man thats sexy, i was thinking of 350z fairlady badges as you can get them (copies i'm guessing) for like $30 or something but these look heaps nicer and the same sorta price, i always thought they'd be heaps more...and i guess they are for metal ones. does STAV (the member with an orange 2+2) have some metal badges? i think i just met one of his mates, but he didn't say if his friedns was a 2+2 or 2 seater...just it was orange with 17"s but yeah, is it just me or does everyone one want flares and these badges? coz i know i do! dam u sulio! how are you going to stick them on?

i went in my cousins dc5 type r today and dam they are comfy seats, i think they are slightly different to yours but same thing really, so hopefully he writes off his car and sells them to me! i never realised there was actully a noticable difference when "vtec kicked in yo"

thats going to look nice, i reakon you should take the verticle bits off your bumpers to make it look cleaner and meaner, and then post some really large pics (1440 X 900 atleast) of your car in a nice location, i need a new background if you can get the old school fairlady badges copied i'd be interested in a set as they look nice, i was thinking of just getting the 350z ones off ebay for the sides of my car, if your thinking of getting the carbon mirrors they might go nicely, and then if i got that rear spoiler i was thinking of sanding that flat bit so its curved like the rest of it and having no badge, but it is cool having people walk past your car then come back after reading the badge and going "IS THIS A DATSUN?!?!" hehe

yeah i'm liking the dark green on my car, would like it to be darker still but i'll see what happens when its time for a respray as i like the mazda 6 blue also... one of my mates uncles just restored a 240z and sprayed it that ford orange colour thats on the BA's and he says it looks mad, and it is a nice colour but i havn't seen it yet...i think the lambo orange colour would be interesting but it might make it look cheap and ricey because its so sparkly

yeah i'm sure the 180 i saw that one time had r32 lights in it, but yeah it seems kinda pointless when there's those type x ones (i never knew the name but knew they were on the newer 180's) yeah i'm unsure on the balsa, it was suggest to me as i want the surfaces to be flat anyway, its nothing structural, basically the lights will b made up of 4 parts, the front of each seperate light and the rear of each, but yeah i'm going to make sure the panel looks decent before i cut into the panel behind it...it'd b nice to get it laid outta carbon fibre but doesn't seem worth the effort atm, just thought i'd post wat i'd done so far in my few spare days since i didnt have many extra shifts this week...if the balsa version does look crap i might take it to the workshop at uni and see if they can help me make an inverse mold and lay carbon fibre :twisted: i was thinking of painting the chrome bit around the 260z lights black like on on3go's car, but :S if this panel doesn't work out i'll tint the spare lenses i now have to just leave silver rings...but i have heard bad insurance stories regarding tinted lenses, 240z lights might be the go, i'll wait to see how this goes, i think it should work that photoshoped pic only has the lenses photoshoped in, the panel itself is fitted to the car no prob, just needs the bit behind it cut so the lense part will fit in so i dont think it will be to much more work to fix it to the steel panel, and i've taken another 2 more months off uni and work well hopefully not work... is this the car you were talking about sulio? in some pics its carbon fibre, but if i had one bit carbon fibre i'd want the flares bonnet and spoilers to be too hehe

i reakon they are sexy, i was thinking of getting them and then seeing them on this car confirmed that they looked cool (there's a yellow one on classiczcars that has them also) i was wanting to get ones that side on had a really triangular profile, but i'm pretty sure i want to get fender mirrors coz its different, but then these make the car look very sleek and long which is sweet and they can be mounted in the stock spot, i personally perfer them alot more to the ones you currently have...

yeah, is that a bad thing? hehe a few of my mates have said that too, that the lights look a bit like those 180sx ones, i've seen one 180sx in boxhill (naturally) with r32 lights, on a side topic 180's sure look like newer 240's...i like the angle around the numberplate, otherwise i woudln't have bothered doing it though hehe, would look nice with an exhuast setup similar to the sr240z car below it too

yeah thats wat i was thinking, they aren't that special anyway, guess to some degree may as well pay more and get custom 3 peice...if i did get them i'd want them to be black...

more pics...i woulda of liked to do r34 lights but besides probably costing way to much they really are huge, it was hard enough to make these fit, but i guess it depends on how much ur happy cutting out of your car, old school skyling lights would also be quite cool, specially since it has the gold trim...

