MATTY Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 seriously.... does this look any good?? in its former life it use to be a 300zx or so were are told to believe. any one else thinks this looks like poo?? i can understand and appreicate the level of commitment but still.... http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/261304512104?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649#viTabs_0 and then the price.... Tell him hes dreaming lol Cheers Matty Quote
George Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 seriously.... does this look any good?? Maybe not to you or I but there is obviously a market out there. Price is unrealistic, especially considering it is not finished. Seems like the seller is trying to recoup costs which as we all know never happens in the car scene. Quote
MATTY Posted October 16, 2013 Author Posted October 16, 2013 Hmm thats true George but i dunno what market it would be aimed at?? yeah its nearly impossible to recoup costs on a build given personal tastes but its still got me why any one would invest the time and effort on something that you will get laughed at for owning, but thats my personal opinion Quote
thriller Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 Hmm thats true George but i dunno what market it would be aimed at?? yeah its nearly impossible to recoup costs on a build given personal tastes but its still got me why any one would invest the time and effort on something that you will get laughed at for owning, but thats my personal opinion It'll get laughed at by 'car people', but I bet a surprising amount of the population would think it's fully hektik legit Quote
MATTY Posted October 16, 2013 Author Posted October 16, 2013 Common thriller give the common public population some slack with that fit ment any one would know its not a fully hecktik lambo Quote
George Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 And on top of all that it's auto... I had a good laugh at that. The way I see it, if you have $60k to burn then you must have done something right in your life and hence would have some sense about worth. In other words, good luck trying to find a sucker with $60k. It's not going to happen. Quote
MATTY Posted October 16, 2013 Author Posted October 16, 2013 And on top of all that it's auto... anybody knows all lambos are auto GEZZ!!! get with the times haha. Quote
NZeder Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 Ugly. If you are going have replica Lamborghini then do a good looking lambo and do it dimensionally correct ie space frame and body....something like a miura. Talking of a miura spotted this at Pukekohe race track the other weekend when at the track help a friend with his 240z racecar. Quote
dat2kman Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 Mike, You know any more about that blue Muira replica? What does it start off as? ( hoping not a vw ) The front windscreen is the biggest issue, unless they alter the screen opening to suit something else. I suspect the cancer giving offsett is due to VW track? Bloke in USA converted a Pontiac Fiero V6 into a Muira, did a very nice job, he got an original screen, cost him $8000! AND, there are a pair of oriental gentleman in Slack Creek Qld, trying to make, and sell, Countach replicas, that sit on a VW floorpan, to solve the wheelbase disparity,,,,,,, they shortened the original body mould! Subsequently, none have sold! Quote
44014 Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 There are these guys in the U.K that start with a space frame and make kits .. http://www.extreme-sportscars.com/murci/media/eXtreme_Murci.pdf I think they look ok and they cost less then that abortion on ebay. Quote
Administrators gav240z Posted October 20, 2013 Administrators Posted October 20, 2013 In Ireland I used to see lots of MR2's converted to Ferrari's - I always felt a bit sad inside... http://cars.donedeal.ie/cars-for-sale/ferrari-f355/5551356 http://cars.donedeal.ie/cars-for-sale/ferrari-replica/5519493 http://cars.donedeal.ie/cars-for-sale/ferrari-355-spyder-replica/5335409 http://cars.donedeal.ie/cars-for-sale/ferrari-mr2-nctd-and-taxed-/5784367 http://cars.donedeal.ie/cars-for-sale/ferrari-f355-berlinetta/5797134 http://cars.donedeal.ie/cars-for-sale/ferrari-replica/4830718 http://cars.donedeal.ie/cars-for-sale/mr2-kitcar-ferrari-sold-sold-sold/5767112 I mean, why bother? As soon as you look at the interior the game is up. Then again, I see lots of people driving in the city centre on a Friday night here in their Ferrari's. It's all about status isn't it? "Look at what I have?", when you see men in their 50's / 60's behaving like this, you just think it's sad really. It seems most people who buy these cars or build them like this are doing it not because they are necessarily automotive enthusiasts but want to flaunt a particular image. Surely a car like a proper Ferrari can't really be enjoyed in the city, I know that driving my RX-7 or 240z in traffic does my head in, would much rather be enjoying it on a scenic mountain drive or along the coast etc.. I have no problem with certain replica's like the Shelby Cobra, Daytona Coupe, Ferrari GTO etc.. simply because the originals are unobtainium, but the lambo or the Ferrari replica's just makes me want to cry inside a bit. NZeder Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 Mike, You know any more about that blue Muira replica? What does it start off as? ( hoping not a vw ) No the blue one is the real deal I was just saying if you were going to make a kit car why not something that is really sex on wheels like the Muira not that ugly Lambo whatever 300zx conversion. The only correct way to do a kit is a space frame so the body can replicate the original body 100%. Quote
MATTY Posted October 27, 2013 Author Posted October 27, 2013 But why do it the right way when you can butcher a perfectly good car to make a shite one?? hahahahah plus its Custom so its gotta be worth the coin Quote
