  2. We is all here to help (Yes lurch i'm talking to you) Some more stats on the car would help, type of Carbies, Ignition system ... blah blah .. and photo's are even better. Check and see if it's got fuel, what condition it's in or if it is getting to where it's meant to go. Sounds like your friend has been giving it the "Buscuits"

  5. I'd say man up and post some pictures, mine's there, warts and all. Oscar (my zed) was also at the rust repair day for everyone to see. No one said "omg what a rusted piece of crap" we all know how rust can affect our Cars. It's not what the car is because mine didn't get that way because i neglected it, it's that now everytime i put in another weekend, hour, $500- $1000 i get one step closer to that goal. I Will achieve my goal.

  8. All assembled now and i ordered camtower shims From Stewart Wilkins, i think it will just sit there now until i rework the engine bay although i can just feel i'll get tempted one of these weekends. I also think one of those twin idler gear http://www.kameariusa.com/L6_Twin_Idler_Gear.php would be a good addition. I found one on another site $200 cheaper. But for now i think i'll go buy some more paint and reskin the Passenger side door as the weather is starting to improve.

  11. Assuming it's all standard equipment there's a solenoid right next to the fuel pump. Try testing the solenoid.

  14. Gee you came to the right place. First of all, welcome! Second, do not take the car to another mechanic until you have done more research. Pleanty of info here. Third, Dimitri and Lurch have the right advice... older 240Z carbs and electronic dizzy is a must. Fourth, look in the for sale section here or ebay for the Bits you need ( there was an Electronic Dizzy on Ebay just this week). Fifth, place an ad in wanted section on this forum and stay tuned. Just like baking a cake really.
  15. This has the details of the head mods. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,6905.0.html As for the compression ratio, it was bolted to a L28 with flat tops so on an L26 with dished i expect it to be streetable. I just want a little more than i have (ever heard that before).
  16. Here's one from the Frankston Peninsula News Wednesday November 14th 1973

  23. Chasing a Rattle in my freshly built L26 last year and it turned out to be a build of crap in the crank where the flexplate bolts on allowing me to tighten up to the specific torque but leaving the plate able to move back and forward but not by hand. Stripped the engine down twice and also had the transmission out for this.
