  1. All the best for your relocation Rev, stay safe and I hope you have a great time! Keep in touch bro
  2. Very impressed John, looks a bit odd with the newer climate controls with ye olde clock in the middle, but I love it, very cool. You know, it's getting to the stage that there's lots of interesting builds going on, maybe we should organise a day to cruise and visit some of these project cars in the flesh?
  3. Welcome Mick, Hope your dream turns into a reality, best of luck with the build. Put up some pics of your Z when you get a chance
  4. Looking good Ben. I'm not usually a fan of the wrinkle paint, but that looks really good Maybe its the contrast to the black bay and clean engine parts? Keep up the good work.
  5. Congrats mate! Glad, but not surprised to hear that she passed! You'll have to post some pics when you take her out for the first spin
  6. Happy birthday G-man. I will have to shout you a beer or something for missing out on your birthday shenanigans.
  7. Sorry guys, but I will have to miss out now. I know, poor excuses, but I have to fix my daily driver, and have a slight opening to do some work on my Z for the first time in a month. Annoyed that I'll miss the workshop, but I hope everyone has a great time.
  8. Looking good Pete! Good to see a build getting towards 'completion' (are Z projects ever finished?). Best of luck with the roadworthy, though I'm sure you won't need it
  9. Hey guys, I'll probably be hitching a ride down in the Scoot-a-matic. I'll give you a call tonight Scoota. Come along Dave, we don't nearly have enough catch ups as it is! Hmm, maybe we need a plan to kidnap Rev after the service?
  10. They made the same comment in one of the earlier mags... I guess they haven't had time for much research?
  11. Gee, that makes Dale and I sound like a fun bunch mate! True though, it was quite a mundane trip compared to the last few, however, the quiet trip was also a novelty.
  12. Hi Luke, I don't think you'd find anyone on here that thinks any project featuring a Z is boring Best of luck with it, the competition with your dad sounds like a great way to keep you both motivated, friendly competition never hurts. Any idea on what you're going to do with the colour? I quite like the lime!
  13. Mate, you have to realize, it's harder to get emotions across in text than it is face to face, so it's best not to throw knives or have a dig a people until you get to know them. I've been around for a few years now and haven't had a bad experience in the club yet, all I've seen is a bunch of blokes who will do anything they can, to help you out. On the roadworthy topic, I don't see the problem, my Z is nowhere near the roadworthy stage, but I already know the bloke I'll be taking it too because of the cars he deals with and I've had a chat to him and like how he operates. I don't see why you would take a car to 6 different shops to get a RWC.. Just take it to one, get the list of things to fix, fix them and then take it back...
  14. PM sent. If Brabham's only interested in the compressor, I'm sure we can figure something out (I already have one). Cheers.
  15. It has to be your alter ego then Mr. Spam-aster... I don't get how these are profitable.. I mean, who of us are actually going to click on one of the links, or buy something from someone who appears so shifty....
  16. Hmmm, interesting.. My 2+2 parts car was apparently built by the Datsun Racing Team but I just assumed it was just 'sellers spin' (from the bloke my mate bought it from). But would like to have a chat to Gordon if he was around the forums, to clarify..
  17. Good to see another 2+2 receiving some love. Have you thought about what you're doing with the sunroof? Are you going to chase a new roof, or are you keeping it? Cheers.
  18. Good to hear it went well mate. Lets get some photos happening Why did you remove the A/C? Just wanted to save about 100 kilos?
  19. Great news Bruce, best of luck with the startup. Your Z won't know itself now it's back to running on 6 cylinders again
  20. My condolences to you and your family Bruce. I jammed my finger under my A/C compressor, so I can feel your pain on that one mate, damn heavy things they are!
  21. Many thanks to Lurch and his folks for their hospitality and for allowing us to use their property again. Thanks must also go to Pete, for giving up his time to pass on a portion of his extensive knowledge. I know I learnt a lot today. These type of events are few and far between and are an incredible source of knowledge and inspiration for new guys like myself. Cheers to the rat crew for making the trip, once again, quite interesting.
  22. Geebus Simon, great buy! Now you need a couple more Z's to put those carbs into
  23. Someone need a new engine? http://cgi.ebay.com.au/L28-engine-Datsun-240z-260z-280z-/220724500470?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item33643497f6
  24. and yet, nobody cared about the body we had wrapped up in the trailer..... weird
  25. Hey bloke, If d3c0y wasn't able to help, let me know, I have a spare hinge, although it's missing the tension(?) rods that run between them. Cheers, Rob
