Gtv240z Posted August 24, 2016 Posted August 24, 2016 (edited) Sick of your useless Zed wiper motor?! Here is a pretty serious upgrade from a Honda Civic! If you are reading this you are likely well aware of swapping the original Zed wiper motor for a 1990s era Honda Civic wiper motor . If not check this link out for the details: http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/6612-honda-civic-wiper-motor-replacement/ The wiper motor needs 3 new holes drilled , your bracket notched out slightly and a changeover relay wired in to ensure the wipers return to there home position. The spline on the honda motor is exactly the same as the zed one I disassemble, clean , check brushes and armature etc , reassemble and test before sending to the buyer. The wiper motor also comes with the factory socket fitted and the wiring harness that plugs in to it. Any questions let me know, Free postage Australia wide. I am also working on a kit that fits the Honda motor without the need to modifiy the mounting bracket in the Zed, it would also come pre-wired up with relay and plug straight into the factory zed harness AND fit correctly inside the plastic bag the original motor came out of . You would also get a new firewall rubber grommet. If any one is interested in this option please let me know . Price wise this option would probably be $250.. It would be 100% tested in my own 240z prior to dispatch. Edited August 24, 2016 by CraigZ CBR Jeff, Scotty_Rah, Ponyo240z and 1 other 4 Quote
Jezza Posted December 9, 2016 Posted December 9, 2016 Hi Craig, I was wondering if you have managed to design this wiper motor without a any mods to fit into a 240z. I'm looked Ng into changing mine as running veering very slow Quote

Jezza Posted December 10, 2016 Posted December 10, 2016 Hi, I'm interested to purchase one of these from you, what do I need to do? Quote
Gtv240z Posted December 11, 2016 Author Posted December 11, 2016 Hi Jezza, Thanks for your inquiry , yes i have previously made up a kit but for you i would need to make up another. Unfortunately at this time of the year i think it is unlikely i would be able to get one to you until January . December is a very busy time of year for me at work and at home If you are desperate let me know and i will see what i can do , also what year is your 240z ? Thanks Craig 0410 643 209 Quote
Jezza Posted December 11, 2016 Posted December 11, 2016 Hi Craig, I'm not desperate, I'm currently working on my car at this point, it's not registered. January should be fine. If you can start on it whenever is convenient for you that'll be great. Please let me know when ready, thank you. Quote
andyk_79 Posted December 12, 2016 Posted December 12, 2016 Hi Craig. Registering interest in the "no mods" option you were looking at trialling. Thanks Quote
Gtv240z Posted December 13, 2016 Author Posted December 13, 2016 Hi Andy, Thanks for your interest! I am making another kit up shortly but due to this busy time of year with Xmas etc, I don't expect to be able to send you one until mid January.. What year is your 240z, Thanks Craig 0410 643 209 Quote
andyk_79 Posted December 13, 2016 Posted December 13, 2016 Thanks mate - no rush on mine either (current ones work albeit at a slow pace) so no issues if I finally get it sorted for rego. Mine is a '72. One of the jobs for rego is to fit one of your fan blower kits I bough off your ebay close to a year ago !!! Quote
Jezza Posted December 14, 2016 Posted December 14, 2016 Hi Craig, I'm sorry I forgot to mention, mine's a 73 model, thank you. Quote

hmd Posted November 14, 2023 Posted November 14, 2023 I'll save you the trouble, Craig doesn't do it anymore and it's impossible to find the honda wiper motor at the wreckers these days. You can buy this whole plug and play kit from the USA https://www.godzillaraceworks.com/electrical/wiper-motor-upgrade-240z-260z-280z-lifetime-warranty with the USD so strong it's be around AUD$280 landed gav240z, Jeff 74 Z and C.A.R. 3 Quote

Administrators gav240z Posted November 14, 2023 Administrators Posted November 14, 2023 Worth revisiting this old topic perhaps? https://www.viczcar.com/forums/topic/6612-honda-civic-wiper-motor-replacement/ Write up here: http://ace240z.com/HondaMotorUpgrade.html You can find these Honda Motors new on eBay too around $180. But as Alan mentioned in this comment: Thread comment Quote Found out about a Autolcrcn who rewinds original 260 to 80 Amps which is a hell of a lot more powerful than the older set up. A bit pricey at $200 but I now have a re-wired motor that will work fine. Just waiting to get it back home. I 'm inclined to agree that the honda will work at a quicker rate because the rotating arm on motor is lesser than zeds & therefore it must spin faster. I'm not sure if he's referring to the Alternator or the wiper motor though? Jeff 74 Z 1 Quote
