  1. I like your posts Being nice to ignorant people is OK if they have the right attitude, but if newbies posts (like me, the newbie) are rubbish I think people have a right to correct them. You may be an angry man, and its just your way??? If your 'nasty' posts stop the forum becoming like SAU, which is full of idiots, i say write everyone a nasty post every now and again.
  2. Few thoughts. I am running a Haltech F9s 1. The reason a 3BAR MAP sensor reduces clarity of tuning is that given that each range tuning map has 16 levels of input, each level's width is greater because its has a larger amount of pressure to divide. I hope my explanation makes sense. 2. With the current engine, I cannot in any way imagine 20psi let alone 30psi... I think with a host of improvements to the piping, the air intake and other small jobs I will make more power... I need to find myself a factory airbox off something that will fit down the cold side of the engine.... I was seeing intake temps of 65oC due to the poor positioning of the pod filter...
  3. Well, whilst it is no major achievement, my goal of having 200rwhp was achieved today without even leaning on the engine! I took my car down to Screaming Performance where we sorted some base timing issues and fixed the location of the MAP sensor... For some silly reason the car has a 3BAR MAP sensor > I cant imagine running 3 BAR > all it does is reduce the amount of fine tuning we were able to do... We then spent ages pulling heaps of fuel out of the maps in the computer... Ended up with a very nice flat 14.7:1 off boost and 13:1 on boost.... The car now drives much nicer, being able to remain in gear right down to 1000rpm before down changing or coming to a stop. I can also pull from 1000rpm in every gear! Made over 550NM of torque at 3700rpm and 150rwkw or 202rwhp at 4000rpm... I will get the print out and post asap. Also had the exhaust noise checked. Without the silencer in its bum it was 101db and with it 93db - under the limit The silencer killed 15rwhp SO I think I am going to get rid of the stupid cannon on the arse and fit a nice muffler....
  4. I had the car tuned today Makes 150 rwkw, or 202rwhp in the old language! Very torquey as well... Will post the dyno reports
  5. Well........ The Christmas break is well and truly over for me, and I am happy with the progress I have made with the car. On the weekend I finished the installation of the sound system, and buttoned up the carpet... I now have 6 inch splits, mounted in the footwells!!! The crossovers are mounted behind the drivers seat and the amp behind the passengers.... THe new dash panel is trim and finished. I'll post pics asap.
  6. Mike, Can you please take a photo of your boot and send it to me. I will need to get a boot for my console soon and have not seen anything I like. Cheers, Thomas
  7. Hi Mike! Hope the gear stick is still connected If you are looking for clips to hold the boot on, try trim clips that hold on dressings to external seams on cars... The ones from mini seams on should work a treat. Let me know if you want some because I will pick them up and send them on for you. Cheers, Thomas
  8. Well in the process of tidying the birds nest under the dash, I have lost ignition some where along the line. I definately think fixing this part is beyond my skill so I have called in a pro auto-elcetrician... Should find out tomorrow... On the bright side, I might have solved the placement of my front plits problem... Will post pics asap.
  9. Thanks. Black does indeed look a lot nicer. I have spent 6 hours today fixing the shitty wiring in the car... Now I will get back onto doing the dash and sound system...
  10. Well progress I have retrimmed the transmission tunnel in black vinyl and it looks infinately better than the brown cross hatch. I still have the original covering with no tears should anyone be interested. The nasty suprise was finding lots of little holes in the floor... Which funnily enough would explain the wet feet after driving it in the rain for a short while. So I pull out the welder and zapped them all up... There was some bigger parts which I had to cut and repair...
  11. Seats now up on ebay... http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250348412499
  12. Cheers Pauly, I will give them a call and see on Monday.... Thomas.
  13. Easy decision dude. DO THE SWAP... If your not planning on selling it and there are no major issues with the 260, they will become heaps more collectible and definately have the looks over the z31
  14. Hmmmm, used to work at Revo and I cant remember selling these spanners ever... But i'll go check out the nearest one... Maybe justjap would have one.... Yeah, I dont use hammers on things that werent designed for it...
  15. Hi guys, Does anyone have the tool, or know where I can get the tool, for the coilovers in the pic to change the spring height??? Cheers for the help Thomas
  16. Well guys today was MASSIVE I started out the day by Modifying Michael's gear-stick so that he can fit his centre console back in.... Hope it works out well for him Then, I changed the oil, filter and spark plugs in the car. Runs so much smoother now... One thiing that had me baffled was the amount of condensation / water that came out the exhaust when I turned it on... I did a compression check before I bought the car and all cylinders were a nice 125psi each - so I hope it is just condensation as I hadnt turned the car on in a few days... Next - THE CENTRE CONSOLE My centre console was pretty badly cracked and not in nice shape. Enter the nasty fibreglass crap... Here some photos of the dash pre-glass... I then used my trusty dremmel to sand back all the edges of the cracks and drill the ends to stop from from opening up again once they are glassed up. I hate fiberglass. I am itchy all over from the shit. But, heres some of the photos of the topside glassing.... And then sanded back so that just the cracks have been filled up. I will glass the backside of the cracks tomorrow. Then the nasty business of sanding all the texture off, bogging the console so that it can be high-filled and then painted with the texture paint... I am thinking that I am going to remove the ashtray and build in a cup holder. Just so people dont think that i'm lazy, I then removed the shitty centre dash panel and have made a new one, that fits better and mounted my new head unit in. here it is... Tell me any thoughts or suggestions.... Cheers
  17. Do they stutter because they arent getting enough fuel? Ie, do you need a surge tank? Or is there a misticle weber setup issue? I dont have any issues with my single 45DCOE on my cooper s and believe me when I say that it gets chucked around something horrid
  18. The seats bolt to the original seat runners, so they retain exactly the same forward-back movement of the original seats...
  19. I hope so... Back from Holi'd up the coast now, so I should get som decent work into the car over the next 12 days I bought new engine, box and diff oils which I will change out tomorrow...
  20. Hi guys, I have the seats out of the 240z up forsale as I put the originals in because its a daily driver, and i'm fat They are ADR approved and will mount directly to the seat brackets, so you retain the front back movement. I was thinking of $500 for the pair including the brackets. I have the 3 poinbt harness's as well for people that are interested.
  21. And some photos of the decidedly dodegy engine bay: With the new GTR BOV it should clean the bay up a bit... I want to have a good look at the intercooler piping over the Christmas break and TIDY THE DAMN WIRING!!!
  22. Well some photos of the new sound system, the crazy under bonnet sight and the new speaker boxes that will be hopefully look great in the car. So here is the kit to date: And the rough beginning of the speaker boxes: Can anyone with speakers mounted in the fornt of their car please post some photos so I can get an idea how to mount some in the front so that I get a well staged sound??? I have had only decent speakers in the rear of the line, and I am getting annoyed with having sound coming from behind.
  23. Well, I now have remote central locking!!! The car has a proper alarm installed now and its fully insured up because of it I bought my new sound system, well parts, for the car as well... Pioneer head unit with Ipod and Bluetooth..., Soundstream splits and 4 channel amp cranking out some serious power.... Now just have to et it into the car... Will be getting the car up on stands today or tomorrow and we'll see what sort of condition the rest of the car is in. Have bought a R34 GTR blow off vlave for the car as well... Will post pics asap..
  24. Nice to meet you all last night. Some really nice cars. I got home at 11:20
  25. Still at work and I want to chnage the drivers seat over before I come out so I can walk at the end on the night
