are you saying the mirrors are availible from nissan? any idea how much if they are? i really shoulda called them or something
-
yeah agreed, just for that few grand more you get a fair few more grand again worth of stuff, still slowly trying to chase up orginal door skins for her but alot of the time they are late 260z doors which apparently are designed so they cant fly open in a crash...where as the ones on my car can  hehe, which makes me wonder if there are 3 sorts of doors or just 2 or ? but anyway
-
yeah my advice would be to save up and buy a really nice one that someone else has wasted the money on as all the little things do add up and even if you think u'll have time the reality is you probably won't end up having it... i probably paid a bit more for my car than it was worth (5g, which still i'd say is pretty resonable when compared to other cars of the same kinda price and i was in a rush for a car, i probably shoulda bought a crappy daily driver and saved up and bought something like sulio's one) unless i wanted to make it orginal again, which i dont really plan on doing but am keeping the parts just incase. i'm still considering possibly selling my car to buy a crapper one so i can save up for a real beauty but i'm kinda attatched to it...

240z lights sure do look nice...if only 260z ones did
-
i reakon the blue is nicest out of those 3, and personally i prefer the darker silvers that orangey gold one is nice as, probably just because the wheels finish it off so nicely. i'm guessing they dont come in 4 stud? just since both that one and that twin turbo blue one (i think from memory) have them and both have 5 stud hubs
-
interesting little air intake bits on the bonnet! i reakon you should get some classic looking seats and seal off the rear window to finish the look
-
wow they are cool, i think i'm giong to print them out really small or mayb just a5 and have a whole series of them, good distraction i reakon hehe

yeah i know i want coilovers, just dont want to spend that sort of money atm, so i just bought some king springs off nacks along with his newly regassed koni rears, so all i really need now is some koni 86-1811, which i think are the ones that are used on the front of both 240z's and 260z's just the 260z's need the gland nuts changed or something. do people think i should try to change the shocks myself at home? i'm just worried that it will leave my car unusable due to not being able to do something. i think i remember something somewhere saying to put in some of the springs you dont need spring compressors to put in some springs because they are so short...is that the case with low king springs? my dad keeps telling me its easy to do this and that but is to busy to actully commit to helping me there's something wrong with my stearing which is my main concern atm, the people at top performace said i should give the 1600 workshop a try as its fairly local, does anyone else have a place they'd recommend? speed technology? as i think i'm going to get the adjustable whiteline sway bars from there at some stage does anyone have some of those koni 1811 shocks by anychance that they want to sell?

that stripe really isnt that nice looking, to skinny or something. that stock colour blue is quite nice, but i still prefer the darker ones, i still havn't seen a blue that compares to the mazda 6 blue, some of the bmw ones are very nice but they look to classy...if thats possible? i think the specks in it are smaller when its time for me to respray my car i know its going to be a very tuff choice, as the greens are nice and classic where as blue is more sporty. if your liking that lighter stock green colour then i think that ford light green is nice, it sure was their colour of last year...there was a z at zworx when i was down there that had just been done in it and it looked very nice (but i hope to never have ANY ford bits on my car hehe, even though its based on nothing)

the rb30zed in nsw has a strut brace that once it bolts onto the struts it bends and connects to below the back side windows so the belts can go straight back i assume. heres the link http://www.classiczcars.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=14634&cat=500&ppuser=1957

i only have 11.5volts at the battery until i'm reving over 2000rpm  hence my questions about upgrading the alternater... i need to fix up the ground connector on my battery, it often doesn't make a connection and screws all the power in my car, not good while i'm driving! make the lights stobe though which freaks out oncoming cars!

