Im guessing this answers my question on your car thread ben. Are you using these for your car? Or is there something more advanced being engineered by HSD?
-
Hi, I'm weighing up my options at the moment on where i should go. I'd love to send it over the east side to have people with zed knowledge working on the car but i also don't want to travel the distance. But nothing really beats zed knowledge. The only days I have free at the moment are weekends and next Tuesday and i need to organise a tow as well. It also looks likes its going to be raining all weekend too... which is saddening to say because my car has yet to be in the rain since its return to my garage.

Hey Ben, I was wondering how the suspension mods were going? Are you planning on making it bolt-on? Are you planning on selling the end-product? Very interested.

That's what you call Zed community! It's international. Can we get a review/article/feature on this car? I'd love to read about it. The only things I've really known about the car is its Honda Championship white from pms.
-
I knew this car looks familiar. His a member on the jdmst website. Beautiful white car in honda championship white. I'm sure he won't mind me doing this, i've pmed him a few times about his car. Anyways this is his car in more detail. FOR THE LOVE OF THE Z!

WOW, I'm no studio photographer but i use: Canon 5D mark I (thinking of going mark II) 24-70mm F2.8 L 70-200mm F2.8L IS 2 x 580ex II St-e2 for strobist fun (esp automotive photography) pretty good kit I would say. My kit is pretty much $5000 in price roughly at the moment. Also thinking of buying a 16-35mm II at the right price and a 15mm fisheye to complete my set. Then I'll buy a few more tripods/flashes and umbrella kits. A good camera to start off with is the 450D. If you want more of a learning kirb maybe try a 50D. I know a lot of people who start photography start with a 450D and within 6 months they just jump to a 40-50D. I'm just adding stuff to Sexual_sushi's post but theres a g10 out now which is the newer model of the g9. It's the top of the range point and shoot for canon. which allows raw photography for post editing.

Hi guys, sorry for bringing a thread out of the grave. I'm in need of a place to finish off my car. As I'm working crazy hours for the next few months (new building delivered at Melbourne University and I'm commissioning and decommissioning assets). What I need done is a manual conversion(I have all parts except bolts) and for the dash and wiring to be checked and put back in. I just don't have the time any more to finish it. Preferably someone on the inner west side of Melbourne. Even an enthusiast who can do this, I'm willing to pay big $$$ to finish it off and get it on the road.

Yep, I'll be sticking with N/A for the time being. I'd really love to go ITBs like Dimitri and then add a twin turbo kit to that. But thats a dream with a value of $20,000+. -

Hi S30Mike, My current plans for the engine will be to run the L28 i have stored away in the bad shed. Of course with some 45mm Tripple Webbers and Dimitri's old L series exhaust system. All of which i have possession at the moment just want to get them in at a later date. I will most likely get my mechanic friend to have a look at the L28 before popping it in. Maybe looking at a more aggressive cam as well to go with the Webbers. -

Hi, is this still up and running? my 240z MC just doesn't cut it after i did the rear brake conversion. Just feels spongey somewhat. It would be good to get my hands on a 280zx 15/16 MC. I'm in. -
ASH! HILARIOUS! your garage is so full where are you going to store it? Wait... do you need to me to do some trade (parts)? lol to free up your garage?

