  1. Doesn't look like much does it Dave? It's good mechanical insurance and the last thing you want is cheapo coolers that spring a leak. Are you running a thermostat for the oil cooler and where are you going to locate it. Also how did you figure you'd need one? Edit: All these coolers mean track days are in order!
  2. That's just the list price on the website, there'll be Jesse's fee and shipping to add. He's getting back to me with a price including all that.
  3. Got reply back from Jesse, initially it looks as though we can get them for 25k yen ($270AUD). He's waiting for a full response to see if there's any further discount available, both individually and as a group of three. I'm only interested in this piece, to me it seems to be the best quality. http://translate.googleusercontent.com/translate_c?depth=1&hl=en&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dmarugen%2Bshokai%2Bs30z%26biw%3D1600%26bih%3D775&rurl=translate.google.com.au&sl=ja&u=http://home.att.ne.jp/sky/FairladyZ/Body/3Pspoiler/3pspoiler1.htm&usg=ALkJrhhO9h8VKCd332aO9oJO9TzKgXlIoA
  4. RHD Japan list the marugen spoiler at $385, so it should be about the same price as the Arita speed type. The quality of their parts are supposed to be second to none, so that's the one I'd go for. I'll get onto Jesse and get pricing direct from Marugen.
  5. Might be worth asking about the spoiler above on hybridz. It looks to be the one from ZCCJDM, the fit/finish looks a little rough in those pics, also it doesn't look as 'sharp' as the Marugen Shokai piece. Here a link for ones made by Arita Speed, quality/sharpness/fit looks really good. I have their Gnose on my car and I was very happy with the product! http://page17.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/v307104366 Jesse streeter would be the man to use for this, he is always cheaper than RHDjapan too.
  6. This doesn't make sense to me, I really can't see the point of trying to get to a speed that you'll only ever see a few times. Where is this happening? From your first post it sounds like its on public roads. For your sake and those other road users I hope your doing it in a controlled environment closed to the public or on a race track.
  7. Who makes the black one, Is there any feedback on fitment and quality?
  8. Um hard to say, at a guess 75mm
  9. There's a hole on the inside edge of the metal filler neck, kinda at the bottom. I just used a small key ring to attach mine, I removed the screws, pulled it out and then attached the keyring as I didn't want anything to drop in the tank.
  10. There's this option also, it'll be an excellent piece from all reports I've heard from them. Jesse Streeter will beat this price, I could be interested too. http://www.rhdjapan.com/marugen-shoukai-3-piece-rear-spoiler-s30-s31-fairlady-z-53639
  11. Checked the alignment between the gearbox and diff, I only used a spirit level on the end of them both, but according to this the diff nose was pointing downwards compared to the box. I removed the red energy suspension GM bush, I fitted the black urethane stepped 'snubber' that also came with the RT mount and my old billet aluminium diff mount. I trimmed the black urethane snubber so there was only three steps left and this was slightly compressed with the billet mount all tightened up. I'll swap the billet mount out for a genuine rubber style shortly, but not from Nissan Australia as they are $165 Test drive, problem solved I had trimmed the Red urethane mount so it matched the shape of the diff nose when first installed, obviously it's not enough for my setup with all new mounts, previously it seemed fine but the gearbox mount has been stuffed since it was fitted. Thanks for the help guys!
  12. I'm with Gordo, to me it seems silly to schedule a sprint meet for car enthusiasts when Bathurst is on. Besides it's only Sandown, two quarter mile straights with a left/right/left at the end.
  13. Thanks for the suggestions guys. I'll fit my old solid diff mount in to see if it fixes the issue, if it does I'll go the the factory rubber mount and use the RT mount with a bush to stop the diff going upwards.
  14. Excellent news. Pics and a vid of it running if you can. We want to hear that exhaust!
  15. Hey guys, After rebuilding my gearbox recently I now have a vibration at 100kph and above, below that things are fine. I have the RT diff mount with the GM poly mount, the vibration was non existant before the gearbox swap although the gearbox rubber was completely stuffed. I have changed the gearbox, fitted a new gearbox rubber mount, and a kameari crossmember. I did a cut n shut on my original gearbox crossmember to make it work with the new box, The vibration was worse with this DIY mount, the Kameari mount has improved things about 50%. I have checked all uni's, they seem fine and there was no issue until the box was changed. I know the RT mount drops the nose of the diff as it's designed for V8 conversions, I did shave it a little to fit over the nose of the diff better but maybe not enough. I'm thinking maybe it hasn't been a problem before due to the state of the old/stuffed gearbox rubber?
  16. Looks like you'll be delivering a slab of cider to Dale
  17. What is the difference between the early and later heads Allan? What did you have in mind for it Jarrod? I have one in my 77 2+2 JDM import, but It's not for sale. Might try to build a destroked 2.5 one day, using my original L24 block.
  18. Nice! Were you able to fit the rails with the drive line and running gear in place?
  19. Forgive me if it's already been posted but what are the specs on the new engine?
  20. I think the factory would be very happy with that sort of workmanship David. Do you plan to do it to the rear cross brace also?
  21. Nice one Ben, had me stumped for sure. Look forward to the "build your own pressure bleeder" thread, it'll be very handy for many people here including me.
  22. If my current poly ones fit and if these are the same size. You can have em Jake
  23. For those of you looking at doing this gearbox mod here's some pics of the Kameari mount, Much nicer than I could manage. Once again this is only suitable for post September 72 Z's using the 71C gearbox. It has some urethane bushings in it, but they may as well be solid steel I'm thinking of putting my urethane bushes in but these Kameari ones look smaller. Anyone know the stock bushing O.D.? These are 31mm od and have 4066 stamped into the face.
  24. Sounds like a blast Simon. How were you lucky enough to score this?
