  1. Unfortunately for me I do not have little arms, nor hands... But I did get the job done! And it was piss easy Basically one of the wires off the back of the light had wriggled loose.... Plug it back on, and Bobs your uncle, Marys your Aunt, and its fixed.
  2. Love your work. Question, why are you running external coils rather then the standard or splitfire coil packs? Doesnt it just clutter the bay more and provide another connection that can go wrong? Also, are you planning on running the valley cover? They are designed to run a valley cover as dirt can enter the timing belt housing from inside the valley i it doesnt have a cover.... Rare to have issues, but a couple of people on SAU with 33's have run into it.
  3. Hi guys and girls! Interesting conundrum... I have recently had my alternator totally refurbished by Narellan Auto Electrical, a firm I have had a long time relationship with and trust their work. I also had them go over the car and check the head light wiring (which looked like vomited spaghetti) and make sure that I didnt have anything draining too much current when it is off... I leave the car last Thursday at home, it was working fine and didnt have any issues what so ever, and go off for the weekend. I drive it to work on Tuesday and yesterday (approx 150km), and the battery goes completely flat - cant start it. I drove it back to the auto electrician and he tells me it must be the warning light circuit. Apparently the warning light circuit on a 240 is the circuit that tells the alternator to charge or not, and when it is broken, it doesnt charge... Does this ring true for anyone? All I can say is, that when I get the warning light on (on accessories), then turn the car on (light goes off), the alternator charges. Currently, the warning light does not illuminate at all and I am not charging... Does anyone have any knowledge about this? If so, can you please let me know of some potential problems... Cheers, Thomas
  4. indeed, then again, for a big fat bastard like me, crawling under the steering wheel to look at electrics is like climbing into a straight jacket, i cant move Back on topic: I have found out a way to excite the alternator into charging! You use a test light and clip the end onto the positive (charge) outlet on the back of the alternator... Then, you touch the tip onto the warning light connection on the back This makes it feel all warm and fuzzy, then it starts winking at you and charging *forgive the rant* Giving blood makes head go weak...
  5. i thought slitting my wrists might be more fun Then I realised that if do that, the job will never end... At least once I find the problem it will be solved
  6. Cheers I have a bosch alternator on the car, and since posting that it was dodgey I have had it rebuilt... As with all things old, i fix the laternator because it wasnt charging properly and guess what happens next... The wiring to the alternator that "stimulates" it into charging (the warning light circuit) has gone bad somewhere.... so my newly rebuilt alternator isnt doing shit! Now I have to stick my head up under the dash to fix it all.... Except, I dont know whats gone wrong... Definately am going to install a volt guage to find out what the hell is going on....
  7. Looks sweet mate... What computer are you going to run??? Any thoughts yet? Love the look of the RB in there.... I had 350rwhp in my r33 and that was quick, and an abslute hoot to drive... 350rwhp in a 1000kg car.... NICE

  15. oh these were broken a while back, but didnt think it was as bad as it is.... At any rate a new alternater cant be too expensive right?
  16. Well I have my engineers certificate I only have to go and get a weigh bridge cert, then take it to a blue slip inspector to have my records ammended... Never ends... I thought this was the last little spend i'd be doing in a while, however my alternator isnt charging the battery (which is brand new) and I keep getting flats..... So will need to sort that out

  19. Re check previous post Lurch Otomoto has some really good gear for sale, and Ben was really helpful information wise. I don't think ben wanted to source 2nd hand parts for me which is fine. I spose I have bought a bit from Otomoto in the last day (all the silcone joints) and they look great. Otomoto is a great shop, and Ben was quite informative... Damn alcohol making things come out the wrong way.
  20. I have had my 240z at Drift Garage for the past few days having my intercooler piping redone and moving my pod filter to in front of the radiator support panel. I am stoked with the quality of Luis's (owner of Drift Garage) work. The pipe work is neatly routed, and he has laid very nice TIG welds on all the pipes. He had fair prices considering the quality of work. He was spot on about turn around time. I am going to use him for more fabrication in the future. Please see my build thread for pictures of the new pipework. 21. Well I just got back from Drift Garage!!!! Lewis is awesome and his skills are awesome! He has redone a heap of intercooler piping in the engine, moved the pod filter out the front of the radiator support panel. Check it out below. DRIFT GARAGE: aweomse. He prices are pretty good. PM me and i'll let you know. I tried talking to Otomoto about wheel and hub options and possibly having them source some parts for me but they didnt seem interested... I have spoken to my engineer and basically come to the conclusion that I am not going to engineer my wheels, but will get a report for the turbo, efi, brakes and suspension So as of next Wednesday I will be totally legal Well, apart from the massive spacers and the wheels