well since one of the reasons for wanting (not minding) a 260z over a 240z was so i could play with the tail lights (as 240z ones are that sexy they dont need any improvement...but 260z ones leave something to be desired) i've been looking for a set of skyline rear lights to fabricate in, i was going to get a set of r33 ones and then put the indicator and reverse light up around the edge of the panel, mazerati style, but then i came across some 4 door series 2 ones, which i had never really seen before and decided to give them a shot, i was thinking of doing r32 lights as its already been done but these have the indicator and reverse light in the bit between the lights and that bits a nicer shape, plus they stick out ferrari style :twisted: so i thought it'd b more interesting...and many thanks to sulio as i have his old lights in my car while i play around with my panel. i now pretty much have it all ready to be glued all together properally and make it look pretty...which hopefully isn't the longest part, but either way it wont happen for awhile due to work around christmas. i'm just going to use balsa wood so i dont have to spend ages making fibreglass flat and i think it should do the job alright, but if you think this is a bad idea please let me know! i'm going to have to cut the panel behind the rear lights in order to fit the lights in as i can't cut them any smaller (they are way smaller than they used to be), how should i do this? just a hack saw? and also are the holes on 240z's and some 260z's larger? as sulio i can't see from images how 240z lights would fit through the holes in my 260z, is this one of the things thats different from the early 260's to the later ones? or are my eyes playing tricks on me? if it is larger can someone tell me the width of the hole? i dont really want to cut into my car if i'm going to sell it soon, but if i do cut into it then i'll cut the fenders and get the flares, i'll wait to see how these panels turn out, please excuse the dodgy photoshop but i couldnt be bothered doing it better!

wheels i'm thinking i might get some wheels off yahoo japan, i think these should come to around $1200, my question is how can you tell if they are real 3 peice? and also do these ones have to much of a negative offset? also does anyone get what they are talking about? hehe, are they saying the rubber on one is scraped bad but doesn't leak...coz thats what i think they must be but ?

if you do the black front spoiler do the black rear spoiler too to keep it balanced

i'd go with the red, black would look alright but i think there's to much of a difference and red would make it more obvious so lower and cooler looking, you could always do like what the guy with the green one in sydney has done wtih the black line around the bottom of the spoiler. to photoshop the black spoiler the easiest way it to just desaturate it and then change the brightness, but then you dont get the coloured reflections...but this works well for matt black hmmm the black looks more racey now that i look at them side by side more...i needa get mine painted properally :oops:

just outta curiousity nate, y does a v8 look like the best swap for you atm? i do remember you saying you didn't want a turbo...i've got a mate who was putting a 1uzfe into an mgb which i'm pretty sure he's about to give up on and buy a gtir or put an sr20 into his mgb instead...i think he got his engine for around 2g, but i'm not sure if it was a halfcut or what...

yeah i work at northland normally, but not everday, i'm just a casual...i really needa work somewhere closer, today when i just got home i realised i'd left with a set of keys so had to go back to return them :oops: good waste of an hour, its not even an exciting drive! thats sad that u have certain spots when you change lanes hehe, i guess i do on my way home if its peak hour, but i try to find as many different ways to get places so it aint as boring, have about 7 different ways to my gf's place that all take close to the same time hehe i find it weird even driving basically any car after being so used to the zed now, thanks for the compliments on the car, but yeah, u can't see the rust from afar hehe. they sound like some massive wheels, i needa polish my rims, but then i needa do alot of things but never get around to it :roll:

look around http://www.mp3car.com, there's numerous installs of various bits in various places. you can get/make an infrared retransmitter so there's a pickup on one side of your glove box and a transmitter that sits just infront of the pickup on the headunit so the remote would work with the door closed. i thought i may as well make the most of the one advantage i see in a 260z dash over a 240z dash, the square opening, so i've bought myself another centre console and the bit around the heater controls and am looking into which screen to buy from where atm to sit in there. i was thinking of just doing like a decent headunit that controls an ipod or something but for the same amount or less [using an old laptop] i'll soon have in car navigation, mp3's, dvd's and other videos and all that other exciting stuff...not that i need it hehe, but i reakon an accurate speed reading would be good though + the fact i own no cd's so now will just be able to simply wifi songs to my car!

when i first saw pics of fairlady's i thought normal zeds looked nicer, then i saw those white ones with flares and started to like the flares more and more, and this just makes me want them, hehe, and now the more i look at fairlady's the more i like the gnose... the gloss black looks nice, specially with the stripe down your car, i'd definately get a front spoiler as nate said...but hey, thats the one thing i actully have done hehe!

hey thanks for the advice, yeah i was kinda thinking even if i dont do anything with it its a nicer daily driver than most other cars for its price and aint that bad on fuel, really would like nice rims and seats (dam sulio and gav) hehe

yeah i reakon the chrome ones look very nice, partically on those white ones, but completely depends on everything else... http://www.classiczcars.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=11556&size=big&cat=559 that is quite sexy, i'd perfer it if the rims had a polished lip ....wait a second thats the same car! :shock: i'm thinking for my car, tinted windows, black bonnet, black fender mirrors, black flares, black at the bottom of my doors (dodgy rust cover up job) along with my black spoiler and paint below the rear bumper black, black rims and polished lip...(along with rb25det or 1jz-gte) then at some stage buy new doors and get the car properally resprayed, or sell it and buy a nice 15g kinda zed then at some stage sell off the engine and stuff then change to a newer engine...opinions would be appreshiated yeah they are on yahoo japan around 18000yen...and really need the flares to finish off the look, so really need the money for rims...and larger brakes, but one day :roll:
