  1. Hi Mate, If you decide to part it out, I am ultra keen on the rear 5 stud conversion provided it is a 114 x 5 PCD Please PM me a price. Thomas
  2. I probably wont be able to make it until around 7... Would be good to have an undercover place in case of bad weather.... I live a fair way south so am uncertain of good places. Possibly somewhere on King Georges Rd?
  3. I'll hopefully be able to make it I will have my nw cooler piping finished today and hopefully the 5 stud conversion for the arse and my new wheels by then
  4. from memory, well at least 5 years ago, when i went in my mini they had speaker boxes that you could listen to... I have speakers, but no radio in the zed Otherwise, would be very interested.
  5. Hi Ben! By any chance would I be able to check out your develish vehicle when I pick my 240 up from your shop??? Also like to talk to you about bumpers... Regards, Thomas
  6. Hey Pauly! Cheers mate, possibly I will make a couple of brakets. If your keen let me know and I'll make another set.
  7. Id be in for something at night Unless you guys decide to make it city centre or north sydney
  8. Pete give me a yell if you need a hand with the change over... Thomas
  9. Not sure if they'll fit or not, but I am after the brackets for the front bumper that go on the very end... Also, I am going to convert the front of my car back to four stud, so if you have the 260 hubs and anything else I need... Please knock up a price... Please PM me a price, and if I can paypal or dd it to you.
  10. Mate I am only running 8psi to get that figure. Boost holds pretty constant from 3000rpm up to my limiter of 5600rpm. I have just dropped the car off at Drift Garage (Otomoto) to have the dodgy ass cooler piping sorted out. I will also have the pod filter run through the radiator support panel and stuck right out the front, so hopefully no more 60 degree inlet temps! I think the cleaning up of the bends and the steps will give me a few more rwhp, but in reality I am quite satisfied with the power until the engine blows, then I will drop a RB in... Fortunately, and unfortunately, the engine seems in really good nick, so it might be sometime before a RB gets the nod.
  11. I've just dropped my 240 off at Drift Garage, the same place as Otomoto, to have my intercooler piping sorted. Had decent prices and his work looks good. Will get to pick the car up on Wednesday so I will take some photos for all to see. EDIT: I know understand that Drift Garage is a seperate company to Otomoto, they just share a workshop/warehouse. Please see my Drift Garage thread
  12. Indeed, he seems pretty straight down the line... Funny thing though, he said to me he doesnt care about a H pattern on the gearknob... Said you dont need one, SLRs factory had SLR written on their knob not the H pattern.... I wanted the engineers to be 100% certain that when I get pulled in for an RBT they dont red flag my car because its too far modified for a canary. Also, if I have a stack insurance wont cover me... Cops pull anything over they can. Though I havent been hassled in it yet, I dont want to be canaried then get pulled over all the time...
  13. Mate veru interested in the rear brake conversion. Can you please specify further what it comes with? Is it ready to rock and roll, cut backing plates off and bolt up??? What stud pattern, PCD?
  14. Brake Test - Robert has what I can only presume is a G force meter, pretty much the same as the one used in rego checks... So I passed the needed braking force. Belts - Honestly, I am not a z expert nor even a student of the models and their festures, however I can only presume that a 73 would have come out with fixed belts... He said that the fixed belt is fine, but due to the power increase I need a retracetable as a safety upgrade. My thoughts would have been a properly adjusted fixed belt is just as safe - but I didnt argue. I already have a retractable on the drivers side... He also has a Db meter which he did my exhaust noise test with... Allowed 96db at 3/4 of peak power.... I acheived a lovely 95.4db at 4300rpm!!!!
  15. Engineer Update: List of things to fix by end of the month hopefully! - Fit retractable passenger seatbelt - Get rid of spacers and PCD converter plates on rear - probably new wheels and rear brakes needed... - Remove BOV - Possibly have the speedo calibrated for new rolling diameter. We'll see how we go, I know I will need some advice on this
  16. Hey Guys and Girls! After much dicking around with an engineer from wollongong (PM me to find out who), I ended up contacting Peter (mrp69) and asking about his engineer. Apart from being a little late he turned up and got right into the business of checking my car, asking only the questions he needed to and generally being very quiet. After about 30 mins he said "hmmm arent you lucky of the age, you'll get away with the pod filter!" WHAT? My other engineer was being a total prat about that, telling me I needed to fit an OEM airbox from some any make of vehicle. The only thing he picked in the engine bay was my 100% nasty BOV... No biggie, I have almost finished the pipe work to get rid of it. Then he moved onto the wheels... - He doesnt care that I have different stud patterns front to rear! - Brake test is fine. - Track and wheel size is fine. - I have to remove the spacers (front) and the PCD converter plates from the rear... - this is going to be a headache. - I will need to get my speedo recalibrated if I dont get my rolling diameter within 15mm of 590mm.... - Suspension is fine! The only other thing he mentioned was that I will need to fit a retractable belt to the passenger side of the vehicle (already have one on the drivers).... Again, no biggie... So just have to sort the wheels out (and therefore most likely the stud pattern) and I'm set! So please if you have any engineering needs in Sydney contact: Robert Elliot VMC Engineering 0403 328 574 vmc_engineering@dodo.com.au /happy rant
  17. Ok. I will rip out the verniers tonight Question though - due to me having the koni adjustable insert coilover setup would these values remain constant? So your saying that I am using a BMW hub and disc? So your saying the best option is to find a 260 hub and then a suitable disc and go from there? I know of a 260 at a Pick-A-Part not far from home....
  18. Hi guys, Meeting with my new engineer on Wednesday so I thought I best know what going on with the front brakes/suspension... Can you please let me know what struts these are, either 240 or 260??? I know that they are r33 calipers, and BMW 735 discs, but do we think I could pull the disc and have them machined to be 4x113.4 PCD? Are the alloy blocks the bumpsteer removing ones? Cheers, Thomas
  19. Thats all it is, EPA for noise I'm in the process of engineering my L28 turbo and I thought I could box my pod, making an airbox... No deal. The RTA in NSW wants to see an OEM plastic airbox, though ironically, I am allowed to modify the OEM airbox to make it fit Well that was my pain in the ass engineer I had before. I am meeting a new one that Peter used, who apparently was quite easy-going...
  20. Awesome that you got rid of the HICAS. It was a pain in my r33, couldnt imagine how painful it would be in a car that the HICAS computer wasnt designed for... Was fitting the r34 rear subframe a truly painful experience or relatively straight forward?
  21. Ah, I would be in but not so keen on Cumberland Hwy maccas... Awesome for cops and they regularly park a EPA and RTA defect bay in the undercover parking area... That and my car isnt exactly entirely legal, not engineered
  22. i dont think i'll be able to make it this weekend. I have taken the z on another 1000km round trip to coffs and I am coming home tomorrow... Sunday I am walking in the royal national park so i'll be rooted by the night time and probably not up for anything... Should catch up soon... I have ordered my custom ac kit and will post details soon...
  23. Put me down for Sydney. Either my 240z or my 1970 cooper s
  24. Hi mate, tried bond roll bars in sydney?
  25. Thanks! That is some awesome info! Currently I have spacers on front and rear, which are not legal in nsw, but have been designed to change the pcd to 4x100 (honda spacing)... I want to bugger off the spacing... Possibly the simplest option for me would be making the front 4 stud again... That would probably make the engineer the happiest. There is a reasonable range of wheels in the standard PCD isnt there? I dont think my car makes enough grunt to really demand a 5 stud upgrade... I checked out the Modern Motorsport kits available, but with the exchange rate as it is, not really a good option as their kits are far from complete...
