Great that Clive cams gave you some good info but here's some more for you. It gives you an idea re powerband revs, compression etc. Have a look and see where most of your driving rev-range will be. You are getting new pistons, wouldn't flat tops bring the comp up enough anyway? http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,14822.0.html I also have L28 n42/n42 and IIRC the comp is low at around 8:5. I'll soon be rebuilding with flat tops. When I have a minute I'll send you the dynograph of before & after with the triple carbs & light flywheel etc.

Your intentions for your zed sounds the same as mine and my engine guy told me not to go too light and waste money on a performance lightened flywheel for the street. So I had a stock 240z lightened, balanced and IIRC it was under $100 exchange. I am running mild cam with triple carbs. Feels good. When I was at the workshop he showed me a performance flywheel like the one pictured below. It came out of a track car because the owner deemed it too light even for the track and went back to a lightened stock flywheel. Just another thing to consider, ask the US sellers to confirm if the 45dcoe they supply is the 152G. Not sure if it's scare tactics but the aussie sellers mentions the difference here: http://www.weberperformance.com.au/product_info.php?cPath=1_9&products_id=1 Also, if the US seller is using UPS/FEDEX there will be no escaping GST etc(invoice will be over AU$1k). IMO, the savings would have to be $200+ for me to get them from the US.

Also worth mentioning that Ben @ OTOMOTO is a Kameari dealer so even if the stuff is not on his website I am sure he could get it in for you. I didn't know this before otherwise I would have asked him first.

& @ Gav, RHD are very easy to deal with and the prices seem ok but I must warn you that their displayed exchange rate and paypal's exchange rate are planets apart. The shipping for the intake kit and fuel rail IIRC was around $110 and less than a week. Here's another pic:

I was wary of reading alot of people having problems (even for years!) of trying to get the 2nd hand set of triples they picked up for a bargain, then ended up spending more than what it would cost new to get them sorted and tuned. I did want to go Japanese with mikuni/OER but chose the webers for local technical support/parts availability. And they sound just as good , could not be happier. Love the colour on the Bingo 432, go for it I say. But really, any original Datsun colour is just as good. As for a 432 replica, unless you have a s20 motor IMO i don't think it would be a good idea to put the 432 badges on it, especially if you are retaining the 260z tailights. Admittedly, for me I have double standards for this sort of thing. Eg, I don't mind seeing a L-powered Hako or Kenmeri with GTR badges (I'd be happy just to see one in the flesh!) but I cringe when I see GTR badges on a R32/33/34 fake GTR's. Also don't mind "replica" GT falcons, GTS Monaro's and GTR/SS/SLR Torana's. @Gav, I do have a soft spot for the XA falcons but that gold one you posted doesn't look period to me at all. The interior colour and looks to be 17" wheels detract IMO. Even on my zed I kinda regret going for 16 inch wheels instead of 15". My 2c.

Postponement suits me-remember the clutch issues I had during the Old Pac run? It looks like it's the rear main seal leaking causing the clutch to bind . So my Zeds off the road for a little bit. Not sure rebuild or LS1.

Lol Mick, didn't know you were the shit-stirring type No Zed deserves this. The only time I would think this type of travesty is justified is when the end result is better than the donor car-such as a Ford Probe or any Hyundai.
