Hi Crew, Still tinkering away this end, will update soon, but in the meanwhile the head never stops thinking and as I do I have come up with another hair brained idea some of you will probably salivate over and others want to poke sticks at. Found a taillamp alternative that fits almost to the millimeter within the tail lamp cavity area of an S30, and I cant believe no one has thought of this one yet ! It will need some minor modifications and a new tail lamp garnish fabricated so as to form a base and finish off the center number plate garnish, that said, if I decide to do this and it works, in which case I can have the base garnish replicated, would anyone else be interested? There are 2 clear area's, one is the reverse lamp and the other can provide the amber indicator, cost of these puppies landed here in OZ is around US$250.00 for the pair, no wiring or globes. If anyone is a ham at photoshopping, please download this pick and graft it onto an S20 Cheers John

OK, so how much of this car will actually be original after you finish? LMAO But on a serious note, structurally this car had the rigidity of Swiss cheese by the looks of it, did the owner realise just how far gone it was and that it was being held together at the pan by a coffee can, tire outlet placard and street sign? Should last 3 of its lifetimes now Scoota, well done.

I think this has turned out to be a brilliant idea, We should start a thread which links to Sat images of locations for abused Zeds, i.e. If someone passes one and see's it in distress parked off suffering a cancerous death they should post the link after looking it up so potential Zedophiles might have a crack at getting to it. Sure a lot easier than trying to get an address etc.

Nice going Scoota, The repro panels are one thing but actually getting stuck into it and achieving a result is totally another, hat off to you. Read somewhere in a mag I have laying around that a company recently spent $250K getting all the XY panels reproduced, you can now build a shell from scratch, pity someone couldn't do the same with the S20, wonder if Nissan still has the dies sitting around ? :-\

Saw one of these at Highpoint Shopping centre back in 1982 from memory, it was in a raffle and was parked on display, always thought it was pretty cool, even more so when I saw back to the future the first time. And $55,000 is a great buyers price, maybe a shot on Ebay would be the go, never know the WWW and all it's users is bound to turn up some interested buyers. But alas, with the price of fuel and electricity these days and the need to generate "The Sucker's" electrical requirements to kick over the Flux capacitor which from memory needs 1.21 gigawatts, I'm thinking that any buyer would need to invest in a Mr Fusion home energy reactor.

Dallas, Welcome, congratulations, nice ride, pretty wife that's in on the car which is always a good thing, just make sure the smile doesn't change to a snarl as time passes and she doesn't front you up about spending more time with the Mistress Z rather than her, I'd hate to see what she could do with those brushes to you considering the clean up she did of the hatch floor ! LOL If you are game and pedantic which your pics would suggest, then tackle the respray in the back yourself, nothing some masking and use of quality spray packs wont fix. As for the rust, drive it around to a panel shop and ask them to patch it first, doesn't sound like a big job. As far as interior work, any good trimmer can handle the door cards and you could always ship the dash to be re-skinned by the dash Doctor in Melbourne. Cheers John

Guys Think I have come up with a better solution as I mentioned in the last post, so thanks to everyone who came forward, I'm humbled, Scoota feel really bad you made the trip to the cave for them as I know you are busy with Elanor, buddy want to make it up to you so how about a six pack of Crown's next time we meet up? Johnny, You made perfect sense to me, don't forget we are both Balkan Block heads so comprehension is not a problem. I know what you mean, what I am thinking of doing is stripping out all of the filler period first, then running an aluminium plate impregnated just below the surface across the top flat area where it looks like the pad gives way, underneath I will also run another in parallel and sandwich them together using a bead or urethane. After that I think you are right about using a heat resistant expandable material and reforming the pad, great thing is I wont need to finish it with a hard filler to get a paintable finish as all I want to do is have it stitch dressed in suede so the plan will probably be a skin or urethane over the reforms to give it an expandable but durable reskin. Crew, In need of a few items if any one wants to part or sell them. The item in the pic is the bowl and throat of a 260Z (NOT 240Z) dash side air duct, both the left and right are identical. I'm after 2 of them and they don't need to have intact mounts as they are prone to breaking and for my purposes they will be deleted anyway. I have 2 but need another set so I can complete the connection between the fascia ducts and the air con housing with some flexi hose between them. If anyone has a set can you give me Ahoy? Rod The 280Z is basically a 260Z with a fuel injected 2.8L motor. In late 74 - 75 Nissan sped up the introduction of the car into the US as Californian smog requirements meant the NA 2.6L wouldn't cut it. For instance, my shell built 1/75 has a Californian floor pan as there is a pressing to allow for the CAT converter, but its a 260Z so i would safely say that 280Z Tie rods would fit without any drama.
