Gidday and Welcome If I recall correctly the "G" at the start indicates 2+2. The bodies are noticeably different between 2 seater and 2+2. They are longer and really noticeable just behind the doors the 2+2 has some distance between the door and rear wheel arch. Can you post up a photo of the side view? Cheers PB

Yes for strength, putting a swage or fold in a material increases its strength, having them in an X shape provides strength in both directions
