  1. Engine type: 302 Cleveland Engine Size: 4.9 Litre Tank size: 60 Litres Kilometers to tank: 240 25 L/100km This is city Kilometers only. Highway Kilometers have a far better range becuse of my right foot to mechanical noise addiction.
  2. Welcome, i was just down that neck of the woods a few weeks ago. Can't wait to see some pics.
  3. Heaps of bad engine builders around too, hence the title. The Only person i would hand my L Series onto is Pete, you can see it in his eyes how much passion he has for these brillant engines.
  4. Perhaps another member up north has a copy you can lend, i have a copy here that i haven't opened in 2 years (apart from today). I stored all the info on my Organic HDD.
  5. The tuning book says 15mm seated and 25mm droop. I find the best way to check if they are right is to let them fill up with fuel and pull out an emulsion tube. Down the emulsion hole you will see another hole on the side. If your fuel level is about 5mm below that it should be spot on.
  6. It only has the wire and connection through the stalk, no plastic button.
  7. Ahhh, you'll need the switch behind it like my other Zed did.
  8. I have one here, no electrics attached. Will need another plastic end as well. Would that suit?
  9. B&W is now my new wallpaper!
  10. Excellent Ash, the lever may be bent a little as well. I would strip them and paint for a super clean finish. All you will need now is a set of plastic covers that hide the mechanisim and you'll be set.
  11. Is the function of the hole for draining purposes? Price seems ok for the ebay bushes, i have a brand new set here but one is missing a metal sleeve.
  12. Welcome, can't believe the condition of that Zed. It looks more like a time capsule, obviously someone has cared for it dearly. Sweet Ride!
  13. Somethings a miss hey! Paging Peter Mac? I WOULD NOT drive it!!!
  14. I would say the main negative lead has come loose causing all the power to be redirected to the smaller lead overheating it. I have two main leads to my engine from the negative.
  15. Excellent, glad i could help out.
  16. Nice, if you want to have a chat i'll PM you my phone number. Tonite i'm taking my V8 Zed on it's first trip to Melbourne. I'll be staying overnight and heading back after 10am.
  17. I just finished a 302 Cleveland Conversion fitted to a 2+2 in Vic. Used solid rotors on the front with hilux calipers, R31 Rears and a proportioning valve. I extended the chassis rails to the rear and that was it for strenghening. Brakes pulled a .93 negative G's on the enginneering test which a pass is .8 then on the roadworthy it pulled a max of 1.47 Negative G's. Tailshaft was reworked by a local firm. Is yours a 2 seater? 1100 Kilos means you can only fit up to 4.4 litre capacity. Mark K
  18. Tempting but what if it goes on club rego next year? Plus i would be giving it all away and miss out on 70% of the traffic light races, that extra torque sure does go a long way.
  19. Two things (ebay related) 1. Mossy needs to change his ebay id or let me have it (no V8 Zed for you) 2. Stivva needs to update his location details. I always though that doors were $500 a pop, price will depend on condition. With Mossy you know you are getting honest parts and after all he is going to put it towards his Zed! Try finding them elsewhere.
  20. Sorted, full set will be posted out tomorrow.
  21. I know that feeling. Had to travel back from Lurch's place with a hot water bottle once.
  22. No sorry i don't. I used the only spare one i had on my other zed to replace the toggle switch i had mounted there because of a previous failure. Mind you the toggle switch lasted 12 years and was still working fine.
  23. Sure did. That was the one that broke. Rest of the mechanisim is ok.
  24. I found a switch at Jaycar today and modified the Zed carrier to suit. Just need to wire it up and see if it's a goer. Function seems to work the same as a stock one.
  25. Hi guys. My headlight switch activated by the indicator stalk for the high an low beam fell apart. I was wondering if anyone has one or know of a suitable replacement? Cheers
