mossy Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 http://www.rockyauto.co.jp/blog/ I wonder how much this thing cost Quote
Huw Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 I love that shop.... next time I am over there will really need to sneak in. I don't think any of their work would be cheap (obviously) but it always seems to be right on. Unfortunately, the blog does not say much in the way of figures/fun comments, mainly just like a diary of what going on. Should get a copy of the magazine.... Huw Quote
Stivva Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 Wow, thats incredible. Zedsabbath Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 Are those air ducts in the front guards standard in Japan or customized do you think ? Pete Quote
C.A.R. Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 I don't think any of their work would be cheap (obviously) but it always seems to be right on. You would think that, but No. I've seen a couple of photos over the year & many reports that they're work, while nice on the outside, is as rough as guts underneath the paint & the underbody's as well. Huw Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 Although....to be fair Lurch...I am not interested in the body work that they do. The most interesting work they seem to do is the mechanical....which at least according to Japanese Magazines (haven't met/spoken to any customers) is good. Quote
RayRay Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 Interestingly enough I am looking to go down this path of using as many CF parts as I can for my Z. It would be painted though to look like any other 2 seater but underneath the paint hides an anorexic beast that has just went to jenny craig. Quote
Scoota G Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 A guy i used to work for is going to do me a front CF structural spoiler for $280. Quote
Moderators Zedman240® Posted May 14, 2010 Moderators Posted May 14, 2010 Benzed has a good collection of carbon parts for the zed. I remember doing a quick add up for all the carbon parts for the zed like doors, hatch and guards etc and it came to about $9500. Considering rust repairs/panel work it might be cheaper to buy the carbon than do the bodywork! The only carbon I have on my zed for now is on the spark plugs! Quote
stevo_gj Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 I can't see CF being a great long term replacement since it has no endurance limit like steel alloys. Quote
Whittie Posted May 15, 2010 Posted May 15, 2010 I thought I was spending some money on my car at the moment, but that link is INSANE! Quote
sco_aus Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 There was something really distracting in that video, apparently there was a zed in there somewhere lol Quote
Surly_Z Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 http://www.rockyauto.co.jp/blog/ I wonder how much this thing cost I know it's been over a year since this thread was posted, but...... The answer is $238,191 http://www.j-spec.com.au/dealer/1974-Nissan-Fairlady_Z-6088717.html Quote
