  1. Quite the craftsman, The FCR wistle almost sounds like a turbo!
  2. The bright red is so much better, will try a few other vendors
  3. Gav, engine number is, L24 189593. I’ve contacted one vendor who says the original red was more a burgundy. Would that mean these cars pictured are running a custom colour as the vendors sample is very different (shown last).
  4. The blue is a bit to Ziggy Stardust for me, but still nice cause most cars seem to be black on black. Scratch test not required, all 1/4 window plastic, rear 1/4 plastic, tail light plastic are red. Too hard to see the vinyl on struts and trans tunnel. Theres a few splits in it but seems black to me. L24 engine is in storage, will have to get the number at a later date.
  5. 103771, 11/73 compliance, was originally white not sure of code and an auto. I’ll try the scratch test later tonight.
  6. I’ll try the scratch test PB, thanks. My compliance was late 73, not sure of the build date. Also white originally too. I don’t mind the red either.
  7. My plastic interior trim panels in the rear of the car are black on the front side but red on the back side. Does this mean the interior was red and the panels have been painted?
  8. Good job Greg, what did they sting you for shipping?
  9. Looks good under brakes Gordo, did you get the pad knock back sorted?
  10. Anyone got one of these they don’t need before I try Le EBay? Bolts in the back of the rear right wheel arch.
  11. Perfect, do they take S30 trade ins?
  12. The 70's Mitsubishi galants look pretty cool! Are they price now?
  13. Keep an eye on the front cross member hole with the solid mount, mine had mushroomed quite a bit with a few small fatigue cracks. I only had a stock rear bar with used rubbers allowing it to torque left to right on the central retaining bolt. The Stuart Wilkins Motorsport captive mount is awesome and 100% fail safe. Steer clear of the ron tyler mount, The Siddons team 240z snapped one in a corner! Pic attached from there facebook feed.
  14. I'd be interested to see a comparison between the 40's & 45's with the same choke sizes. I'm wondering if the larger taper in the bigger carbs (as in 45-32) would produce more velocity and more torque? All other things being equal between both sets other than jetting changes if required.
  15. This was the style I previously ran Greg. Not sure on dimensions or scales though. To me your diff position looks correct.
  16. Looks like he bought a M12x1.75 tap and a grub screw to suit. Don’t think it was tapered, Doh!
  17. New Datsun parts, edible packing, winning!
  18. The front rails look ok Front end panels should be easily replaced, rear half not so much, what's hiding beneath. Yeah tyres are very mad max, wondering what grip levels would be on a set that old. Ha
  19. I thought it was a previous off with damage to the rear. So it was cut n shut with a 260z rear from towers back. Might be more 260z than 240z after this Found it here, post 19. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/16070-targa-tasmania-2017/
  20. Used the permanent one, it’s the only one I use. Hehe. Is the purple one gasket maker or something? Good question re thread pitch, I didn’t purchase them. Will check.
  21. Fitted a NOS 90’s V912 head to my brothers freshly restored 1600. The main oil gallery at the front and rear of the head was not plugged. We tapped and installed grub screws. Now a low speed test drive in paddock has resulted in oil leaking from the rear grub screw again. Any suggestions on a fix gurus? Thanks
  22. Was an early car, the back half is 260z chop isn’t it? Lovely car and they’ve got some awesome video footage, great seeing someone build it, drive it hard and it sounds so good. Would love to know the spring, bar and shock specs. It glides along very nicely
