thing I found with most small SUV's is that they are underpowered. I took a Mazda CX3 for a test drive and that is its biggest drawback and that was without being loaded up for a weekend away. Styling and features are No.1. Other choices. Skoda Yeti. turbo diesel AWD. Quirky, good quality feel interior. Hyundai IX35. I don't know what these have in them, but they seem to have some poke. I was going up Macquarie pass recently when I kept on hearing something behind me chirping it tyres non stop, then I see it accelerating up the hill to catch me and go past in the overtaking lane, my passenger was a scaredy cat, so I had to be good. I thought as it went past.......WTF!!

My first reaction was WTF. Unfortunately they didn't look like they were on special, so I'll wait until their final days and maybe get some German made ring spanners. They only have the combination ring and open ender Stahlwille. Other stores may have different.

the bubble can only burst if supply overtakes demand, but in Sydney we're a long way from that or if interest rates go crazy. 1600 people move to Sydney each week, not sure how many leave. We've now hit 5 million for a city that can really only handle 4 million. The rate of unit/apartment development in Sydney is the real worry. If they were a cheaper alternative to houses, as once they were, then I wouldn't curse every time I saw a new block going up. But the average unit price isn't that far behind the average house price. I see Sydney with an oversupply of units. Some suburbs are worse than others and people will be unable to sell when times get tough. back on topic..............a bloke I used to work with his father lives in a factory unit with his 10+ cars. You've obviously done a lot of research. Everything has risks, but nothing is certain. One thing that is is that prices will continue to go up and the longer you wait the worse your financial position becomes or someone snaps the property up from under your nose. Imagine if you had bought 8 years ago or 5 years ago?

I thought NEO was 100% synthetic diester base? you might have trouble getting anything NEO at the moment as the Australian importer has decided to pull the plug but possibly in talks with Rocket industries about taking over. My mechanic use NEO and hasn't had it for a year (gone back to ELF engine oil)

whatever you do don't lose any fasteners. Auto manufacturers have a tendency to get fasteners made to suit their application and because of high volumes the cost is negligible. If you go through any car you'll be surprised how many unique fasteners there are. Things you can't just go down to Bunning or even a fastener supplier to get. Thats my 2 cents worth.

you sure they're still made in Japan? Kincrome stuff I've bought over the last 10 or so years has all been out of China I have KC Tools from about 25 years ago and they were made in Japan.

Only s.s on my car is the exhaust. Best to do a test patch before committing to doing it all. I reckon it would work well on aluminum cam cover etc

a handy tip I got from a mate who is a builder. If you have stainless steel that needs a good clean and polish to remove stains use WD40 and a scotch brite pad . Its best if the pad is not new and coarse or you'll end up with scratches. A well worn pad is the best. I tried it on a basin and a splashback in the kitchen.

has anyone been? 527 cars and 35 motorcycles on the inventory including a 73 240Z and a 76 260Z not sure if 2+2 or 2 seater. The reason I say inventory is because you can go up to the owner and make an offer on any car. Correct me if I'm talking crap, but my boss told me this and he's pretty switched on. will go and see for myself when time permits

Sydney is expensive, congested and badly planned. Roads and rail are 20 years behind where they should be. Developments are approved and built prior to major infrastructure such as roads, rail, schools etc being put in place and then they play catchup but never catchup and reliance on your car is your only option as public transport will take you twice as long. Some good friends of mine packed up and moved to Orange and they vow never to come back to Sydney. (Maybe after their first winter there they might change their mind). Unfortunately for all of us the days of a government with long term vision and doing what is needed for the greater good is gone. I'm keen to hear what people from other parts of the country have to say. I've always liked Melbourne!

I was at Bunnings to get some screws and wall plugs but as usual could not go past the tool section without taking a sticky beak. Had no intention of buying anything when bamm I saw this little set and thought...........I need that. WERA Tool Check Plus. Beautiful little set and very handy. Very high quality and of course not cheap.

good to see he finally got first place. Well deserved. He's been at it a long time and stuck with the 240Z. After getting done by Perana Capri's and V8 TR7's in the past I thought he was going to retire the Z and go for a V8. Good to see I was wrong. p.s that engine looked a bit smokey?

maybe if we pray really hard one of those crafty American companies such as Dynacorn bodies which make complete new Mustang and Camaro bodyshells may see the value in doing the S30............and S130 2 seater.............let us pray
