  1. Correct, before Bond had his Aston run with cars, each movie featured a different make and manufacturerer. The directors chose the 2000gt for obvious reasons - beautiful, rare, sexy. But becasue Shaun Connery is a big lad, he couldnt fit in the car to film the scenes. Instead Toyota took the cars back and two weeks later, handed over some nicely modified convertibles. None actually were sold from factory. The 2000GT is one of a very select group of cars I love more than the s30 z... But in saying that, you can see similar styling cues between the two
  2. As above. Id say you need the r200 traverse link and moustace bar. SW Motorsport has high quality diff mounts which can eliminate the need for that old strap....
  3. Thanks fellas, I did all above mentioned suggestions and its good to go now.... Cheers
  4. Yeah Ive googled and had a look at "aussiemagnas forum" - lol. waiting for them to allow me to be a user so I can harrass them directly.
  5. Sorry to bring up this rubbish topic but as this is the best and most informative forum on the web, I thought id get a good answer here. Car 01 Magna Manual. Went to change the interior light, failed to operate. When I went to start car after attempt, it took 5 secs to finally fire. Also the trip computer was flashing like it had been reset. Central locking also dead. Worked out they both live on same fuse, but the fuse looks ok. Been driving with these issues until I have time to fix. Then this morning it just wound over and over and over and no firing..... any tips??? Just replace fuse anyway? Sorry for terrible thread. Any help would be appreciated.

    Engineering

UPDATE -Rego completed and after failing due to rear tint too dark, flew through the next inspection. Although the car uses quality parts and has been built well I was still nervous. Little things like no interior indicators/highbeam light (aftermaket guages cancels them), no steering lock (detachable sparco wheel), no bracing of pod filter from turbo to body - just aluminium pipe. But nope, they were happy as was I. My hint for catching them on a good day and in a good mood - do what I did and put it over the pits the day before xmas!!!! There were no customers and they were all so relaxed. Also again, thanks to John Wilson - ive warmed to him
  7. Yeah overkill without any actual usefulness in this sense
  8. why no wood? is it soft or something?
  9. These things are rare, most people wanting one have decided their amaount willing to spend and dont hesitate when something fits their bill
  10. Haha. the dude in the pic looks a little like Jay Leno, minus the awesome chin....
  11. Found a cool site while looking for cosmetic stuff for the 240z... Nice gear, especially CF stacks, rear view and mirros but priey...... anyone seen this stuff before???. http://translate.google.com.au/translate?sl=auto&tl=en&js=n&prev=_t&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&eotf=1&u=http%3A%2F%2F09racingshop.cart.fc2.com%2F&act=url
  12. Pics dont do it justice but thats a solid buy and good value....
  13. What Dat2kman said. The skylines good for motor/box/brakes/booster+m/c/accelerator cable and pedal pickup/ECU. Otherthan that its its a heavy paperweight
  14. Mate there are too many positives to just have a simple debate about EFI v Carbs.. It all comes down to what YOU want and what THEME you want your car to have. We all agree a well tuned L series with tripples has basically the best sound you can get out of a car. However EFI is reliable, modern and has a massive range of potential in which to start tuning from - the skys the limit. The best thing to do is ask a few question; what do i want out of the car? what will the car be used for (track/daily/once a month)? Budget? Expectations of car -run 12's, good all rounder etc? Once you have a theme and idea of what you want, the rest should fall into place. But on a personal note, throw in a RB and you wont wipe the smile off your face. I did and its almost twice as powerful (stock form). and gets almost twice as fuel economy (almost 550km per tank). Plus its start and go, no tunning carbs, rubbish idle etc....
  15. Dont take on too much now mate. My car has passed rego and engineering so Ill be dropping it off within the next few weeks for you to begin your magic!
  16. Did you put the diff strap back on? or a decent solid top diff mount for the increased power?
  17. Yeah hydraulic while cool, is definatley a no go in Oz. Wozs Kit cost me: $50 new rear brake bracket for wilwood caliper and spot park brake (from him - left over batch) $200ish to machine/anodize bracket (machined 10mm deep in areas to suit) $300 Handbrake cable from automotive specialist in melb (he has all drawing for it) $200 spot calipers to suit 0.81 rear rotor thickness (L+R) Easy to fit, minimun labour. The power of the parkbrake isnt fantastic but my setup has just gone through engineering no props... As for the wilwoods, they are insane
  18. Woz developed a good, legal solution for the handbrake problemt. PM him to find out the details and drawings
  19. Copy that!!!
  20. Have you tried hammering them in? Sometimes a little force can help.......... A little.........

  22. Hes a good bloke, fair and helpful.... JUst a little relaxed in responses.. If you want/need to get on to him without waiting for a email reply, call him between 9am-12pm EDT. He will answer straight away as he lives at his shop and doors are closed then... He prefers calls at that time................. If anyones keen can someone ask him how his handbrake/parkbrakes going? Finished??
  23. Haha, yeah no presents until after the 21st dec just in case!! Im going to be in the z going for a drive in case the s%t hits the fan.....
  24. Hey mate, Ive done the conversion your into. With the r200 its sllightly larger on one side than the stock r180 (drivers from memory). Some people can force the shaft into the r200 but it tends to weaken it (more prone to snapping under launch). Also if one side (shafts) isnt shortened a little ( i think almost 20mm ) to give it some movement. The car wont go in a straight line under accelleration, it will pull slightly to one side. I got my shaft shoftened for about $200 and its good and strong. Ive also got CVs for the future incase of more for more power for the RB25det. Check the ACT threat... I think the guy who did my shaft posted about it......
