  1. Bring you to my first line on the second post. Quote; This sought of discussion may not always come out well, as it starts "mine is better than yours" and notice the poster has made 2 posts and not seen again.
  2. Quote:By the way there was one book produced about 20 years ago called "Super Profiles", an English book that covered 240 and 260z and had performance figures for each year which was quite detailed at the time.Does anyone remember this book. I have this book Super Profile by James Morris.
  3. It is a 2+2 here are photo's and write up from intro. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,9770.msg96236.html#msg96236
  4. There are different ways how these scams work, but mainly stolen credit card number's, Payment is made to you though paypal and an agent will come and take the car, and when the person with the credit card gets there statement and notice money has gone, they make a clam with their bank and paypal remove the money paid to you, you have now lost the money and the car. Or they over pay you and get you to send the refund back to them western union, when you have found you have been scammed you can't get that money back. Another good one is they empty lots of credit card money into your account and you keep 30 % and a guy comes and picks up the rest of the money after you have drawn out of your bank, when everybody notices their money gone, they follow the paper trail to your bank and then police and fred turn up at your door for stealing all this money, you go to jail.
  5. There are a couple more cheap ones on e-bay at the moment, + a left hand drive good going one for 4k starting price.
  6. Just for the record, although the 260z 2+2 back seat was designed for midgets with no legs you can fit in uncomfortably 5 adults and luggage 100ks to airport, not happy when they got out, and I pointed to the stretch limo and said if you all had of put $20.00 each in you could have come up in that.Things you do for family.
  7. This sought of discussion may not always come out well, as it starts "mine is better than yours" I will only discuss standard cars. But the main difference between the models is weight and stoke of the motor. The 240 is the lightest of them all and has a shorter stoke motor and has no emission control resulting in a really fun car to drive as the motor likes to rev and responds quickly, it has a lot of history and will be the more collectible car. The 260z became heavier and after 74 emission controls came in, they changed the stoke to a longer stoke and made the car more suitable to a family sports car instead of a racer like the 240. they added a 2+2 with seats in the back for people with no legs and heavy on the steering, the 2 seater is the more collectible of the 260 The 280 kept the same stoke as 260 with bigger bore and lot heavier car they made a fairlane with a sports body, power everthing as as standard car you can not compare performance as they had none. It took them 20 years to get back to the same performance as the first 240z. A lot more on this web site. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nissan_S30 As for practical I beleive my 2002 Renalt Senic, fits that, the back seats remove in 30 sec and you have a mini van and I can sleep in the back with a mattress or carry large items or back to a 5 seater in 1 min.
  8. Funny enough when I found this site all I wanted to do was sell a 240z and a 260 2+2 and clean my shed out, if some one had of offered me $500.00 they could of had both cars, 2+2 has the matching number motor for the 240z, when I first came on, I thought 1k would be the price to ask, and then I read that I need to do an introduction, so I looked to see how that was done and now noticed the car was worth a lot more so I asked for 3k, a deposit and sale was made with in 20 min's of me posting my number, that sale fell though and it gave me time to realize I was selling far to cheap, and now the 20 years of me having this car they are finally starting to be worth something, so I have decided to keep it for now, but if I didn't have to do a formal introduction and had time to look somebody would have picked up the 2 cars for 1k or less.
  9. There is a good series 1 hatch included with this 71 z on ebay which is the wrong hatch for this car, maybe worth contacting him for a swap, # is there. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/1971-Datsun-240z-1001-/110800080495?pt=AU_Cars&hash=item19cc330e6f
  10. I bought one of these plastic welders and it will not be good enough to weld this as it uses hot air and blows it around and then you roll the 2 hot molten surfaces together looks very rough until you grind it clean, places that do plastic welding do it another way and can do a better finish, hoops that we have had done just leave a black plastic line between them, but the colour of the weld depends on what colour filler rod you use. I paid $60 for mine. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Plastic-Welder-Gun-Hot-Air-Gas-PVC-Vinyl-Weld-Rod-/260919752124?pt=AU_Welding&hash=item3cc00775bc
  11. If you cant find somebody to take it away, I have cut a few cars up into manageable size pieces with a wood axe and a small cut off grinder for the thicker parts that the axe wont cut though.
  12. I witness a strange unexplained ufo in 1978, it landed and planes and choppers flew over it,we were told it was nothing and they gave all these possible causes, none of them made sense and all went quite about it, here is the story. http://www.ufocusnz.org.nz/content/The-world-famous-%E2%80%98Kaikoura-Lights%E2%80%99-sightings/58.aspx Lot more about it here in detail. http://brumac.8k.com/NEW_ZEALAND/NZSB.html

Hi Bullzed, you can buy off other e-bay sites around the world, for example, I wanted a clutch for my 306 Cab, ebay aus is $560.00 + $35 postage, trade price was $580.00 yet ebay USA who would send world wide was 70 pound + 80 pound delivery from England, yet I could not get an England based ebayer on ebay UK to send to Aus, Total delivery to my door cost me $220.00 Aus. so try looking around other sites around the world.
  16. Found the book, it shows an earlier car for #33 that Paul Newman was driving, and the angled L28 motor Dimti is talking about is #83 and driven by Don Devendorf producing 650hp out of a L28 turbo and inter cooled motor leaning over on an angle to allow more room for the turbo and injection. Says he was the 1982 IMSA GTO Champ with his 280zx Turbo
  17. Was thinking the same, I have that book if needed the info
  18. It was a great day and great drive, and great people, It was my first time meeting anybody from the forum and found them very friendly, was great food and good company but I had to dash off as there was a big storm coming in and I was in the lady's 306 cabriolet with the roof down, Electrical not working on it, just got out in time with a few heavy drops on the window, got back to the Gold Coast missing all the storms coming up and as soon as I got the car away it bucketed down. Thanks to all the members who put it together. Dave

  20. Peter Allan asked if I could line the cars up with the front wheels as they were only lined up with the front bumpers, someone else may be interested as well.
  21. Close up is now on first post. If anybody wants them for the 11th weekend orders we need to be by Monday, unless we have the shirts in stock. Printing Thursday.
  22. John if you check the photo of the 2 chrome strips together you can see the difference in the angle of the roof line and the window posts. also check the photo of my T-top 240z it has the 2+2 chrome strip clipped on to show the different angles, looking again the roof line is higher.
