GOING PRICE FOR HILUX BRAKE CALIPERS???
zed240au replied to Hunter's topic in Brakes / Drivetrain Components
last set i got from wrecker in sa toyo wreck or something 4wd wrecker specialising in toyota 4wd like that they where like new with good pads $150 for the pair plus $40 freight and that was 8 years ago now lol cant see why they should be any dearer now got good after market pads for them $400 first set carbon pads but was way to hard on falcon discs the discs didnt last 2000 km so gone for hardie ferodo ones now should last longer if your gonna do any club days at symons you will need better than standard pads hunter mick -
do know of 240z with flares and front and rear spoilers in metalic red here and hot l28 here in devonport guy has been trying to sell on and off for while now wants around $12,000 if its still as good as last time i saw it id say its worth it id give lot thought to the vh45 install not sure how robstar is going with his but still looks lot work to me can help you with LS1 chev and 6 speed conversion 300 kw and lots after market gear to be had if u want more hp lot easier way to get a injected v8 into a zed but thats my view let me know if you want to follow up local 240z by the way bluerat still have the rotary bug just put rx4 back in shed (it usually sits under a gum tree till next race meet the rx4 that is) with zed lol but the zed is my first love had it for over 20 years now keep saying ill sell the rotary when i get the zed back on road but the closer it gets the harder it is to part with the old chook cooker lol mick

Well welcome to the role Hunter Mick

Arizona Z Car - Rear Brake Handbrake Redesign
zed240au replied to Woza01's topic in Brakes / Drivetrain Components

i have a 350 chev install kit made up as per the jags that run install book if you want one be cheaper than castlemaine rod shop kit having run with nissan v8 install i was happy with performance and handling but i should have set motor further back as per jags that run book with my ls1 install engine is set back much better will give update on how it handles shortly soon as i get my first real drive next weekend exhaust going on this week
-
well having researched the more common v8 install i have found most off set engine 25mm to one side mainly to make steering clearance easier the most common mounting kit for 350 chevs jags that run offsets engine 25 mm the kit i bought for my ls1 does the same both kits have been built by engineers so i dont see any reason to worry about this though with my ls1 it would have been way easier to get exhaust in if the offset went to left instead of right but would have to rebuild the whole kit to change it so i left it the way it is with the jags that run can see no reason why you couldnt swap the widee spacers to left instead right mick

well finally got car to stage of fitting exhaust booked it in and drove it to exhaust shop yesterday about 5 minute drive first time out of driveway running straight out of extractors its loud blowing flames and it was raining too so i was taking it easy lol well trying too anyway tacho not hooked up and no speedo it lights up rear tyres so much easier than the old engine mate is gonna get wheel alignment done while im away at work this week as i have fitted adjustable arms and camber plates all around so camber and castor is all out cant wait to go for decent drive next weekend mick
-
yeah it got along reasonably quickly raced against it one weekend but many years ago now know it was quicker than my car at the time wasnt finished off that well sort just thrown together but went well mick

taken way too long had a few problems plus im working away but finally fired engine up today been two months since i first tried to start it wouldnt start checked everything everything checkd out sent computer back to be checked that vats turned off finally got it back yesterday no change ended up changing injectors and away it went damn it sounds good been changing engine for 3 years (lots extra mods ended up happening along the way to cope with new hp) so sweet to hear it run now to finish it off exhaust would be good to start with its so loud straight out of extractors cant wait to drive it mick

cant tell u on 280zx but can tell u we fitted my old 240z front spoiler to my rx4 rally car only had to cut bottom of guards to mount spoiler looked pretty trick till the driver (me) took wide line at motorkhana and went into the scrub kinda busted it so poor rx4 back to standard front end mick

hi hunter great to see another tasmanian on the site i know theres another guy on here from tassie hopefully if we can get a few we can meet up for cruise or club day im from devonport currently working at savage river i went with cusco strut braces front and rear can buy off ebay about $250 each very nice gear nice easy fit if you have standard strut mount but ive changed to adjustable camber plates so modified mounts to suit also wanted strut brace nice and low to allow for different air intake im wanting to fit once engine is up and running mick
