  1. Hi Weldy, welcome and if you have been lurking around you know we love to see photos......a two seater in green....what's the plan?
  2. This one may still be for sale. http://www.tradeuniquecars.com.au/detail/cars/unique-cars/datsun/260z/42106
  3. Thanks, that was the "Story"......the yellow one was cheap he seems on the money for the blue one, maybe even little on the cheap side. There was some one looking for a 2 seater at that price, I think?
  4. These ones have been on the net for years...wonder what the go is with them? Looks like there is a paddock full of Zeds http://www.tradeuniquecars.com.au/detail/cars/unique-cars/datsun/260z/42104 http://www.tradeuniquecars.com.au/detail/cars/unique-cars/datsun/260z/42106
  5. Have asked the guy you bought it off if he has any info? Brand/Operating instructions? May be you have to disarm it again between ignition switches. How frustrating, so close to a start. I would be tempered to hot wire it
  6. Biggest issue with alarms is that they are designed not to be easily bypassed and can be quite clever how they do things. But if you have the remote and it "beeps" may be the problem is not the alarm and you do not have a spark anyway. Sounds like you are having fun, first no fuel then no spark....the only two things you need to make it run!
  7. I always knew it as "Baby pooh yellow" and had a couple 1600's in that colour
  8. There was a "Concourse" quality one for sale a few weeks ago in a auto for under 10k but its gone. Here is one that looks Ok except for the panel damage http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/gorokan/cars-vans-utes/nissan-280zx-coupe-83-5-speed-manual-rare-collectors-item/1066375637
  9. May be blocked up stream. That would cause a air lock. Maybe take off outlet to pump and see if you can feel any pressure when you crank or fuel pumping out.
  10. I am sure I saw this guy towing a Rolls Royce when I pulled up at a Caltex Garage in Elanora (Gold Coast) only a week or two ago. Amazing if its the same guy The Zed looks to be in excellent condition, not too much resto required by the looks of it.
  11. This would be the Coupe...you can see why it did not go too far: http://www.datsun.org/fairlady/silvia.htm
  12. As provided by dat2kman ...... many thanks Really amazing how the Zed took off compared to the roadster. The numbers did slow a little when the 260 came out
  13. As provided by dat2kman ...... many thanks - Cover page and page relating to rim sizes, this is for 1969 to 1976 models. - USA 280Z (not ZX) 1977 to 1978 had 15" diameters - The handwritten "not for PRC" relates to PRC rules for Australian rally (dirt) cars. - The diagram shows the offset and track changes. - This document was supplied by Nissan to be approved by the JAF, it is on this that many can fit the much wider rims. - The allowance of 1" larger diameters to 15" is a great help, as tyre choice in 14" is lacking.
  14. If you can be bothered email them to me and I can resize and post (tmamo at live dot com dot au)
  15. Just spoke with the guy that did my mod plates: "The rules are now national, not state by state anymore. You can increase the wheel centres (across the car) by 25mm and wheel (rim not tyre) by 25mm" So this means you need to spread the width inward as well as outward to keep them legal. That become a challenge if you want it "Legal". dat2kman.....where do we find the factory documentation?
  16. You had to do a mod plate for a gearbox change, which gearbox did you fit? Obviously needed modifying to fit? I will have to check with my mod plate guy too
  17. Is that an absolute? I wonder if you can you get a engineers certificate to get approval?
  18. Well if we are going to show all the GREEN Zeds with boob jobs
  19. I bought a set of mags when I didn't even have a Zed or a plan to buy one.....there on it now
  20. 2 Seater project car...there are a few guys after one of these? http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/booragoon/other-automotive/1974-datsun-260z-coupe/1066758583
  21. Hi, welcome aboard. Maybe post a photo of it if you have one and time and location of sale.
  22. Unbelievable circumstances, I would not be surprised if you never hear from them
  23. Dam nice Zed and the photo shoot looks great, interesting BLOG.
  24. If you want a cheaper more readily available box a Australian built Datsun Bluebird box fits straight in. Has a nicer gear changing mechanism but you should check you would like the gear ratios. There is a page somewhere that has it, may be the one below but I cannot log on. http://www.ozdat.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6393
