  1. Nice colour! The darker blue is definitely the way to go. Where are you going to mount the front number plate?
  2. It's the quick and the dead around here.
  3. So am I. I called the PMC customer helpline and realised that I need to give it 2 "full" pumps prior to cranking not "baby" pumps. Starts easy now. Yeah, we can never be cool to a 7 year old, hehe.
  4. The new 2.5 inch exhaust system has been fitted ( ) and I have taken some video of engine running...... http://youtu.be/Pj4eWW4j3DY
  5. Looks to be coming along nicely. Keep up the good work boys !
  6. Yes and I have taped it. Lot's of 240Z goodness......
  7. My advice is to go with who you think is best and has the ability to tune it for you too. I chose Peter MC because he can do it all (with Les Collins) ,provides great service to the forum and has a real passion for his work. He builds exhaust systems for the z too! Who cares if he is in another state. Engine transportation is relatively cheap.
  8. Whilst playing around mounting my new exhaust yesterday, I came across what may have been what he was talking about. The plug that covers this hole had come off and I was struggling with fumes big time. "logr" suggests sealing the holes from both sides as it is in the frame rail. When I start driving, I will update any progress, but worth checking for a good seal here because it it right on top of the muffler.
  9. Pushing new limits, that's for sure....... Looking forward to this one. Who is this for?
  10. Just use loctite theadlocker. It doesn't dissolve with fuel. That's what I used on mine.
  11. Hi All, I am in need of the following exhaust bracket. The one in the middle of this photo that has the metal bracket attached to the rubber. Willing to pay for item and postage to SA. Cheers
  12. Will try to mount these pipes on the weekend and take a video. I also replaced the door seals and scuff plates after treating the rust beneath with POR-15. As I mentioned, these new plates are a bit shorter but I am happy with the look. Up to 24hrs ago I didn't realize that the door seals do not require adhesive to fit them. Was a real cinch.
  13. A nice surprise arrived today. Custom PMC 2.5 inch SS magnaflow exhaust system. Beautiful bends and welds......
  14. cutaway L28 engine that runs !
  15. These are 710mm long. My original ones are 745mm long. As far as the rubber seal goes, these scuff plates should not cover it. If you are referring to the door seals then they are next to the scuff plates. Yeah, if you want to pop around, PM me. Cheers
  16. Yippee.....Awesome work Peter. Looking forward to having some Z work to do. They will look great, I am sure of it. You are welcome to have a closer look at them or borrow them. They are a tad smaller than the original scuff plates and adhere with double sided tape, not screws.
  17. Welcome to the forum Vlad.
  18. If so, then you can borrow my SU carb setup that is bolted up to my original L26 that is not being used. No need to worry about where all the hoses go. It's pretty straight forward, unlike dealing with Regency......
  19. Standard carbs for your car are the flattops. I would be able to help you with roundtops. As Nizmo said, ring again in a while and get a different answer and then make sure you get his name too.
  20. I hope there were no zeds on jack stands.
  21. Hey Gareth, it will be a straight through system with a resonator mid way and a single straight through muffler at the rear. I don't know the brands of the muffler and resonator, but I trust Peter. He might add more info in this.
  22. Am still awaiting the new carbon bonnet from Japan via BenZed. This should arrive shortly as will a 2.5 inch exhaust system built by the Peter / Les combo team. Without these I can't take the z for a spin. Having some time spare, I bought the MSA complete rubber kit and have started replacing the door rubbers which were perished. Removal of the sill panels revealed a nasty little surprise though. Fortunately there aren't any holes and i will treat the deep surface rust before replacing with new sill panels. I bought these from a UK ebay store. They are stainless steel and very solid. I don't think they look too bad since they are nice and simple.
  23. Awesome. I will be there. Never had the chance to drive a 600hp z.
  24. Happy 40th Peter !! Enjoy your day