Hi All, Not much of a zed update. Thought i'd give a bit of a status update. My contract and working schedule has changed once again as it is now holidays for universities so i now move to full-time working schedules. I chose to do the full-time to purchase another car. My brother ended up selling the AE86 only 9 months after he had bought it. We also sold the common runaround vehicle to purchase a Mitsubishi Evolution 8. He found that after purchasing the AE86 he wanted to have a more modern vehicle without the rattles, harsh rides and discomforts that come with an old classic. There are a lot of pics so i won't implant them into here. But i'll leave a link here. http://www.flickr.com/photos/snapsterau/sets/72157610197280572/ Basically its the journey we did last wednesday to get the vehicle. Story is 2 people (including my brother) decided to buy vehicles in Sydney. So we booked our flights, went to sydney, got picked up from the airport by both sellers, did our road tests, purchased the vehicle and started our drive back to Melbourne. First and foremost i must say. YOU SYDNIANS! i feel your pain... your roads suck... there is no comparison, i believe NSW has the worst roads in all of Australia. For the price you pay for registration on your vehicles plus the roadworthy every year being over 1000 dollars and to have that pathetic standards of roads is really heartbreaking to see. However because of that... you baby your cars more then Melbournians and ultimately they sell cheaper as cars are some what less demanded in Sydney then it is in Melbourne. If i had bought a similar car in Melbourne i'd be looking at $6000+. Overall i'm very happy with the bargain purchase we made. Not just my brothers car but also my friends car. The Evo 8 is a JDM model made in 03 and had only been imported less then 9 months ago. It has only done 42 000 kms and has a set of brand new bridgestone potenza RE001R valued at 1500. The car is completely stock. The STI is an 05 MY06 model with only 42 000 kms. The previous owner bought this car for $63 000 then added at least $ 15 000 on top in modifications. His the respectable kind of car enthusiast you'd want to buy your car off. Whereby his done his research and had a very nice vision on his outcome. The car has custom full leather interior value at $5000, DEFI triple gauge stack, intake and exhaust and intercooler mods. Exterior looks completely stock but it is a beast underneath, doing 240kw at all fours. The poor bugger sold it to us for $40 000 and still had $9000 owing to finance. Not to mention throwing in all stock parts and extras including 2 extra rims. Only reason why the previous owner sold it is because he needs it gone as its taking up a garage space, why you ask?, well of course its for his R35 which is arriving in 2 weeks time. He paid $155 000 for the R35 including delivery costs for all those that are interested. But plus his also got a E65 AMG for his family car and his son whose 21 drives a EVO X, his daughter drives a golf GTI with the double clutch gearbox. :'( why can't i be that rich?. I was with subaru team on purchasing. I refused to do a test drive and was pretty much shoved into the drivers seat by the seller and the whole time i was crapping myself and i didn't want to go past 40km/hr, firstly being its not my car and secondly i'm not buying it - my friend is. So there i am totally taking it easy. While the whole time i was crapping myself the seller was telling me to floor it. He was a very cool bloke. Both cars were unbelievable bargains. Espeacially the STI as there is no way if we bought another car would it be able to have that much add ons and extras. We can literally sell 2 sets of sway bars, an extra titanium strut brace and another 2 exhaust systems, for over 2000 alone on the used market. Surprised it all fitted into the boot and rear seats. Anyways i hope you guys enjoyed my update, sorry it wasn't to zed. As for the zed I've ordered a clutch fork and bearing springs and should arrive next week for me to finish off my manual conversion. -
Hey Lou, I have some old pics somewhere if you need them. From the time it arrived at the panel beaters. Fu

Hi guys, As there are many gearboxes for sale from time to time, i was wondering if anyone had a fairly decent condition clutch fork and spring/clip (also known as t/o bearing spring) for that clutch fork. Further information: I have the bearing unit with a t/o bearing spring for the bearing unit however i need the t/o bearing spring for the clutch fork. I'm in the middle of my manual conversion and would very much like to buy this used rather then shipped from the U.S. Regards, Fu

I'm not sure if others have received theirs yet, but i just got mine in the mail. Just wanted to start informing people whats coming. -
Yep i got them. Autopro in my local area closed so i drove a bit to get to the nearest one and managed to pick up a pack of 2 for $4. Thanks once again Pauly. Now my doors are complete.
-
For future reference. These Door Wedges are 18.10mm for the stock or solex equivalent. Also they are known as U clips in the automotive industry.
-
YES! like those. Oh god i need to get them. I need 2 and my doors are complete. Thanks Pauly, Just realised theres an autopro in footscray just minutes away from where i live. I'll head down there tomorrow and make my order. Does anyone know the size? Otherwise i'll measure it tomorrow when i remove them from the car.
-
Hi Dimitri, are you looking for used? or sourced locally? Because i just bought a set from thezstore, all new parts/accessories for the hatch and the bonnet area. Just wondering if you considered overseas.
-
Hi guys, I'm after a set of 2 x door lock wedges. Or if anyone knows where i can find them please post here. I've looked at most places such as bursons, supercheap and coventry fasteners but no luck. Thanks for the help much appreciated.
