Scoota G Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 Split from: http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,13140.0.html I will try and make it as well. I think you might be right. Same date as our Xmas BBQ We might have to look at moving our BBQ to the week after being Sunday the 8th December? Or week before depending on NDSOC. I will have a chat to Gordo. Why not have the Chistmas meet at the Car Show? Quote
luvemfast Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 Why not have the Chistmas meet at the Car Show? Because that would suck! Quote

luvemfast Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 Because that would suck! Because? They are 2 different events. Xmas BBQ at Gordo's is something I look fowards to and a great catch up with fellow Zeders. The Jap car show is to experience all the other car cultures, I tend not to look at the Z's here. But that's just me! Quote
Moderators Zedman240® Posted August 13, 2013 Moderators Posted August 13, 2013 I think if we have both events together, everyone wold be busy wondering around looking at all the other cars there instead of staying in the one group; I'd prefer separate if possible. Quote

Riceburner Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 agreed +2 two events with Zeds is better than one. I can see Marks point if view, especially for those who have to travel a longer distance to both meets. Quote
lightmaster240z Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 I am aways happy to drive to Melbourne for Z event. Are you boy planning to meet some were on the way Quote
zedevan Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 could have the bbq the day before, so the out of towners only have to drive down once, and could setup camp somewhere for the night? I could probably organize secure off-street parking for the night near the corner of swan and church st. But I'm guessing occupying the entire weekend could be difficult for those with families, and would be nice to have it as two separate things to break them up. Quote

I like that idea, all i need is one of those camping units that they had in the back of the Rana Hatchbacks. Quote
Gordo Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 I have been reading with interest , at first I was thinking ,Cool I get a year off. But there are lots of guys and girls who look forward to the Xmas BBQ. I agree with all the ideas brought forward. Normally we would have the BBQ the first Saturday of the month, that would be the week after Como Park. But for those who would like to do both I understand there is a bit of travel involved. So putting some of you Guys ideas together we could have VicZed BBQ the day before Como Park . Party on ,have dinner and a sleep over in the back yard. I have three large tents to sleep 20. If the weather is not good the garage is big enough to sleep 20 . There is a toilet and Shower in there. Then fresh eggs and bacon in the morning! Any way im easy. You guys thrash it out, and what will be will be. Quote
620Z Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 Hi guys, Well I think it is agreed we will have two seperate events. Can we have a show of hands for Gordon's BBQ to be either Saturday 31st Nov or 7th December. Can we set up one of those pole thingies? Quote

Those "Pole thingies" usually have half naked girls on them, don't they? Maybe we could have a poll? I'm good for the 7th of Dec Quote
Agno Posted August 14, 2013 Posted August 14, 2013 I voted for the 38th because i don't really mind what day the BBQ is held because I'll try my hardest to get there regardless! Quote
MaygZ Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 ..... Cool I get a year off. If Gordo would like the year off - and I can understand why he would like a break - I am happy to hold a BBQ similar to his at my place. Yes I'm back home from farkin far east gippsland. I'm just out of Lancefield and Kilmore. It's under an hour up the Hume from the CBD, 20 mins from the airport, just over an hour from the boys from the 'rat. (2 hours for Lurchos :'( ) There is plenty of room for our displays, plenty of room for camping and with enough notice I could probably slaughter a sheep for the spit. The only issue with my place is that once the extreme fire danger periods start, we don't like to have many visitors. But that tends to be much later in the year. Let me know if I can help. 620Z Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 Well I am looking forward to our annual BBQ at Gordon's place in one months time. We haven't had to many meetings this year. Hopefully we can do a few runs in the coming 2014 year. Along with a long weekend away in Feb. We might discuss a destination on the day. Gordon will have his new race Zed up on the hoist for people to check out. Some amazing work to be seen. I have done a few mods with oil coolers etc on my car. Probably not worth a poll for numbers as we seem to get around 25-30 Zeds and 50-60 people. Gordo will supply the usual Plates, sauce, salads, bread, soft drink etc. I am happy to fund this out of our Bank account. Just bring some meat for the BBQ, alcohol and also your ZED. Let's hope the weather is fine again. Sorry wrong area. Quote
