Forward skirt headlamp panel I guess would be the best discript ion I'd be repairing it rather than disturbing the factory geometry of a panel that looks like it's never been in a smash Cheers John

Not sure he was that smart Scoota, here is an MR2 rack I found on the net, pretty close except for the hydraulic line locations.

I agree, But ones born every day, you will see that he relocated the drivers side hanger about 50mm across, not a big deal, but otherwise it does seem a nice fit. Only car I have come across from pics on the net available that it may be from is a MR2 at this stage. Keep hunting guys ;-) Cheers John

While surfing I came across an interesting obscure build thread from the U.S. showing a Toyota rack being used in a S30 conversion. The builder wont disclose what model Toyota the rack came from. The pictures attached have been reversed so that identification of the rack as a RHD unit is easier, now the $67 question............... Which one of you Autophiles can identify the rack in the photos as a possible new alternative? Cheers John

I've seen a fair few YouTube clips on modifications and fabrication, but never ever anything of the quality and detail that these guys go through. I sat up last night and watched all 4 current episodes, totally P1ssed myself laughing but just as technically brilliant, ANYONE looking at doing a major modification as far as engine etc will get a load of info out of this series. Do yourself a favour, grab a cup of Tea, yes Tea you will figure out why when you watch the series, and get ready to watch Benny Hill meets Top Gear. I have tried communicating with the member who is producing these on HybridZ a few times, but with little success. Take a look at the folloing thred where you will find my post. I also have his email address and have had limited success communicating that way also. I think the best way of showing that us boys down under are interested and serious about doing a group purchase would be for all of you who are interested and are members on Hybrid to post on the following thread where you will find my posts and hopefully this will buy us some cred. One simple word of advice. PLANNING If you work for any business, you will know that business planning is paramount, you should treat your restoration in the same manner. Step one, decide what exactly you want to achieve, concourse restoration, bullet proof every day ride, weekend tourer, acceptable for vintage roadworthy example of the marque, hybrid Z. 2 READ everything you can find once you have decided on what your end goal is. 3 Examine clinically every part of and every part on the car and decide what can be used without any rework, what needs outright replacement, and what can be salvaged and repaired. 4 Spread sheet all of the above and go window shopping for what you need, price it all up. 5 Decide what you can and cannot do and divide it into 2 columns, what you cant achieve you need priced by someone who can 6 Don't lie to youself. 7 Run the adding machine then add a 5% contingency. Me smells a cheaper by the dozen workshop weekend happening somewhere on the North Shore of Sydney coming up LOL As for the tubes, take a bolt, go down to Bunnings and look in the nuts and bolts section, you will find Dyna bolts with a solid tube on them which you can match to your bolts and use, may cost a few bucks each but will quickly solve your problem. Kerrigan There are a few sellers here who have a mix of some New OEM parts but very limited, that said, you will probably find that on this forum, if someone hasnt got the RHD part you are after, they will know who has. What are you after? Tail lamps I'd gather ?

Buddy I assume you are using acrylic primer, it will naturally isolate steel from water. The only reasons I think of the you have had isolated spots appear apart from the rub through sections is that you were not running a moisture trap in the line, and if you are using a small volume compressor that is screaming its head off and cycling hard with the humidity you guys have had in Adelaide in weeks past, then those spots may actually be water that was spat out with the material when you sprayed it. I wrote a prep article for the forum a few years back, I stronly suggest that if you are using a set up that was designed to run small air tools rather than high volume spray equipment that you run an extremely good water trap or ditch using a compressor and spray gun and use a unit like the one this link points to. http://www.bunnings.com.au/ozito-300w-power-paint-spray-gun_p1661264 No moisture issues, no overspray / waste and lays the perfect layer of undercoat / hi-fill for wet surfacing back. All you need to do is experiment with the thinner / material ratio as it doesnt need to be as fluid as a compressed air gun set up. Cheers John
