  1. "We made a thing. The thing is fast!"
  2. Youtube recommended me this, have a look at 3:04 - first L series video is from an Auszcar user! Lot of misinformation, but the guy has a lot of subscribers.
  3. In that condition? Around that time I remember there was a red HLS30 LHD 240z for about 14k, but in the photos it had visible rust (in the middle of the door I think?).
  4. Basically all it does is look for the link to the gallery (which all images have, so we just need to get the first one) and then request that page and parse the images on there. But yeah, you're right about it dynamically pulling in/changing stuff - they are using AngularJS and the pages seem to be partially (but not entirely) rendered on the client side. The gallery source doesn't seem to have html "img" elements when you download it using "requests" (probably because it's not executing the JS) so i needed to change the parsing a little bit too - but the Regex was the same.
  5. Can you run python with your current hosting plan anyway? The problem with the carsales script is that the other photos are stored on a separate gallery page, i've added some quick hacks to your script to make it work for all images. I only have Python 3 installed though, so it might need some changes to work with Python2. carsales2.txt
  6. Good idea! How long do the images on the Gumtree/eBay servers last though? It could be interesting to expand your idea of having a forum tag and further automate it. The site could automatically find and cache ads (or the relevant bits of ads) for any S30s that go up.
  7. Have you thought about running a Kickstarter or similar campaign to gauge interest and fund publishing?
  8. I can't vouch for them or anything of course, but from what I've seen "Fourways Engineering" in the UK have been involved with a lot of the Zs (AU exports or not) that people from the UK have posted about here. I think someone from there may have even made an introduction thread on here at some point. http://fourways-engineering.co.uk/ http://datsun240z.co.uk/
  9. Watched one of my favourite movies again last week, Pirates of Silicon Valley (1999) and spotted this in the Xerox PARC scene:
  10. ZG Flares makes this a Z video, right? (45:50 for "flares off Nissan 240Z")
  11. Probably not of interest since there is no mention of VIN, but this youtube user seems to have (had?) an Aus delivered 1971 240Z in Japan:
  12. Video has music, but a good sounding car nonetheless!
  13. Looks good! The rally clock face would make a nice mechanical watch I reckon, there seems to be a huge modding community around Seiko 5s (can get them new for ~$80 on ebay). Seems like someone already had the car inspired seiko 5 idea though! https://themonsieur.com/2014/09/20/build-any-watch-you-want-with-seiko-5/
  14. Saw this randomly on facebook. One use for a rusty GS30. https://www.facebook.com/simplyshreddedcom/videos/vb.335384166761/10153671818236762/?type=2&theater
  15. I'm out tomorrow as well unfortunately - have an exam next week (+ one the following week), and have little time during the week to study.
  16. I'm out too unfortunately, have a fairly big assignment for uni to do this weekend.
  17. It was good meeting everyone and seeing a lot of nice S30s. Thanks for organising PB!
  18. My dad and I will be there, but not sure if we can commit to the whole drive yet - recently installed triple SKs and are still sorting them out. (jets too big etc.)
  19. He started a thread on here recently too: http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/14656-datsun-260-z-2-seater-for-sale/
  20. Oh, I missed the RX7 when I was looking at the list. But I'm not sure the list is complete actually, they've posted pictures of an F40 and F50 but neither are on there.
  21. Looking forward to going there when it opens! I find the lack of 90s Japanese cars a bit odd though - none of the GTRs, RX7s or Supras. Could probably get a nice one of each if you cut out a couple of the late model exotics.
  22. The article even calls it a 74 model somewhere.
  23. I think a big jump happened over 2014, but maybe it's a coincidence as I went from following this thread + gumtree to actually considering buying one around that time.
  24. Will be interesting to see what happens next, bit odd if the other dealers can talk themselves out of it after a 2 year investigation + raid.
