  1. Hey guys, so I've been looking around for a new diff mount as I get a massive bang every time I bring the clutch out too quickly. I can't find any listings anywhere, ebay USA has a diff mount insulator and supercheap has no listing for it whatsoever. What do?
  2. Hi Ash, I was wondering whether you would be able to supply 280ZX diff mounts. It's for an 82 2+2 ZX. I've been looking round and haven't been able to find anything except one centre insulator mount from the US for $88 to my door. Could you PM me details on it? Cheers Zac
  3. Mine is 200km/h too, any series 2 2+2 should have them!
  4. I can relate Just go over on a 45 degree angle!
  5. I'd love to get a hold of one of these and adapt it to my ZX, I've got enough S30 parts on it, why stop now?
  6. Oh wow I never knew... freaking australia huh? Well they're already 2 piece as they've been machined and bolted into bigger barrels. It'll have to be a custom barrel as I want such a negative offset!
  7. It's been a long time since I've updated but the stuttering problem disappeared after 2 days, probably crap fuel or crap stuck in the jets. Anyways got some new rims, Neale Raker 15x7 -19 and 15x8 -32. I've looked around for other sets but could only find some 14x6's sold 4 years ago in Melbourne. I've been offered $1500 without tyres, considering I swapped them for my set of XXR 513's it makes me happy. Seeing as they're 2 piece alloy centres and steel barrels I'm contemplating getting the 7's banded 2 inches outwards to 15x9 -70ish and flogging my spacers. Anyone know a place to get steel wheels banded?
  8. Dude... props So good to see other 280ZX's getting out there and showing the S30 owners that they're not the overweight sibling! The XR4's look awesome! Also manly touch with those triples, that makes 3 of us now!
  9. Hey everyone, This isn't Datsun related hence why it's in off topic but I need the head gasket in my Toyota Crown changed as it blew bad time. I'm looking for someone who could change the head gasket and timing belt on a 7MGE engine (known for their crap head gaskets due to wrong head torque). If I supplied the gaskets, new head bolts and the belt would anyone be able to change it? (for a fee of course) It's still mobile due to the fact it lost compression equally on two cylinders on opposite sides of the firing order, would anyone be able to help me? My dad is out of town for 3 weeks and I'm working two jobs, any direction would be really appreciated! I've been quoted $800 labour at a mechanics which would negate one of my jobs. Cheers Zac
  10. FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-
  11. I think that's awesome. 3 pieces of a g-nose on a ZX, I'm getting some ideas now!
  12. Hey Peter! It's an E88 head on a P30 block!
  13. Happy Birthday to both Pete and Gav! Just another year to obsess over Z's!
  14. Having owned both of the cars in question (however both in manual) I can say I personally enjoyed the 280ZX more. The presence of air con, higher sound deadening, EFI fuel consumption, power steering, optional electrics and velour interior make it a much more practical and bearable daily. Whilst I did enjoy the 'first gen' styling of the 260z it was still a 2+2 which cops just as much flak as the ZX. I also love turning a car into an exception, where people will say 'I don't normally like *insert car*, but I like yours', so maybe I'm biased I've always wanted to pit my ZX against an S30 of any sort, I can throw it pretty quickly around a corner and I've never ever had any understeer or had the back end become uncontrollable, call me a landbarge, I dare you! As a daily, I personally wouldn't have a Z car at all as they're 2 door, relatively low and comparatively sad on fuel. The point I'm trying to make is that everyone is different, you just have to weigh all the facts up and choose one that is best for you, no Z car is better than another. One man's trash is another man's treasure!
  15. Did this on mine, it's an S130 but gives you an idea I 'spose
  16. I agree with Matt, I'm lucky enough to have a non-rusted but horribly weathered Z, adds character. Better than a planned paint job!
  17. Just gotta make some damn room. Was running but blew headgasket which prompted an L28 upgrade. Can check head and block type tomorrow for anyone who wants to know, no intake or exhaust etc. $50 Pick up from Chapel Hill
  18. Funnily enough my dad and I had one g-nose hinge and were able to fab up a standard hinge to match for the other side. Not too hard
  19. 2nd hand reds sound good! What are you chasing?
  20. Hey guys, looking for two sets of two foam air filters for dhla40 ram tubes, preferably each set a different colour (going for a different mismatched look). New or used I don't mind! Cheers Zac
  21. Well fair enough I guess, being part of a club means you're also to be part of the community, it makes it more enjoyable to be around like minded people who aren't just there for the cheap rego! I'm just new to being part of the club but I guess someone from the ZCCQ could be the best to talk to about the matter?
  22. Okay I guess I didn't explain myself properly. Being a Z owner, I'd love to be part of any meetings or events concerning Z's. I've been to all of the auszcar queensland meets that I could and if becoming part of a car club means I could do more of these then hell yes. Hope that clears everything up.
  23. Hey guys, So the rego on my red Z is about to run out and I wanted to put it onto club rego because I won't be taking it out much and I can't afford to pay full rego on it. How would I go about obtaining club rego?
  24. Happy Birthday Lurch! Hope the Z gods are good to you this year
