  1. Nav, the boys are just trying to help you out. You have to attract the buyer, not the other way around, the way to do that is to describe what you're selling. Put it this way, I'm selling a TV, would you buy (or even enquire about) my TV for $3k if that's all you knew (that it was a TV)? or would you want me to tell you the size, resolution, inputs, if it's digital, if it's an LCD / plasma / tube? Honestly, you'd probably just move on to the next ad and not even bother messaging me about it. It'd take 30 seconds to type out the specs of the engine. If you can't be bothered doing this, then why should the potential buyer bother chasing you for the info? My 2 cents anyway, good luck with the sale
  2. Great job Mick, good choice to return it to the original colour
  3. I have the Tamiya and HPI Radio Controlled Z's sitting at home waiting to be built, well, more correctly, the Tamiya one is waiting for me to finish the HPI one, and the HPI one is waiting for me to go to the bearing shop so I can purchase the ball bearings which HPI decided not to include in my kit Apparently diffs will function quite well without these. However, the rest of the kit looks great.
  4. I would be a bit concerned about the amount of rust that's coming through the paint, which is all fixable, for a price. I'm not sure of the roadworthy rules up there so I'm not sure how you'd go getting it registered so you could drive it around? It does have a few goodies with it, it's just a pity that they haven't put the same amount of $$$ into the body. The car has been for sale for a while now, so not sure if there's anything that's not really showing in the pictures (although, I haven't seen the pictures of the rust when I've looked at the ad previously).
  5. Hi Bruce, good to hear the cleanup is finished and the insurance mob were helpful! I suppose you don't get reimbursed for the loss of 5 days trade, do you? Your accident seems to be the talk of the town, I was chatting to a colleague from Traralgon earlier, who has just returned from leave, and he was saying how everyone in the office kept telling him about some crazy old lady who decided to park inside one of the nearby shops... Best of luck with getting everything back on track.
  6. Try page 2 of this link, think Bruce has changed the name of the album: http://s397.photobucket.com/albums/pp52/spamaster240z/opps%20what%20happen%20to%20my%20shop%20it%20not%20a%20drive%20throu/ Good to hear noone was hurt Bruce, hope the cleanup goes well. 7. Good work Matt, great to see progress happening on the old bus
  8. Ahh good stuff, is he open as a Z wrecker? Or is his business restoration work only?
  9. Just noticed this one, there's some interesting cars in the background too. Might need a bit of rust repair though..... Dale, feel like saving another one? http://www.carsales.com.au/all-cars/private/details.aspx?R=11516947&__Qpb=1&Cr=0&__Ns=pCar_RankSort_Int32|1||pCar_PriceSort_Decimal|1||pCar_Make_String|0||pCar_Model_String|0&keywords=&__N=1216%201246%201247%201252%201282%204294966615%204294966408&SearchAction=N&silo=1011&seot=1&tsrc=allcarhome&__Nne=15&trecs=3&__sid=12EA4AB5D654
  10. In my opinion, if you want a black bumpers then you have to make it part of the colour scheme for the whole car. Like what the bloke has done with this Z (and many others) where there's the black rear spoiler, mirrors and flares. I'm not sure if I'm painting my front spoiler yet, I'll have a black rear spoiler, black mirrors and a couple of other black items. If you just had a black front spoiler, I dunno, depends on the car. Doesn't Bruce have a black front bumper on his? It looks pretty good.
  11. Pic of how they look on the car as it was sold. The car doesn't have any major mods to the suspension, I think it has 260z springs and has gas struts in it (no coilovers etc). All 4 were in the same condition (very good), the original owner looked after the car very well. Wouldn't hurt to chuck up a ballpark figure that you're looking for either, might help your sale
  12. Congrats Benny, good to hear everyone is doing well.
  13. Considering the ad is nearly 3 years old, I'd say probably gone.. If not sold, gone to the scrap heap.
  14. I'm yet to find someone here who actually thinks that installing 'bolt ons' is molesting and destroying a classic car.. If they do, then they're kidding themselves.. You simply unbolt and bam, you have a stock car again lol. If I had a mechanic and he was agressive and threatening, I'd be telling him to jam it up his a$$ and taking my car to someone else. I started off not really liking the standard front on a Z, but now I actually like it.
  15. Nice pickup Ben. Looks immaculate from the photos. Was getting worried, with you and Rev getting rid of your Z's.. But I guess it's 'like father, like son' haha
  16. Hi Steve, My missus has always taken her cars to Alan at 'Market Street Tyre and Mechanical', he's the owner of the business and has always helped her out. She's also drummed up a bit of business from her friends for him (the business was struggling a bit when he bought it a few years ago) and I haven't heard them say anything bad about him. Not sure if he has all the Holden diagnostic computer stuff, but I have seen a few Commo's in there. Cheers, Rob
  17. Good stuff Matt, looks great from the photo. Must be a relief now that you've got that guard on and it starts looking like a car again! +karma for your commitment to the bus!
  18. Firstly, welcome! Yep, +1 for that! Why would you put those rims on, if the tyres don't fit.. Either modify the body, or get some proper wheels! That Red 2 seater has had a considerable price drop recently, it's been for sale for a while, it's talked about on this forum in various posts. It's not quite as clean as it's made out in the photos and may not be worth the money he's talking (if you can beat him down, might be a good deal). Good luck, let us know how you get on.
  19. So, it's a 'completely original condition' 260z, with an L28 and 240z carbs... lol!
  20. Wow, good work mate, I'll give you a call this arvo, if you're around tonight I might drop by on way home to have a look
  21. Laurence is here every now and again, he came down to one of our meets as well. There was another bloke, but I'm not sure if he ended up with a Z or not. So this is going to replace the trx as the track car is it? Did anyone end up buying your KA, or did you end up sticking it under the bench? Cheers.
  22. Welcome Shaun, Seems we are getting a few more of the antrx members on here with different projects. Can't wait for the pics, sounds like an interesting build. Cheers, Rob
  23. Happy birthday big fella.
  24. Happy birthday Dimitri, hope you have a great day!
  25. Hey scoota, lookin' good mate, I might have to drop around for a look-see At least its come to someone who's going to do the job properly this time!
