have you considered a ls1 holden v8 dearer to buy though they are getting cheaper with more becoming avaliable from wrecked commodores can get with 6 speed manual more hp in std trim than toyota v8 and if you want more hp huge aftermarket supply of parts and tuning just idea to consider i am biased though as i have fitted ls1 to my 240z

trick i used when sectioning my 240z struts to lower car was to use piece of exhuast tube cut to fill space between shorter strut and length of strut housing was recomended to me by engineer works fine mick

i sectioned my struts 50 mm and used my front inserts in rear struts and got some vw rabbit front strut inserts for front they are 75 mm shorter so i made up 25 mm spacer from 40 mm exhaust pipe too adjust to suit the 50 mm sectioning got brand new vw rabbit bilstein inserts for front from usa for less than a third of what local bilstein guy wanted i also fitted adjustable camber plates from arizona z car all round which with twin 2.5" exhaust made car bit lower than i wanted with 15" wheels so ended up fitting 17 " wheels very happy now

hi dont know of anyone in victoria doing ls1 conversion everyone seems to say its not possible under victorian law saying 4.5 ltr v8 is biggest allowed in vic But that said i have done conversion in tasmania into 240z and know of 260z in south australia who has started conversion and has talked to engineer there plus another 240z in new south wales which has road authority approval and currently installing ls1 If you need and help or advice on the problems involved in ls1 conversion drop me a pvt happy to help anyway i can having already done it can short cut lot problems for you mick

just an idea if disc your using is just few mill smaller in center like the 4mm mentioned you could go the way i did and machine hub down to match the discs your using so when you go to change discs next time just buy replacement discs and they slide on did that with my conversion But i went with falcon discs and had to make new mounts to allow for bigger disc mick

Well just my view but ive found every club i have been involved with be it car, swim, surf or even maritial art club very few of them will open there arms to you most are very clicky and you need push your way in and get involved in club before they will really talk to But if you take the time to get involved most clubs can be very rewarding and great place to make friends if your prepared to get involved I still have some great friends from car clubs and other clubs but remeber alot people get called a offical and become pompus idiots mick

Silvia - s13 discs. Do they fit 260z?
zed240au replied to Jospef's topic in Brakes / Drivetrain Components
will check with guy i bought my discs off see if he can still buy the blanks and what the part number is was couple years ago i got my second set but as u say drilling 5 hole discs is not the best option mick -
yeah it bolted to straight to master booster only difference was that the front and rear lines where reversed still mounted underneath as im using braided lines didnt worry me Pbr part number is jb1419 im using it with hilux 4x4 vent calipers the later model ones with falcon discs and mazda 929 rear discs and calipers works very good will lock but very good feel pzg302 build those leg muscles up when i got one of my rx4 rally cars was fitted with balance bar and no booster i hated it yeah it worked but you had to to stomp on them like nothing else mush nicer with a booster mick

lurch just idea but when i did my brake conversion used falcon discs and hilux 4 spot calipers bought falcon blank un drilled discs and machined hubs down 5mm to allow discs to slide on that way when i change discs just slip on dont need to machine discs each time as well as u just slip disc on and use holes in hub as guide to drill holes in disc might help mick -
i got 1" patrol master cyliner brand new pbr from local parts store for $165 repco quoted $245 mick

Well i really enjoy motorkhanas myself and there really are some fun and quick ones to choose from lot more skill to it than it looks too can give good balance to outright speed events make it more a skill vs outright speed thing mick
-
Had good day up at lake barrington the motorkana was good Jason street in his r33 gtr was was good to watch he sure puts on a show The challenge is a great weekend 3 days of hillclimbs and motorkanas plus day at symons for $700 entry fee and modified cars allowed no targa restrictions on must have orginal engine Know ill be running again next year friend did the mg nationals in brisbane hired trailer in melbourne and towed mg up so much cheaper than taking trailer on the spirit doubt i could do the 4 rounds in melbourne but might manage one mick
-
you certianly know your pics yeah its the lake barrington hillclimb during classic challenge zed spoiler made all the difference was running well up the placing till broke spoiler on tip stage all went to beep after that diff died ( should have stuck with the 4.4 diff instead of upping it to a 4.8 ) next day at symons and then again on the monday lol had to drag the zed out of the shed to finish the event thought didnt clasifly as a finisher using two cars But we did win the event the following year in the rx4 Off to check out lake barrington hillclimb tomorrow as part of the challenge just didnt manage to get the zed sorted for the event so ill ride the zx10r up and check it out Sorry couldnt help you fight the wankel arm last weekend was sleeping after night shift and if i had come would have bought the rx4 so not much support got the pics thanks looking forward to seeing the orginals dont have many of the yellow rx4 before it meet its untimley death Would luv to do some of the mainland series too so close with the zed now got brakes sorted just few more issues to sort out But i really like the new engine so much grunt if i didnt have ears the smile would go right round my head the other day when i opened it up on the highway mick

-
well shouldnt it be who is from the state with the best driving roads in australia lol mick

think you will find most steel flares are made to suit car so really need to find a panel beater who will make you a set was a guy selling set 944 porsche rear guards suggesting they could be placed on 240z but when i looked further at them would need to run flare into door as well so lot of work would look great though mick
