Hey everyone, so I've decided to get my car lowered as the wheel gap makes me a sad panda. The rear would drop about 3cm's - my bushings still look good but I'm thinking of urethane replacements, are they worth it? Thanks!

yeah be careful not to round off the plug, I've had to do the hammer & screwdriver trick to one of my previous cars but it was a swaybar link where the nut rounded on me. I've read on here or another forum that you can fill up the gearbox using the breather hole inside the cabin where the shifter is? you might have to take out the ash tray or remove the shifter boot but I'm sure someone on here can confirm good luck mate

The organisers could set up a fred flinstone drag race for all the rolling shells? I'll keep my eye on info for this event but I might be overseas for easter next year

I was at bodyform last night getting my airdam fitted. Personally I can't speak any higher for Peter, he's a genuinely good bloke & takes pride in his work. He's done plenty of wide body kits & custom makes stuff for himself just for the fun of it so a simple flare job should be easy work as long as there isn't much adjusting needed or cutting into the metal guards. Even if it did involve cutting it would be fine he can do the job. I've taken all my previous cars to get work done by Peter even when he was at his old workshop in Prestons. If you go there tell him Phil with the old school white zed recommended you The only thing I will warn you about is that the complex where his workshop is in Smithfield has really high speed humps, not really lowered car friendly, honestly I don't know how half of his customers even get to his shop hahaha

yeah definitely looking into fender mirrors but not a priority for me at this stage. Probably next is getting the guards rolled very slightly & getting coilovers + Adjustable control arms, that way I can lower it a bit & also give me some adjustability should I want to take it out on a track day in future edit: never really thought of headlight covers before, I've seen them on zed's before though. could be good insurance from any rock chips i suppose

Front airdam fitted & picked up my custom plates. Since my car doesn't have any badges my plates can remind me what I'm driving :P

Welcome mate! hmm red manual with tan interior in qld. I think I know the one you bought, it was either advertised here or on carsales as I was looking for a zed very recently myself. The members on here have a wealth of knowledge & helped me out when I ask questions or advice enjoy zed ownership!

^That version actually doesn't look too bad. The blue one on the first page... something about the proportions & the way they molded the rear hatch just looks weird I can see the resemblance, but you'd have to be buried in the foetal position to fit in the back of that hehe Does anyone know what's in the boot of that first one? My guess is either a guitar amp or some kind of portable easy-bake oven

had the front discs machined and changed pads, flushed the system to make sure no air. rear drums were fine after I fixed up my prior mishap, the shoes still have plenty of meat on them & I adjusted it according to the backing plate guides. Even so the 280zx booster still would make the rears bite too harsh. for eg. I could be braking from 50km/h and even at that speed not even slamming on the brakes the rear tyres would chirp, at worst it would want to fishtail even under dry conditions Once I got the stock booster reconditioned & refitted it was braking normally, passed rego with flying colours

Hi, yeah I had the stock booster reco'd rear drums I adjusted the adjustment wheel until I felt resistance from the shoes touching the drum, then I reversed the adjustment wheel almost a full turn back. With the car jacked up and the handbrake off if I spun the wheels with force they would spin about 1.5 revolution before they settled to a stop.

Got my Watanabes fitted. Was already dark when I got home from the tyre shop. I'll take some better pics on the weekend after I get my air dam fitted. Can anyone also tell me the oil capacity of the gearbox? is it 2.5/3L? more? Standard 5 speed box. Cheers!
