheap. However how many local options do you have these days? Rickers 1
Rickers Posted December 1, 2017 Posted December 1, 2017 I'd be very interested in the rear valance if you do pass on it $$$$ If not, I'll take the repairable one off #150 off of your hands. gav240z 1

Even if I get a better 1, I'll probably still try and repair the 1 off #150 just as part of the learning process. I've already started, and want to finish. Will likely sell cheap after or keep as a spare. But I do have another point of contact for sections like these. However need to import a few panels first and see how quickly they sell and at what prices before going ahead with bigger container loads. Rickers 1

Fair enough, if another rear valance could be added to 'a few panels first', I'd love to give you some of my money. My post on classiczcars has had a few leads, but so far I've only received a handful of PM's with pictures of their rusted out rear valances I thought $300-$500USD based on condition was a good price to chuck out there, guess I need to up it a bit.
Administrators gav240z Posted December 18, 2017 Author Administrators Posted December 18, 2017 Well got a roof in today from the US. Small ding in it, should be easy to fix. You can see why they rusted though, check out all those folds! Ponyo240z 1
AndBir Posted December 18, 2017 Posted December 18, 2017 Yep, time for some Eastwoods internal frame coating spray (or similar). gav240z 1
CBR Jeff Posted December 18, 2017 Posted December 18, 2017 You can see why they rusted though, check out all those folds! Yep all those folds, no protective coating and plenty of space for condensation to build up = RUST Jeff
Administrators gav240z Posted March 24, 2018 Author Administrators Posted March 24, 2018 2 more panels on their way (rear 1/4 panels). Progress has been slow, but I may end up needing the left hand side for #150 - but RH side should be for sale.. Unfortunately I missed out on the rear valance (another vulture got in before me).. hate seeing these cars parted out..
Zedhead Posted April 10, 2018 Posted April 10, 2018 I'm keen on a bonnet and some topy wheels dated 1972. Thanks and all the best with your venture. gav240z 1
Administrators gav240z Posted April 10, 2018 Author Administrators Posted April 10, 2018 Friend in SFO reckons he's gonna package up a bunch of stuff for me to ship out of Compton LA. In the interim I have rear 1/4 panels coming in, and I have another roof and door to ship over still.