i was just looking through the google image seach results for 240zg and the c110 skyline pic was one of them i've only seen the link to that white 240z before...i want black fender mirrors!!! cheap hehe
-
just came across these, the skyline ones are both pretty nice, if only the 240zg was more side on!
-
thanks for that, as u can see i have no idea...so y not get the struts sectioned at hte same tiem? or these dont require engineers?
-
yep you have way to much time on your hands so do those coilovers basically bolt straight in since they are made for the zed? coz ride height adjustment would be cool, are they externally adjustable? what other advantages do they have for 3 times the price of normal shocks, besides the fact you can choose the spring rates easily?
-
hehe yeah i know which ones you went for, let me know how much you'd want for your koni red's if you do decide to change over as it might influence my decision... how do you adjust the the sway bars? i guess the adjustment would b on some part of it you can see so pretty easy huh? why would it be cheaper for me? i have a 260z 2 seater also...
-
where's a good place to get a polyureathane bush kit from? also thicker/(adjustable?) sway bars? would this be a worthwhile thing to change "while i'm at it"? or its easy enough to later? i'd like to add strut tower braces but its easy enough to do that later on...although it is tempting to buy some of those carbon fibre ones sulio was selling, off ebay, but i'd really like some of the cusco ones, just i can't seem to find them for sale anywhere, i did see them on yahoo japan ages ago but i can't find them anymore i really need/want to get this done soon and i have the money sitting there, so the only other question is should i get koni red's ~$900 after being modified to suit 260z's, with king springs ~$100 second hand or tokico illuminas ~$700 and mayb pay the bit more (~$150-200 and get them with the tokico 280z springs...surely they must of looked into the issues of having one set of springs progressive and the other linear? or would it be better to just use king springs? the people at koni didn't seem to have any good selling point of their shocks over tokicos besides the fact they can be rebuilt, but my thought is in 300,000kms time i might want to get the struts sectioned etc so i dont really care about this "selling point", particually for $80 per shock! and think it'd be of more use to be able to adjust the shocks externally, so if i want them harder for driving more excitiablly i dont have to remove them! is there anything else i need to buy/replace at the same time? like random rubber bits? i'm not going to buy rims anytime to soon now so i'm happy to spend a bit extra for something better...
-
hehe yeah, kmart actully carried them for awhile but only have the 1:24 ones now, and only had the 1:18 scale one of an fc the problem with the anime shops is they seem to like their markup
-
have you seen/got the one of the c110 skyline? it doesn't have a huge stupid kit on it so looks alot better, i was going to get it but am trying to only collect 1:18 scale models...so far i've only bought a 240zg hehe, but its sitting next to an etype convertable atm and merc 300sl, i want an ae86 and r32 to go with them, if only the initial d ones were easier to find in 1:18 as they are nice for their price
-
i wouldn't say the stoker is i waste of money, i think its the best option to do with an L series (since we're not in america), the only issue i have with it is since you've already done basically everything you can do to it, what can you waste your money on after it? where as with an engine swap you can spend the same sort of money initially and then go from there if only the supercharger kits for 1uzfe's were cheaper...
-
the person i bought mine off was selling it to get the sort len brennan sells, but i was having a hard time deciding out of the two different ones too sulio i think the sort i have is alot cleaner looking, and when you look at the complete car it looks nicer, but if your looking just at the spoilers the one with ducts looks nicer the style i have sure does look nice on the gnose, makes me want to get one of them! (but how shattered would you be if you went into the back of someone, but i guess you would be anyway huh) that car looks to have the same mirrors as mine but on both sides...
-
i believe the 1uzfe is aluminium, it also has dual DOHC (dohc's on both sides of the v) or something like that and 32 values. in the like only picture of it in a zed on the net it sure looks nice, and so does this car for an mx5 http://www.bulletcars.com/v8_super_cars/ssroadster.php
-
how much did you work out a 1uzfe conversion would cost? i guess the good thing about that motor is you ever wanted more power you can get a bolt on supercharger kit i was thinking of doing this engine at one stage buy my mates with soarers all say the 1jz is better for its money (seems to be alot better than rb25's too, some even say rb26's), and it keeps it a straight 6 which i'd like to do, but then the bullet ss people must be onto something too... where'd you hear the l28 stroker? i wanna hear one! the main plus i can see with this engine is stock insurance basically, and no need to get engineers cert...well i guess there is if u wanna do things properally but ?
-
hmmmm sounds like a weird issue gav! sure would b kinda scary...mine would go to high beams fine, just the driving lights were wired in properally, so they could only turn on if high beams were on, but since my car doesn't have high beams anymore it isn't activating the relay when i was driving at night with my screen on it used to be hard for my eyes to adjust so i could see the road, so i'd drive with it off most of the time, but now the headlights are bright enough to not need to bother just needing to upload these pics to post on hybridz, i dont have an ftp program atm...
