  1. Hey guys, unfortunately I won't be able to attend any more as I have some family matters to attend to on the day. I hope you all have a great cruise though!
  2. Few things have changed since last post. Came across a legitimate EVA racing wing on YAJ and have since fitted it. Picked up a pair of side skirts however the rear wheels sit too far into the guard to run them. Once I space the rear wheels out 20mm, I'll probably end up running the skirts, don't know how they'll look. Also have an underspoiler arriving Monday. Also bought these as well. Yay life.
  3. Count me in for the cruise and snags.
  4. Haven't been defected at a meet yet, but have been defected before. I stopped going to them when they started setting D-stations up down the road from them. Also a lot of the guys who turn up to the events are morons anyways.
  5. Sold pending payment.
  6. I've completely given up on hardpark meets, they're just a lot of people gathering in one place to make it easier for cops to ream them.
  7. Really need to clear out the shed, price drop to $170.
  8. Q: What is the definition of Hooning? What is a Type 1 Offence? A: Type 1 offences are defined as offences committed in circumstances involving a speed trial, race or burn out involving: • Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle; • Careless driving of a motor vehicle; • Racing and speed trials on roads; • Wilfully starting a motor vehicle or driving a motor vehicle in a way that makes unnecessary noise or smoke; or • Evading police. So in the case a cop want to impound your vehicle for rev matching down changes or pumping the accelerator too hard to start up, it'll carry the same consequences as trying to evade police, except for the fact that you won't have a chance of actually getting away. If it comes down to it, I'd rather run.
  9. Leaky injectors causing engine fires, wiring running along the top of the head also causing fires, star wars dash is good, not buggy. VG30's are horrible to work on, no room around them WHATSOEVER (well at least compared to an L series). $3k will get you a decent one but everyone wants too much for them nowadays. I was chasing one as well but people want too much.
  10. I concur I'm open minded to whatever opinions/information/facts/beliefs people wanna put forward. I'm only 19, I know it's hard to believe but I don't know everything!
  11. All well and good but my whole point here is that there is no difference between using the term 280ZX or Fairlady280Z as they are different names, in different countries for the same thing. They both describe an S130 chassis, with an L28, regardless of S1 or S2 bumpers and panels, regardless of fabric, suede or leather interiors, regardless of LHD or RHD, they are both the same blanket name for an S130 with an L28 powerhouse. If someone chooses to badge it a Fairlady280Z, it may not be regionally correct, but it is correct in that it still falls under that name in another country. I respect your desire to be specific about the models and variations, however this is a blanket term, as you say, relating to the chassis and engine combo itself.
  12. If model names and numbering are so inaccurate, why get so worked up over a single inaccuracy? Had my car been made for JDM, it would be badged as such, a Fairlady280Z, yet still maintain the same engine, same chassis and same visuals. They are the exact same concept. In regards to my 'wrong-headed' approach, how would you describe a 260Z? I would say it is an S30 chassis, equipped with L26 and chrome surrounded separated rear tail lights. Now using the term 260Z as a reference point, a 280Z is a 260Z with an L28, or if we take a step back, an S30 chassis with an L28 and chrome surrounded separated rear tail lights. Sure there are multiple variations of S30s and S130s, but if we all must be so incredibly accurate when referencing our cars, there's no point to it at all. What's the difference between a '79 S130 and an '82 S130? A LOT. Yet they are both S130's, both Fairlady280Z's in Japan and both 280ZX's in Australia. Personally, I have a wedge shaped hunk of metal on 4 round things with 4 round light up things on the back. Somewhere on it, it says Datsun.
  13. IT'S AN ILLEGITIMATE LOVE CHILD, IT MUST BE CLEANSED.
  14. I also heard they came with C110 rear tail lights as standard and 240Z rear wing optional.
  15. Well my mate in Texas says otherwise as his car was badged standard as Fairlady280Z, along with his white parts car. I understand that whilst mine is an Australian delivered S130, it would not be titled as such. However placing the badges on the car is; in a way; not incorrect. The cars are structurally, mechanically and visually the same as the Japanese counterparts. What's in a name? It's funny how the little things can cause the largest conflict.
  16. Seeing as I got the front guards from Jason, he advised me it came from a LHD S130, which would suggest a US import, yes? These guards had Fairlady 280Z badges on the front quarter guards, which I purchased. These were not S30 guards, they were S130. So would that not imply it is known as a Fairlady280Z in not only the JDM but also the USDM? Not only that but I have a friend in Texas with an S130 with stock badging. Clearly a Fairlady280Z Also I feel 'wrong-headed' is highly misused, why 'wrong'? It is in fact a 260Z chassis with an L28 from factory. I don't see how that logic is incorrect.
  17. Thanks Jason, you never know. Might happen yet!
  18. They don't look it but are they tuned length? Are you going a different engine or were they not to the performance you were hoping?
  19. Well mine is an 82 and it had a datsun badge standard, 'Datsun280ZX' with subscript reading (made by Nissan). The Fairlady280Z badge is from a US car, and I'm sure (you can quote me), they were known as both 280Z and 280ZX, despite the name 280Z also pertaining to a 260Z body with an L28. Whilst the badges do not belong to the specific car, they are globally correct chassis wise. Mind you I thought the lights would cause more of a fuss than the badges
  20. Hahaha I knew it would merit this kind of response. Considering the 280ZX was known and badged as Fairlady 280Z in the US (the badged came off an S130 USDM guard), and considering it is still badged as a Datsun despite also being a Nissan, I see nothing wrong with the badging.
  21. CUE FLAMING C110 rear tail lights, cut, shortened and shut. I love it so much.
  22. Also if you're planning on running the flares you'll need 10J -60, 11J -48 or 12J -35 in the rear to fill them out properly, and in the front you'll need 8J -40, 9J -27 or 10J -16. When you start getting to these sizes it's mega expensive. Just stating this because I have 8J -12 and 10J -27 under standard guards, it would look silly under flares.
  23. Hey Jon, I was just wondering, is this a clutch pack LSD? And correct me if I'm wrong but this would drop straight into a 280ZX with those CV shafts yeah? Cheers Zac
  24. Any ZG flares will fit, the diameter of the guards is the same as the S30's. Try eBay, TopStage sells his on there, and there's a guy newly started in Brisbane doing fibreglassing who sells them too.
  25. Hey guys, I'm on a mission to find a 2 seater S130. If anyone has any leads to any already in Australia that could possibly be up for grabs that would be fantastic. Just putting feelers out before considering JDM import. Cheers Zac
