    Bonnet

its a fibreglass one so they are not really good for road cars as they crack if you use the std bonnet hindge (spring) setup. ( i know from exp) Ash

  12. 180sx (sr20det) vented front rotor with late model hilux calipers on front and r31 solid on rear for my big hp L series car 180sx vented rotor with rx7 (series 4 i think) caliper (and here is the real secret) Hawk blue/black pads front and r32 skyline solid rotors with rx7 rear on rear also with hawk pads for my RB25det racecar (may have to go bigger in the future but never had brake fade with my l series with same HP!) the second option requires lots of mods to put the calipers on but the first option only requires a little bit of grinding, cutting and welding Ash
  13. craig yours would have been a 2+2 one so they arent worth anything if its a 2 seater 260 or 240 I would think $100 up depending on chrome and straightness. as it costs a few hundred to get a bumper re chromed I think a nice one would have to be worth in the 2-300 mark?? Aus dollars that is Ash
  14. Definatly want the sump have PM'ed you Thanks Ash
  15. r33 4 pot definatly doesnt fit the zed. Got a set with my r33 half cut and tried and its miles off Ash

  19. Hi All Just ran into someone who went to school with Gav. He works at Repco moorabbin on warrigal road. Anyways his name is Scott and he gave me good prices on some filters and oil and stuff. never thought id reccommend repco lol Ash
  20. Yer have to agree with lurch the l series is super easy to work on. I definatly wouldnt shim the towers to take op the chain slack as its more work than replacing the chain and tensioner assembly. Also its not that expensive to get a new chain and tensioners (around $90) Ash
  21. The ones on ebay are aparently for bumb stear. I want the bushes that replace the rubber and steel bush on the lower control arm. Thanks for tring though Ash
  22. Just a long shot but how different are the pistons in the RB 25/26/30 motors cause if you could use a forged piston(aftermarket as they are not forged std) from them it would probably be a bit cheaper?? Ash
  23. na no luck yet? Ash
  24. I could go on for hours about racing zeds but Ill be brief (sort of) In the Vic state series you car run in Marquesports or sports sedan classes. with a $15,000 car (thats actually close to what I paid for my 240z race car) you would have been competative in marquesports about 10yrs ago . Now its all very highly modified cars. You need to be doing under 1:41 at the island and around 1:14 at Sandown to be in with a chance and a zed to marquesports regs wont do that. On the sports sedan side I havent looked into it to much but the rules changed this year and not zeds can run but it would cost heaps to get a zed up to those specs. After yrs of racing in marquesports I decieded I would put a bigger motor in my 240z and enter as an invited car under 2A sportscar rules. even with the 2A rule freedom I cannot afford to get down to the lap times the really quick Marqusportscars are doing. So If basically if you want to run in state series you wont win in a zed (at least not in Victroria ) so you have got to be doing it for fun (which is hopfully the path I am going down) and cause you love zeds. On the go kart front I wouldn't bother. I had a stint in karts a few yrs ago and its got really pricy for your licence (more than circuit racing cams) and track fees and the racing is really rough. The other option could be to build or buy a historic zed race car which can be fairly competative. In 2002 I ran a whole season (6 rounds) and spent around $9,000.00 this included and engine refresh, second hand slicks, entry, accomidation etc etc this was doing all the work on the car incluing engine rebuild myself as it would probably cost another few grand if I paid someone else to do it. Ash
  25. Hi all does anyone know were to get the offset lower control arm bushes to suit the zed? Or anyone with rose jointed lower control arms they want to sell? Thanks Ash
