  1. Hi guys - removed the heater core today and repaired and then did a stupid thing! I put it under pressure to check for leaks and obviously had to much pressure and basically stuffed it completely! So, I'm looking to see if anyone has a spare? Thanks Rev
  2. Update on the DIY dash resto! After carving out the cracks and excavating under the surrounding vinyl or the cracks I filled with 'expandafoam'. Once that had set I then cut down around 1.5cm to give sufficient depth to the bumper filler that I used as the solid substrate. I built this up and sanded between layers to check height and adhesion. I ended up putting a skim coat over the major affected areas and sanded it all to shape. I was still concerned that the rest of the vinyl was easy to crack just by pressing my finer into - not wanting to fibreglass I had this crazy idea of sanding (for adhesion) and them applying POR-15. POR-15 sets rock hard so I applied 4 coats, sanding every 2 coats. After the last coat I sanded for a nice flat finish and then applied Texture bumper paint which has given me a light sheen textured finish without the 'high gloss' - pretty happy with the outcome - total cost $55.00!!
  3. Looking for the 432 style grille - anyone? Cheers, Rev
  4. Awesome Gordo - so glad you are doing this - fantastic effort
  5. placing another set of orders this week - so if you're keen please PM me so we can organise it. Cheers, Rev
  6. an additional project - there's a difference! another doesn't mean forfeiting the other!
  7. I'm still considering what I'll use Gav - I'm a bit worried about the expandafoam and wondered if I shouldn't just use Resin or Sikalex to fill the cracks. It wasn't a huge pain to pull it out so if I trial this and it lasts me a couple of years, it's still worth a go.
  8. After enough hassle of poorly fitting carpet I decided to make a fresh template and do my own - Took some time but fits better than anything I could get off the shelf! going to do the same with the fronts. Also removed the dash and have begun to do my own resto. I've taken all the cracks as deep as possible, ready to be filled. I'd sanded the top passenger side and played with some application techniques to see what the finish might look like - pretty pleased with the outcome.
  9. use a hair dryer on the panel and get it really warm and then flex it out, bottom first - The only way to get them in and out properly! Rev
  10. Got some more done today thank you to the Queen! Happy Birthday!
  11. That's great work Jeff - Even though you found a little more rust than you'd hoped at least you get the chance to delve a little deeper and achieve a quality build. Well done! Rev.
  12. I like it - g enhances the classic look. How easy were they to attach? I have to put mine on soon. Cheers, Rev
  13. Update on interior: Got passenger seat finished and have started with interior. I'd plastic welded the multiple cracks in the rear garnishes, then upholstered it in the pressed vinyl - with plenty of heat and high tack spray glue it turned out amazing.
  14. I think I have gotten back to all interested parties. There will be another order placed in 2 weeks, so if your keen let me know. They can make any custom covers/colours to suit whatever you have in your Zed. Cheers, Rev
  15. Happened to me also Gav when I was sending PM's for the BBQ we had a while back?
  16. Interesting thing I found out yesterday is that the 260Z Coupe door cards I have fit the series 1 240Z perfectly (obviously holes are in a different place) but with some very light mods they will work fine. I'm going to see how I can take some moulds from these and see if i can't make something local. I painted the back of the cards with POR15 which has given them some real added strength and should stop further warping and deterioration.
  17. 1 seat done and dusted - so pleased with the result! My upholsterer can do any model of seats for a fraction of the cost - let me know if you need something in our next order!
  18. Don't fear Chris - I've found a new method of attachment that isn't invasive yet still a solid mount - you could take it off in 5 years time and never see where it has been!
  19. Well it's time for an update - things have moved a little slowly due to lack of funds, due to lack of work! With some new work comes the opportunity to pick up the pace a little. Received my new spoiler thanks to a member from Sydney, it's the PU spoiler in the exact profile I was looking for, it's all ready for me to put some color on! Also played around with my rear spoiler. They never seem to sit flush so I covered the bottom of the hatch with masking tape and then nice shiny duck tape so that I could do a try fit of the spoiler and then use it as a mould to push filler into the gaps. I left it to dry and it then peeled off beautiful smooth and only required minimal sanding. Now if fits up perfectly with no gaps and will be easy to seal to avoid any water getting between the spoiler and the hatch. Also received all of my new upholstery which was custom made for the Alfa GTV seats, diamond stitched interior with diamond stitched inserts for the door cards and diamond stitched centres for the seats. The seats are a freaking heap of work to install properly but once finished is going to look awesome - I'd say this will be the best interior i've done! - Plans are to have the interior properly fitted within the next few weeks and then suspension. I just picked up a set of Tokiko adjustable struts and need to save for some springs and a complete bushing kit. At this stage I'm aiming for an August finish.
  20. Anyone? I'm busting to put my new upholstery on!
